So an Al Bhed and a Nightmaren walk into a bar ... no, that's the joke.
Character(s): Rikku, NiGHTS
Content: Obligatory intro post! And this weird purple thing.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate
Time: Day...ish
Warnings: contains NiGHTS
This whole thing was just... way too weird.
Rikku got to the gate and hesitated, trying not to flip out. Was this some kind of dream? One second she'd been in Luca with Yuna and everyone else, and then on the way back she'd tripped over something and found herself... here, wherever "here" was. The people in line had called it Paixao, but she'd been all over Spira and never heard of the place - which meant something was seriously out of whack here.
But really, there was only one way to find out what was up, and that was to keep moving forward. Something about the whole situation gave her an odd sense of déjà vu, though. It was like... when she'd fished Tidus out of the Baaj ruins, come to think of it. Only now she was the one getting fished, so to speak.
Well, he found someone to help him out, right? She'd just have to keep going till she found something, or someone. Even if the locals did seem a little unfriendly...

Sure enough, there was a blonde girl looking looking around, bewildered. "Hey, there!" NiGHTS called out cheerfully, floating a little above her. "You look lost. You're new here, right?"

But still, he sounded nice, so she bounced on her feet and cast him a sheepish smile. "Is it that obvious?" she asked.

"Bikanel Island," she replied, and then, on a hunch: "In Spira. But... I'm guessing we're a long way from there, huh?"

Yeah, she was gonna need a second opinion here. She flipped open the little machina they'd given her at the gate, taking a look over the controls. Looked straightforward enough. "The message boards, huh? That's what this little doodad is for, right?"

"Why don't you give it a try?" NiGHTS smiled at Rikku. "I'll stay with you. There's no way I'll just leave someone here to get lost." Or worse, he thought.

A quick glance around rewarded her with a nearby bench, where she took a seat while she examined her journal. Apparently it had turned on automatically, which saved her some trouble. So you could do text, or... wait a sec, there was a voice feature, too? That'd be better. After a moment's tweaking and some quiet muttering in Al Bhed, she sat up straight and held the journal to where she could get at
what looked likethe microphone."Ahem. Testing, one, two, three! ... (http://community.livejournal.com/paixaomb/110303.html)"
[Sure!]
