The carnival begins, AKA: Musical girls in weird outfits meet.

Character(s): Starr, Lenne
Content: Starr shows up, and is confused. But this isn't new for someone who just arrived.
Setting: Jountenheim area.
Time: Week 21
Warnings: None.

It sounded like a carnival where someone had decided to change the pitch of the music to make it tinny. And really creepy. She tried to ignore it, but wasn't having an easy time, considering. Plopping down on a bench, she ignored the leers she was getting from the men around, and the glares from the women walking around.

Every once in a while, she would get a hint of another type of music, but it would fade away as soon as she heard it. She didn't know what to think...except.

"This dang thing needs a music player, or something."

Lenne had been wandering as she was oft known to do, when she noticed an unfamiliar face. She stared for a moment, not because of jealousy, but genuine curiosity. She also couldn't help but overhear the comment about music as she approached the woman, a soft smile on her face as she greeted her.

"This city could always use more music," she agreed in greeting, hands clasped behind her back as she came to a stop standing in front of Starr.

"Did you just arrive?"

Lenne smiled sympathetically, a light laugh escaping her as she nodded in understanding. She took a glance at the nearby gate, remembering her own entrance through another. She was thankful that this woman's seemed much less... traumatic.

"Gives you a little time to get your footing, though," she mused, nodding to the lines. "I suppose they've already told you this is Paixao and been generally unhelpful?" she asked with another smile. She wasn't very good at explaining the city to newcomers, but it wouldn't stop her from trying.

"Oh, I'm Lenne, by the way..." she added, almost an afterthought.

Lenne stole a glance at the men when Alexandra mentioned the leering, and glared pretty hard at them herself, in her new friend's defense. Men. She rolled her eyes and laughed, tossing her beaded hair back behind her shoulders. She'd been all too accustomed to such reactions back home... she rarely even noticed anymore.

She reached her hand out and smiled warmly, shaking Alexandra's hand firmly but briefly. "You too," she agreed. "You hungry?" she offered then, glancing around to see if there was possibly one of the cafes nearby. "Unless you're not eager to leave your new fans," she added with a wink.

Lenne laughed again and pulled her journal out, chewing her lip as she poked around a bit until she got the map feature to work acceptably. It always amazed her how she really had no knack for the device.

"Well, it's a little bit of a walk, but there's a cafe just north of here. Here," she turned her journal to show Alexandra, and pointed at the Cafe Ersesat on the map.

Lenne's expression softened when she heard the sigh. She knew the feeling. She wasn't about to assume, but she could definitely imagine many a reason to be discontent here. She smiled sympathetically, and took a couple steps in the direction they'd need to be headed.

"C'mon, let's get moving before your friends there get any more ideas," she jested with a final glare at the peanut gallery near the gates.
