Open for Business [Active/Open]
Character(s): Megara, open to all (Rose? Tiana? Yuna? EMPLOYEES?)
Content: Megara reopens the Seventh Heaven, hoping some new employees (and customers) stop by.
Setting: Seventh Heaven [G7]
Time: Week 20, morning
Warnings: Probably none.
Note: This thread will be like any large group threads with encounters divided by comment string. Feel free to start your own or jump into someone elses!
This was probably a mistake. Meg had never operated a business before; it was pretty counter-intuitive to the whole "eternal slave to the god of death" thing. Working for Hades left little time to get comfortable and situated, after all. And even when he didn't specifically need her for, say, seducing some monster of legend to his side or spying on the enemy, her lot in life meant getting close to anyone was heartbreak in the making.
But working for Tifa as a waitress at the Seventh Heaven had given her a small glimmer of pride and accomplishment that she kept inside herself and would never admit to. Now with the former boss presumably vanished to where she came from, Meg wasn't about to let the one good part of this stupid place lay abandoned and forgotten on the wayside...even if it meant she had to take up the reins herself.
Now she unlocked the door and opened the curtains, lighting the lamps and just generally getting ready for the day. Of course, until Rose or Yuna's friend came along, the Seventh Heaven wouldn't be offering any food, for everyone's sake. But she could mix a drink and serve the already premade snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Megara took her position behind the bar and began to wipe the counter down, ready for the day.

It still bothered him that a lot of his friends didn't remember him. And even though he knew that there had to be a reason, even though he knew in his heart that he could be friends with all of them again, it still saddened the boy greatly that people he considered to be his friends had no idea who he was.
Sora went into the bar and took a seat. "H-hey, Meg," he greeted to the woman at the counter.

"You...never told me your name, kid."
no subject
"You wanted to talk?" Sora wasn't sure how to start this conversation.

"We met a while back, a couple months ago, in the Underworld. You were going to talk to Hades about Hercules, but I went instead. And... I don't know how to prove to you that I'm not lying, Meg."

Win-win, right?
She still hadn't told the Doctor about it yet, though. She would see how it went for a few shifts, first, and then tell him 'oh by the way...'
"Hello!" she calls, smiling as she enters fully and approaching the counter. "I'm here about the job."
The Doctor probably would be happy. It meant Rose would potentially stay out of trouble. Potentially.

"Oh, hi. Are you the girl who wanted to try out some cooking? Because I'm so hungry right now I could eat the wings off a Gorgon." She headed towards the counter, adding thoughtfully, "...fried...with some kind of dipping sauce."
Rather than take her spot on the business side of the counter, Megara approached Rose on her side, holding out her hand. "I'm Megara."
no subject
"Not sure I can help you with the Gorgon." Not that Rose really knew what a Gorgon was. Sounded like some mythological sorta thing, but that's as far as she got. "But I'm willing to try. Though frying..." She makes a face. "Maybe we should try something else to start with."
Except she hadn't really come with much of a plan.

The hyena sniffed her way into the establishment, not exactly 'fitting in', but how could she? Shenzi and her furry kind of bunch weren't going to just find a bit of grass and curl up out of everyone's way.
On the plus side, she'd eaten enough that she wasn't about to bite at anyone's ankles, and instead was following a lingering smell of something akin to burning, and it left her reminiscing of home, of all the places for her to be mulling over. Not like hyenas had much of a home, after all.
She weaves under a table, still following her nose, and without any attention towards anyone else, she heads for the kitchen curiously.

She slowly backed away from the table she'd been sitting at, inching to the broom propped up against the wall.
no subject
At least she wasn't making a mess.
Not yes, anyway.
no subject
She inched towards the kitchen door, holding the broom out in front of her despite the apparent friendliness of the animal. "Thanks," she said casually, lip quirked into smirk. "You're hungry, I take it?"

He might even be able to offer some pointers on running a bar, if she really needed them. He'd certainly hung out at the former Seventh Heaven enough.

For now, it would be nice just to be working again. Though she wasn't the same 'no time for fun' girl she'd once been, working still felt right to her, and she smiled as she came upon the building her brochure indicated was the Seventh Heaven. Without hesitation, she opened up the door.
"Hello?"

It was a moment later when she realized that it was probably a good thing the girl had dodged...at least she wasn't hurt. She looked up at her from under her bangs, smiling weakly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that. It's been busy."

As he sauntered into Seventh Heaven, he was feeling rather confident, just as always. He sat himself down on a stool near the bar with a grin on his face, giving the crowd a skim to see if she was around.

It wasn't until she'd given the water to a nearby table of customers and checked to see if they needed anything else before she went back behind the bar. She kept the corners of her lips from curving upwards into a smile like they wanted to and instead placed her elbows on the counter, chin in her hand and said flatly, "What can I get for you?"

Where she kept herself from grinning, Jecht was all smiles as she approached. His arms were crossed over the bar as he leaned forward. "Well there's a few things that come to mind immediately but..." he trailed off, "I guess I'll have to settle for a drink for now, heh. What's the lady recommend?"
no subject
"Water. I'm sure you're a real hoot when you're drunk, but I've already broken enough stuff today without your help." With that, she briefly flashed a small smile, looking aside. "If you're nice, maybe I'll get you some juice."
