The one place where it's Christmas all year round [active]

Character(s): Elves! And anyone who wants to interact with elves!
Content: Elves are working! Elves are everywhere!
Setting: Christmastown~
Time: Afternoon, week 17
Warnings: None for now. COME ON THEY'RE ELVES

Three hundred and fifty five days in a year, they're always work! There was always work to be done, after all, and thankfully the Heartless weren't up in the ornaments again - so irritating, that! The elves were moving about the snowfall, some holding presents, others holding tools. Christmastown was alive with work, though they would occasionally stop to mingle with one another.

And of course, if anyone were to interact with them, they would be very pleased to have a chat with them!

... or perhaps make them help work.

Either or. No worries. Really.

Death had quickly discovered that the "off-duty" joke tended to set people at ease - more so than they would have been otherwise, at the least. Still, Urd did not seem to be comfortable. This was to be expected, and he let it go, focusing instead on her question.

He gazed out over the small snowy town, taking in all the small beings - dwarves, likely, but dwarvish custom found it unseemly for dwarves to go about without beards. Perhaps this city had a different sort of culture, or maybe these were simply very small humans.

But his curiosity was getting ahead of him. He still had not answered Urd's question.

IT LOOKS LIKE ANKH-MORPORK AT HOGSWATCH, he replied, with the subsequent realization that she likely had no idea what he was talking about. AS THOUGH THERE IS A HOLIDAY COMING UP. WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE THE SMALL...PEOPLE...ARE?

She found she was much more relaxed when not touching Death. Urd smirked, watching one elf quickly bustle by. "Christmas elves, looks like. Only...the real deal. Not the the mall ones." She chuckled, glancing at Death. "If Ankh-Morpork is anything like Christmas, they're getting presents ready for all the good boys and girls."

Most people were.

Of course, for the most part Death had no idea what Urd was talking about either. The elves he knew were taller, more ethereal, and much more dangerous than the squat little creatures in the town before them. Then again, it was a relief to know these small elves would not maul anybody.

I SEE. So it was like Hogswatch after all, only with more small dwarf-elf creatures.

Of course, that answered some questions and not others. He knew this was a new level in the castle, but what it held and its connection to the previous level - if there even was a connection - were still a mystery. There was a very simple way to solve that. SHALL WE EXPLORE?

Urd smiled. Once you got used to him, Death wasn't so bad. Though she still wouldn't be touching him anytime soon, his company as she explored this place would actually be welcome. "Of course! Someone's got to." She winked as if sharing a secret.

"Might as well be two highly powerful intangible concepts."
