Time: Noonish, Week 21

Braska set his cup of coffee back down on the table with a contented sigh. Idly, he watched people pass by the window, seeming not to have a care in the world. A normal day and a normal state for most of the citizens of Paixao, he imagined. For himself, it was a day for relaxation.

He debated searching some of the stores to find something to replace his robes. While he didn't mind wearing them, he had noticed that they made him stick out a little more than most.

Starr wandered into the cafe, carrying a handful of the local currency and looking for a good coffee. She was still easy to spot as an outsider, wearing her uniform. Her recent attempts to find a replacement set of clothing for wandering around the city had failed, but she was determined to find something that wouldn't attract as much attention as she was now.

Ordering a coffee, she turned and looked around. The Music had changed when she entered, something on the fringe of her thoughts... The normal Music was still there, it was all the same from the people of the city, but there was an additional refrain, one that was much calmer...and spiritual.

She looked around to find the source, and noticed the man sitting at the window. He stuck out a bit, not looking like the citizens...kind of like her.

Starr took her coffee from the person at the counter and gave them a smile before wandering over to the man who had asked her a question. The Music was definitely coming from him, as it got louder as she got closer to him.

"Nothing's the matter, please don't be offended, but you look different from everyone else. And that's nice to see in this city." She took a look around the cafe, looking at the citizens who were sitting there also.

"Do you mind if I sit?" She asked, pointing at the vacant chair.

Starr sat down across from him, setting her cup of coffee down on the table between them. Taking another look around, she focused her mind on ignoring the strange Music coming from the citizens, and listening to the different tune coming from the man seated across from her.

"It's not that you look odd. I mean, I stick out like a sore thumb in comparison to the boring people here. Not very many people wear bright red pants." She laughed. "But, yeah, I showed up here a week, maybe two weeks ago?"

Starr shrugged at his last statement. "Losing track of time is something that everyone does." She said, taking a drink of her coffee.

"Especially when one finds themselves in such a strange situation." She looked around and sighed.

"What exactly is this place, anyway?"

"The city, yeah." Starr replied, adding some sugar to her coffee. "I don't know a lot, just the general basics that I got from the guards, and Lenne." She stirred the drink and watched the liquid spiral for a moment.

"Is it always this...bland?" She asked, glancing at the similar citizens grouping in the cafe.

She sighed, there was no excitement here at all it seemed. Besides the people who looked out of place, everyone was the same, playing the same song...which had never happened to her before. Everyone had a different Music, and here she was, in a world where everyone played the same song.

Distracted, she hummed a bit, along with the Music she was hearing from the man sitting across from her. It was a nice song, that she hadn't heard before, and even though she hadn't heard it before, it had been playing long enough that she knew at least part of it.
