The Princess and the Ashes Finally Reunited! Affections Crossing Beyond Life and Death! [ACTIVE]
Character(s): Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear and Asch the Bloody
Content: Natalia meets Asch at Muspelheim. Angst probably occurs.
Setting: Muspelheim Gate.
Time: ... right now?
Warnings: Aside from long titles, angst, andhot hot sex more angst... nothing? And yes, all of my titles now on will be long-ass ones which make no sense, as an homage to Sailor Moon.
It all all so sudden; Asch, here, in Paixao? Natalia still couldn't wrap her mind around it.
... was she prepared for this? Emotionally, she was a wreck; just as she seemed so determined to go to the Destiny Islands and find a way out of here, leaving Luke here to live... she has a second chance to meet Asch. Was this a weakness? Indeed, it was; she was unforgivable, to herself. She practically threw away her duties to the throne and her country without a second thought when the mention of Asch came up. Her step slowing down to a standstill, Natalia lifted up an arm... but pulled back. She couldn't believe herself; how was she supposed to say that she loved her country with all of her heart and soul, a country which has accepted her regardless of all that she's been through... just to chase her own happiness?
It has been a very long few days, at the very least; how was he? How could he come here if he remembered dying? If anything, it solved a few problems of explaining what had transpired, but on the other hand... it was an undeniable truth. He was dead. She wasn't.Did this make her a necrophiliac? Holding her head in her hands, she was unsure as to how to even react when to see him.
Standing only a block away from Muspelheim, Natalia began to cry. A lot.
Her sobs could be heard for quite a distance, if one listened closely enough.

And so he waited patiently by Muspelheim, straining his eyes and ears, looking for any sign of Natalia.
He didn't recognize the sounds of her sobbing at first, but he did catch sight of a familiar figure off in the distance. With hastened steps, Asch quickly closed the distance between Natalia and himself. It was only when he got close did he realize those odd sounds he heard were from her. He slowed down considerably now once he realized she was crying, unsure how to approach the situation.
"Natalia..." He called out to her, as he came closer to her.

That familiar voice... it had the same base as Luke's but it sounded much, much more familiar and comforting than she had ever remembered it. Perhaps because it was an inkling of kindness, which even she rarely got to sense from Asch. And she couldn't blame him, after all of the things he's been through, just to endure and cope with existing. Attempting to calm down, she wiped away her tears, though her chest was still as tight as ever. There was absolutely no chance she would be able to regain her royal composure in this situation... not that it mattered, since she was never truly royalty, anyway. But the bond that she shared with her father, Luke, and Asch... those were all real. Just like how she has come to cherish the country and people of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear.
"I'm sorry." She choked, her voice still attempting to return to normal. "Just... the thought of seeing you... it makes me so happy." She tried to smile, as she approached Asch as he approached her. Almost afraid to touch him, as if he would disappear as a phantom into the night, she halted a yard away from him. "I'm so sorry, I'm such a mess right now." It was terrible how she couldn't even make herself look beautiful for him right now, when she'd want to the most. Her puffy eyes wouldn't look presentable for at least a day or two, now. Her strained smile slowly morphed into a sincere one, however. "I'm so glad you're here." She admitted, looking up to him, face to face, despite being ashamed of how unpresentable she thought she looked. The least she could do for him was to appreciate him, right here, right now.
