Build It Up, Knock It Down [Active/Open]

Character(s): Iroh, OPEN [especially to those that need help with log tags for the AC]
Content: Iroh is opening up a tea stand until he knows what to do about the Paixao restaurant business. He might need some help. [wink, wink]
Setting: Just outside of Paixao station in the central part of the island
Time: Later morning
Warnings: Shouldn't be a problem (for Iroh, at least...)

Iroh felt the warmth permeate his chest as he took a deep breath of the late morning air. "This weather has been incredibly pleasant! It reminds me of Ember Island during the summer. Sadly, I fear I don't have a bathing suit. Of course, that's hasn't stopped me before," he pondered quietly to himself as he was sure the rest of the town square wouldn't care to know of his ventures in skinny dipping at the hot springs. "But there is little time to think of that! I have to begin the construction of The Golden Turtle...part one."

He carried a couple armfuls of wood (or what was considered wood by Paixao's standards), a can of paint, a brush, and a hammer as he began scouting the perfect location to set up his new tea stand. "I need a place where many people come so I can make the most out of my business and share the joys of tea. Where would a good spot be?"

"Who are you talking to?" chirped a sweet voice from behind Iroh.

Flonne blinked up at him, ruby demon eyes curious and sparkling. She'd gone out for a morning walk to enjoy the aesthetic beauty of the place and to come across new friends. Perhaps this kindly-looking old man would be a friend. Despite what Laharl and Etna had said on repeat occasions, the fallen angel felt it was important to befriend the other people trapped here.

"Pretty damned sure it was supposed to be to himself," another - and far more gruff - voice answered.

Admittedly, Cid had really stopped because of the magical word 'tea' but he wasn't entirely adverse to a bit of manual labor. It wasn't like it could hurt him any and hell, he'd done more than of his share of back when he was still working with Shinra. Besides, who could complain about another tea store? He certainly couldn't.

Cid's presence was a surprise to Flonne as well, but she craned her neck to smile up at him just the same. At Iroh's question, she curtsied politely, the giant "ears" of her bow bobbing energetically with the motion. "My name is Flonne, sir! I'm the Fallen Angel of Love!"

She reached out to take the paintbucket and brush from his load in an attempt to help him. He didn't look like he was having any trouble with it, but maybe he was just being proud. "Would you like us to help you?"

Apparently, Flonne had decided Cid was a part of the group now as well.

From above, there was a little, twittery giggle. Perched upon a decorative ledge protruding from one of the adjacent buildings, was what appeared to be a young girl. How long she’d been there, watching with her bright, pale green eyes was anyone’s guess. She crouched like gargoyle, her long, exceptionally pale hair that dangling down toward the ground.

“So, just what are you doing down there?” She then hopped down from the ledge, turning a summersault as she fell. She landed squarely on her feet and, since she was much shorter than everyone else… looked up at the three, her hands on her hips.

Cid himself was somewhat less thrilled about his sudden inclusion in the group. Sure, he'd stopped by to help of his own accord but that didn't necessarily mean he was part of any group. Fortunately, that train of thought was neatly derailed by the new arrival.

"Talking," he answered, almost without missing a beat. "What the hell's it look like we're doin'?"

"I'd be happy to help!" Flonne said, her tone echoing Iroh's cheerfulness. Even the odd and sudden arrival of this new girl didn't throw her off; in fact, the thought of yet another person to get to know made her even happier. "What are your names?" She turned to smile at the other two, the devil tail behind her swaying.

Aisling folded her arms neatly in front of her chest and frowned at the man who’d answered her. “Of course you’re talking. I could hear you from a hundred strides away!”

However, that frown turned into a look of mild surprise as she was offered a few boards by the old human. She took them from him and lifted them up onto her narrow shoulder easily… In fact, far easier than someone so small should have been able to. However… Aisling found herself suddenly on the spot. She was used to growing things… not building them.

“I’ve never built anything like that before.” she admitted. However, the tailed woman’s question gave her a much-needed distraction from her inexperience.

I’m Aisling.” Normally she would have beat around the bush and not answered… but it seemed in this place… everyone knew one another’s names. “Who are you?”

"Must have damned good hearing then," Cid grumbled. They hadn't been that loud, or at least he hadn't. They'd just been... talking, and besides, no one had asked him for anything earth-shattering and he sure as hell hadn't felt like giving it.

"Might as well," he answered Iroh's comment, taking the offered boards. It wasn't a ship but hell, it wasn't going to take a rocket scientist to build a tea shop, right?
