Homecoming [Completed]

Character(s): Urd, Belldandy, Genie, Yorda
Content: Belldandy has come back to Paixao! Urd brings her home.
Setting: Urd's house in zone M6
Time: Week 24, mid-afternoon
Warnings: None.

Urd practically dragged Belldandy to their home all the way from her new shop, New Hope. Having her sister back in Paixao was such a blessing to her, such a relief that she still hadn't stopped to consider where Belldandy had been and whether or not she had seen Keiichi again. Those sort of questions would be for later, once the celebration wore down.

Urd slammed open the door with gusto. "We're hoooome~!" she called, her excitement and happiness radiating even within her voice. Everything was going perfect -- she was back to her normal form, she'd initiated her romance with Genie and now Belldandy was back.

"It's so lovely!" Belldandy exclaimed, following her elder sister. She was enthusiastically looking forward to meeting her sister's new friends, given how Urd didn't have many close friends back in Nekomi. Or in Heaven. Belldandy simply had to meet everyone, and was truly happy that everything seemed to be going well personally for her elder sister, if not for the political mess Paixao was in currently.

Yorda looked up from her journal, having been reading up on what was going on in the city. Whoever this mayor was, he didn't sound like a pleasant person. The girl smiled brightly at Urd, happy that she was home. "Welcome back," she told her sincerely, standing up and walking to her as she closed her journal. She looked up at Belldandy curiously; somehow, the woman seemed familiar. Had she met her before?

Surprised by Urd’s abrupt entrance, Genie gave a small jump and threw not only the book he had been reading out of his hands but poor Poncho out of his lap as well. The Lumen landed safely on all fours and rushed off to another corner of the room, spooked by the sudden liveliness to enter the room. Curious what all the excitement was about, Genie the rose from his seat and began to approach the goddess only to find he accompanied by a very familiar face. He gave a quiet gasp before rushing toward the pair.

“Belldandy!” the genie cried out. It was the only warning the goddess would receive before she found herself tightly wrapped in one of Genie’s big squishy hugs.

"It's wonderful to see you again, Genie-san!" Belldandy giggled, reciprocating the big blue guy's embrace. His lively spirit easily swept Belldandy up in his joyful mood. Turning to Yorda, Belldandy smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yorda. I thank you for taking care of my elder sister in my absence."

Yorda shook her head hesitantly. "I did not meet her," came the reply, a bright smile on the girl's face nonetheless as she turned to Belldandy. "I am happy to meet you, and I am glad that you will be living with us." She nodded happily at the thanks, pleased that she was able to help. "Urd has been very kind to me," she explained, giving another little nod. "She has been teaching me many things."

Genie was surprised to learn Belledandy remembered Paixao. In his experience little had memory of the city, stolen from a completely different point in time before their arrival in the city. Though, he suspected there were those who arrived from a later point in time with no memory of Paixao as well. He was curious to hear what Belledandy had witnessed during her time back and found it difficult to suppress his questions and release the goddess. However, he managed to pry himself off of her without the assistance of Urd.

“Do’s and don’ts.” He added to Yorda’s answer, levitating by Belldandy’s side with a grin. “Mostly don’t” The genie whispered jokingly. “But when did you get back? You haven’t found a new home, have you?”

holy shit am i late; i'm so sorry!

Belldandy wasn't going to argue; she would have never even considered living somewhere apart from her elder sister and Genie-san, and she was more than happy to make a new friend in Yorda. "Nee-san is a splendid teacher, I'm certain! I still look up to her even to this day." She smiled, tilting her head, causing the strands of suspended hair protruding from her forehead to sway. She wasn't entirely certain whether or not to dispute kicking Urd out of her own room, when Belldandy could have easily conjured herself a new room of her own, but she recalled that perhaps Urd was looking for any excuse to spend with her special person.

"It's been quite a day; tomorrow morning, I'll be certain to have breakfast prepared and ready for everyone!"

It was true that Urd had to tell Yorda quite a lot of what not to do. It seemed to the princess that there was more she couldn't do around Urd than what she could. Even so, she didn't mind; the girl was certain Urd meant only the best for her. The goddess was always concerned for Yorda, often going out of her way to make sure she was alright.

A small, surprised noise escaped Yorda as she was pulled close to Urd, the girl blinking owlishly at the older woman before smiling with her. "Yes," she agreed. "She has been teaching me how to drink properly." Of course, Urd hadn't allowed Yorda to have more than a few sips of wine, but it was nice to share interests.

My room?” Caught off guard by the suggestion, the genie stared at the Urd for a moment in surprise before smiling meekly in return to Belldandy. He chuckled uneasily and rubbed the back of his neck. The idea of possibly sharing a bed with a woman was by no means foreign but certainly something he had not considered in at least thirty, possibly forty, thousand years. “I guess so. I can’t see it being much of a problem unless Urd snores.” A confident grin returned to his face shortly after this, something he was sure to send Urd’s way while Belldandy continued to speak.

Genie nodded along to Belldandy’s words, agreeing that they could all use something to eat. Breakfast was, after all, the most important meal of the day! And eating a good breakfast set the tone for the rest of the day. The only problem was that Belldandy, who had only just arrived, was the one putting it together. Genie looked as though he were about the fall over when he had realized this. “No, no, no!” he scolded the goddess. “There’ll be none of that on my watch! You’re going sit down, relax, and catch up with your sister while I make breakfast. Got it?”

Yorda blinked bemusedly up at Urd, not understanding why Urd was making such a fuss. After all, Urd was often drinking; why was it so strange that Yorda try every so often? (Of course, sometimes Urd ended up doing some very strange things after she'd been drinking, so the princess was always careful whenever Urd allowed her to drink with her.) She padded obediently after the goddess into the kitchen, still looking at her with a puzzled expression.

"You told me secrets were bad things," she replied, remembering how upset Urd had gotten over the Master and Mao (not that Yorda had told her about Mao, which had started the whole thing to begin with). "Are they not any more?"

[identity profile] my-blessedbell.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Genie-san's insistence was difficult to turn down, especially as Belldandy knew he did it out of the goodness of his heart. Although the deities of Yggdrasil had no need to eat, Belldandy was certainly looking forward to the delicacies that Genie must have been skilled at! Exotic dishes from his world and memories, all filled with his love... Belldandy couldn't wait!

Belldandy smiled as Urd took Yorda to the side, glad that her elder sister had found a playmate in Paixao. Turning back to Genie, Belldandy bowed in respect. "It's wonderful to be back. I hope that my presence won't be too much of a bother."

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Genie had misunderstood Yorda, thinking the goddess had taught her what not to drink in order to drink properly. However, he would not have been surprised to hear otherwise, simply disappointed. Yorda was such an impressionable soul. He worried about the sorts of trouble she managed to get herself into in his absents, though knew there was only so much he and Urd could do. They could not protect her forever and in order to learn she would need to make at least some mistakes - just not really big mistakes.

He watched the two girls quickly shuffle into the kitchen before he turned back to face Belldandy. “What would ever give you that idea? Don’t you ever call yourself a bother – unless you’re bothering Snape. And even then, you’re not really a bother. Bother, bother, bother, bother!” Genie playfully nudged Belldandy, similar to how some rather delightful puppet pals ‘bothered’ Severus. He paused for a moment before giving the goddess one extra poke in the arm. “… Bother.”

"Why?" Yorda asked, tilting her head. "Why are they not bad with others?" The princess moved about the kitchen, helping Urd with the tea, and standing on tip-toe to get a tray and some snacks. "If you do not wish me to drink, I understand," she said. She didn't know what was so odd about it, although Urd usually acted much differently than when she wasn't drinking those odd substances. "I will not tell them." WIth a nod, the girl placed the tray on the counter and arranged the snacks on them quietly, leaving room for the kettle and cups.

[identity profile] my-blessedbell.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Giggling, Belldandy flinched to Genie's nudges. "All right, so I'm not a bother. It's good to know that. Thank you again, Genie-san, for taking care of my elder sister in my absence." She then turned to where Urd and Yorda were huddled. "Tell me, how did you two meet Yorda-san?"

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
A grin spread across the genie’s face at Belldandy’s words. It felt a lot more as though she were taking care of him but he was not about to argue. Instead he gave the goddess another gentle nudge, this time with his shoulder. No problem he silently replied.

At the mention of Yorda, Genie turned his attention to the girl, momentarily surprised by the question. However a smile was quick to return to his face. “Yorda?” he repeated and rubbed his chin in thought, idly pulling on his goatee. “It was really Urd who had introduced us. We spoke a few times over the journal but nothing more than that before Urd brought here here.”

"I do not?" Yorda blinked, looking u at her. She had missed Mao, and even the Master, who frightened her sometimes. Still, worry over Urd and gratitude for the goddess' care of her had prevented the girl from running off again, at least for now. She smiled brightly at the older woman, happy that she was easing up. "I will be careful," Yorda promised her. "If there is something wrong, I will tell you."

She followed Urd out with the tray, smiling to everyone. "The tea is ready," she told them, gesturing to the tray in Urd's arms (it seemed that despite knowing of Yorda's stamina, Urd still worried about her dropping things).

[identity profile] my-blessedbell.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"How wonderful!" Belldandy clapped her hands together, taking a seat, waiting patiently for her tea. Usually it was her who played the hostess, but in this case it was nice to be waited on for a change. "Tell me, Yorda-san, Nee-san, how did you two meet? I would love to hear about it."

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Genie smiled at the two girls as they joined them again and followed Belldandy further into the room. He stopped in front of their coffee table and ran his finger along the glass, bringing it to his face to ensure it was clean before he signalled that the tray could be placed down on it. Heaven forbid they use a dirty table. Had they been forced to the embarrassment alone have been more than enough to kill the genie. He wanted the others to feel confident that he could maintain a clean house… Though, his ability to maintain his own room was rather lacking. Somehow he had yet to finish unpacking, his bedroom no different than that of his old dwelling; a bed, a shelf or two, and a slew of open but yet to be unpacked boxes.

He leaned back, as though seated in some unseen chair while he levitated and eagerly awaiting to hear the pairs story.

Yorda paused, unsure as to how to answer when Urd did it for her. She smiled and nodded in agreement with Urd, a little sad in spite of the cheerful moment; she missed Ico, but at least she knew he was safe now. The princess lowered her eyes for a few moments, lost briefly in her own memories before she moved to sit down, slightly away from Genie and Belldandy.

"Yes. I remember that," she added tranquilly, her hands in her lap as she smiled, once more, at the memories. "She taught us many things about dates." Ice cream being an apparently vital part of a first date, for instance.

[identity profile] my-blessedbell.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
"I see, how wonderful!" Belldandy smiled, taking in the details of their tale. "Come to think of it, I don't think Nee-san and Genie-san told me how they first met, either. You simply must tell me that story as well, you know." You wouldn't know it by looking at her, but Belldandy certainly was nosy, when it came to certain subjects.

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Of course Urd had played match maker. He had always known her to be the type to meddle in the affairs of love, being the ‘Goddess of Love’ and all. Though she certainly had not done any harm in doing so. Yorda appeared to remember her date fondly, the smile that appeared on her face enough to warm his heart - or maybe it was just the tea. Both were quite likely and in their own way wonderful. Yorda was given the chance to experience something far greater than all the magic he could muster; love. And this tea? Wow, fantastic. Nothing beat a good spot of tea.

Genie took another sip from his cup, only to soon find it caught in his throat at the mention of how he had met Urd. He… remembered how they had met, of course. Yes. How could he possibly forget… how they had met… the way they did? His gaze slowly travelled to Urd. There was definitely no forgetting. No sir. He remembered completely. Yes. The genie’s face began to turn a bright shade of red, the hot tea still residing in his throat to blame while his gaze grew all the more intense, as though he had fallen into some deep form of thought. That was until steam began to shoot out his ears.

The genie quickly swallowed the tea and smiled at the others in embarrassment. “G-good tea.” He stammered with a chuckle.

Yorda listened to Urd's story, carefully sipping her tea. She looked bemusedly over at Genie as he turned red, reaching over to pat him gingerly on the back. Was he choking? But no, he swallowed his tea quickly. Withdrawing her hand, Yorda tilted her head to one side. "Are you alright?" she asked, smiling a little. He didn't seem hurt, judging by the laugh, but it didn't hurt to ask.

She looked back to Urd, then to Genie, then back again, certain she was missing something. She often got that feeling when Urd and Genie were together, but at least she was aware that she was missing things, now; before moving in with Urd, it was as though she had been living underground.

[identity profile] my-blessedbell.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Giggling a bit, Belldandy could see the spark between Urd and Genie becoming a bit more and more serious; she was almost jealous, even if her heart still belonged to Keiichi. How long had it been since she last saw him...? However, none of that showed on her face. Seeing Genie and Urd together, happy, was enough for Belldandy to share in their joy. After all, how long did her elder sister share in the joy that Belldandy and Keiichi shared? It was the least that Belldandy could do for her elder sister.

"I admit, today was been quite a surprise; it may be time that I get some rest." Belldandy bowed in respect. While she usually didn't have to sleep due to her divinity, coming here to Paixao seemed to take a bit out of her, and sleep was her alternative energy source. "I'll look forward to your delicious breakfast tomorrow morning, Genie-san."

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Having felt Yorda pat his back, he looked down at the apologetically. “Yes, thank you, Yorda.” Genie assured her. “Just a little hotter than I anticipated.” He held his cup up and winked at her before turning to look Urd, his smile spreading further across his lips. Yes, he remembered that beautiful Monday afternoon: nothing but them and a clear blue sky. Well, until he started shooting off fireworks anyway. Genie had mistaken her life of being in jeopardy at first, that she was a mortal stranded a top one of Paixao’s tall buildings. However, he was quick to learn otherwise, finding himself challenged to a race, something he could not refuse. Unfortunately they never had finished their race, Urd having unwillingly forfeited. But had she not, maybe things would have gone differently and not been the way they were now. He sipped his tea and briefly pondered the thought before it occurred to him that Urd had failed to complete the story. But maybe he was thankful of this. Yorda did not need to know that he had served the goddess drinks in order to restore her energy. Though it was a very serious matter, Genie by no means wanted to give Yorda the wrong impression.

“It was a close race, though.” Genie reminded Urd with a grin. “I wouldn’t object to a rematch.” He placed his cup back down and casually leaned back, arms folded behind his head. “If you think you have a chance, that is.”

Surprised by Belldandy’s decision to head to bed so early, the djinn looked at her in puzzlement. “Oh. Sure! We’ll keep it down for you the best we can. And breakfast? Trust me, you’re gonna love it. Raspberry chocolate chip pancakes with your choice of maple, buttermilk, blueberry, peach, plum, cherry, cinnamon apple, or apricot syrup! Unless… Unless you don’t like raspberry chocolate chip pancakes. I can do potato, butter milk, banana, pumpkin, cherry, gingerbread... How about smiley face pancakes? What better to start your day off than a smile?”
