This is Halloween! Everybody Make A Scene! [Active]

Character(s): Urd, Yuna, The Master, Lenne, Raven, Kanata, Shantotto, Priere, Judith, Balthier, Fran, Toph, Grace, Genie. Now closed!
Content: Exploring Halloween Town!
Setting: Starts at Destiny Islands, heads into Halloween Town...naturally.
Time: Week 19, afternoon (Paixao/Destiny Islands), night (Halloween Town)
Warnings: Nothing! Well, except for possible psychological battles, random Heartless and spooky costumes.

Note: This group is formed with the people who posted on Urd's journal entry. Make sure to refer to the various OOC posts about Halloween Town if you need to. Feel free to transform your character into something more Halloween-y once we get there, but it's not mandatory.

Urd was quite comfortable waiting for people in the sunny climate of Destiny Islands, floating above the sand as if she were reclined on some invisible beach chair. She'd posted an entry in her journal earlier, looking for the adventurous types who could accompany her to this mysterious "Halloween Town." Not that she couldn't go by herself, but she'd feel better about other people going to new worlds if she were around to keep them out of trouble. And more people would be interesting anyway, right?

So she kept an eye on the entrance from the interior of St. Destino, arms held leisurely behind her head.

Given the beach environment, Judith thought it appropriate to don a bikini as well. The meeting with the Master proved to be interesting, but he also proved not entirely useful in getting out of here. If anything, after what had happened on Terca Lumireis, Judith knew that trying to find out all sides of a story first were fairly important.

"You look like you could use some company." Judith smiled, as she approached Urd.

Shantotto was definitely eager to further explore the next floor. She'd done some solo exploring, but had soon returned to Paixao for rest and food. There was just little to really eat, to her taste, beyond the city.

She was more than ready now, however, to attempt another look. After all, the next floor was high on her agenda to find, although some more excitement she would also not object to, of course.

And it seemed she was not quite the first to arrive, Shantotto noted as she stepped onto the sand. The one woman she had spoken to (Ird? Ord? Well, something like that. She'd seen the woman's name on the journals once or twice) was easily recognizable, but the other Shantotto had not yet made acquaintances with.

Yuna had left Belle and Tidus notes telling them that she was going to be exploring the new locations and to only worry about her if she didn't return in a day or two. Hopefully, Tidus would know she could take care of herself and not worry. At least she'd be with a group this time.

She arrived pretty early, glancing around for other people and walking up once she spotted them. She recognized one of them, Shantotto, from the exploration of the Islands a while ago, and Yuna waved at the small... woman?

"Hello. I'm Yuna," she offered to the other two, whom she didn't recognize at all. "Are we waiting for a lot of people?"

Leaving Culotte in charge of the apartment, Priere headed out to explore the supposed castle once more. It had been quite interesting (read: there was a brawl and it was fun) last time on the islands, so she was expecting something good this time as well. And at least this time, it wasn't too early in the morning.

She sent a quick wave to the group, recognizing Yuna and the rhyming professor from last time. She did however, stare at the one wearing the bikini, what exactly did she think they were doing here? A vacation?

Getting past the gate guards was, in fact, not terribly difficult for someone like Raven. Outside of the city was stranger still, but he tried not to waste too much time staring and set out to find the place Urd had described. There were a few people gathered there already when he arrived, including two familiar and, well, voluptuous figures.

"Judith, darlin', fancy seein'--" ...well, he could see a lot, actually. The Krityan was wearing less than normal, and that was saying something. Raven tried not to let his jaw hang open. He knew she did it on purpose, but still--

He cleared his throat. ..."An' Miss Urd as well. Seems we're in good company."

"And some of the most modest as well, I see." Balthier stepped onto the familiar sands and took a look at those gathered. He only recognized the woman who he had talked to over the journals, though he was fairly certain he remembered her from the fight with the large creature on these islands beforehand.

He wondered whether or not to ask if anyone had any more information on the world they were to wander into, but decided to wait until more people had arrived. He had seen plenty of people reply to the entry and it didn't look as though all of them were here yet.

"And with quite a few new faces," he continued, glancing back at Fran. "Unless you've spoken to any of them."

"I have not," she answered simply. There was but one face in the crowd that she could recognize, and it was one that no doubt Balthier knew as well. The rest were strangers, and it was hardly a surprise. Explorer teams always did have something of a tendency to change on regular basis.

But as long as they were competent enough she had no complaints.

"Oh, my, it's like we have a party." Judith commented, a bit amused. There were many people; did Urd make friends with all of them? Judith simply smiled and greeted the people as they came, unashamed of her manner of dress. It was easier to move around in, anyway.

"Oh, Raven, you're here too <3" Judith teased, allowing him to take a look at her figure. And anybody else, too.

Kanata eagerly stepped onto the sand, tail a waggin'. He would've been here a little sooner, but there was just so much to take in! Honestly. A door that led to a beach? How cool was that?!

"Whoaa, it's already so lively." There were a lot of faces he didn't recognize, but Kanata's first and foremost goal was to seek out and walk towards that one lady who posted in the first place. She said something about a castle? Ah, whatever it was! There was adventure to be had!

It had taken Lenne a bit longer than she'd expected to arrive in the Destiny Islands, as she'd never really taken the time to explore outside the city before (aside from the golf tournament, but that was different...), and there was just so much to see. When she spotted the group ahead of her she gave a friendly wave, then clasped her hands behind her back as she approached them.

"Am I really running that late?" she asked with a musical laugh, coming to stand by Yuna, who, of the group, she knew the best, if only because she was the only one Lenne knew at all other than Urd.

Yuna nodded as one of the women spoke and she assumed that was Urd, the one who had arranged everything. She would have asked something else, but the arrival of more people, particularly a few she'd seen during the big fight against the Heartless here in Destiny Islands as well as one she knew quite well, distracted her.

"Hello, Priere!" she called, waving at the other woman before she turned to smile warmly at Lenne. "Hello, Lenne. It's good to see you again. I don't think you're that late, but I'm glad to have someone else here I know. How have you been?"

Toph had arrived to scene behind everyone else so far. She was surprised to feel so many people around, and she was thankful that she had been practicing her sandbending so she wouldn't walk in to everyone on the sandy beach.

"Which one of you is this Urd lady?" She demanded an answer from the already large crowd. "This isn't the Halloween Town, is it?" It didn't feel like a town, and it didn't feel like one was nearby either. Toph didn't like how she couldn't feel the other places that seemed to be right next to each other. Especially since she couldn't fix it.

Grace really had no idea why she'd decided to take her Avatar out to this "Halloween Town" today. She'd just decided to travel through the Islands... and Islands had plants. Grace barely cared if they were real or not, but hopefully they'd at least feel, smell, and taste real.

There was a sizable crowd when the Na'vi Avatar arrived and she glanced around, not recognizing a soul (and wondering why on earth there was such a crowd)- Well, there was one she recognized, but Kanata wouldn't know her. He'd met her while she was human. Best to pretend she was a different person, even if the Na'vi voice might sound similar to her human one.

The smallest one was... not as small as the meerkat, but damn small enough for Grace to easily stomp on her should she feel like it. The tallest... still didn't come close to the Avatar's height. So, as usual it seemed, Grace towered over everyone. She remained on the outskirts for the moment, watching the crowd and pretending to examine the plants.

Well, it wasn't really particularly pretending if she was interested, was it?

The small doctor had to admit she was almost impressed. It was quite a group that was gathering; far larger than she'd expected. More than a few she recognized from her excursion here before, but there were some new faces too. Many of them had proven to have more exceptional abilities over the adventurers she was used to dealing with. If any of these new faces were as useful as they'd proven to be, more progress might be made.

What an interesting collection there was, however. The boy with ears and a tail certainly caught her attention. No, not a mithra, but he made her think of one to some extent. And then there was the blue woman on the outskirts of the large group. My she was tall. Even the tallest Elvaan had nothing on her. What a curious group this was quickly turning into.

"Just how many more are we going to be?" Priere couldn't help but ask. It's not that she hated the company, but this was getting a bit crowded. On the other hand, with this many people... and some really strange people (just how tall was that blue woman anyway? And did that kid have dog ears?) the whole exploration thing would go off without a hitch.

Waiting for everyone to get ready, Priere absentmindedly took out her baton and began practicing with it.

"Yeah, I'm Toph. So when are we leaving this dump?" She was anxious to get going and explore Halloween Town. She didn't really think she'd find Twikletoes and the others there, but it was worth a shot. At least it would get her out of Fakesville Paixao.

She started a little when she felt something big walk into the crowd. The frown continued to stay plastered on her face, and she pointed to the nine-foot giant, who was also blue, but Toph couldn't see that. "Who invited the freak show?" This place really couldn't get any stranger. At least, that what Toph hoped.

There certainly was an interesting crowd on Destiny Islands that afternoon, there was no denying that. Genie had been expecting an exciting mix since he had last seen the responses on Urd’s journal but nothing like this. Big and small, young and old, blue and… Wait, blue? The genie was forced to perform a double take before it registered that it was in fact a Na'vi Avatar among the group. What a delightful surprise. Hopefully his company would make her feel more welcome among the group, fully capable of being both taller and bluer than her. And what was this, a little Tarutaru and Dog Demon? Oh, how adorable! Genie fought hard to restrain himself from hugging the two when he approached the group.

Normally the great blue spirit found it necessary to perform a grand entrance, especially before such a large group, but on this particular occasion he decided to simply join the group on a quieter note. After all, he had arrived far later than expected. He didn’t want to be rude. Instead, he simply flew beside Urd, arms folded across his chest as he observed the group.

“Anxious bunch, aren’t they?” he asked with a smile. “The kids all ready to go?”

"You must be talking about me, because my ears are burning," The Master said from behind Urd. He had just leaped across the sands and landed just feet behind the teasing leader of the motley crew. He had his hood drawn over his head and smiled to Urd.

He looked around and noticed the strange collection of beings huddled around each other. He recognized Toph from their previous conversation. "Well, if it isn't the dirty little waif. Still throwing rocks at people you don't like?" he asked with a sarcastic sweetness in his voice.

He proceeded past the girl and noticed the tall blue Na'vi. He was reminded of how his last form had expired at the hands of a tall blue woman, and proceeded to point to his eyes and back to Grace.

The Master didn't like the looks he got from a majority of the group, given that they had either spoken to him or might have heard about him form others. Still, he needed to figure out where he was with regards to Paixao, and Halloween Town sounded like a good place to start.

[identity profile] freedominthesky.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, well, it looked like they had gathered quite the party, hadn't they? At least they wouldn't be wanting in sword arms should things go amiss. It seemed as though there were a few more familiar faces now than he had been expecting. He recognized the girl from a short discussion over the journals (and rather forceful, wasn't she), as well as the Genie, though the meeting had been brief.

His eyebrows rose slightly at the Na'vi, but Balthier seemed otherwise unphased. He had seen plenty of oddities during his time in the city. Sudden as it was, if he was startled by every strange creature he came across, he was like to lose his mind.

Their final member's appearance merited more curiosity as far as the sky pirate was concerned. It wasn't often one came across humes--or what passed as humes--with that sort of ability.

[identity profile] venit-ex-silva.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
And surely no one would wish for the 'leading man' to be anything but himself. It would lead the whole thing into ruin, after all. Not that Fran's reaction to a large blue humanoid was notably different than Balthier's, when you got right down to it. Why should she be bothered by something that was obviously not human when she herself wasn't human?

"Quite a variety we have," she commented to Balthier.

[identity profile] samplethesoul.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Grace noticed the stares and finally turned around... to find herself staring at an even larger group of people than when she'd first arrived. Okay, so something was definitely going on. And was that little girl talking about her?

"At least I can pull my weight."

She was guessing that was what this was all about. Looked like an exploration group or something. Just her style.

"So are you guys looking for something or did I miss a party invitation?"
