Where's the Green? [Active]

Character(s): Jake Sully
Content: Jake wakes up in Paixao, at a very bad moment.
Setting: Niflheim
Time: Early morning
Warnings: none expected

Jake shrugged his broad blue shoulders, yawning a little. Then he blinked. “Neytiri?!” he shouted to empty air. “NEYTIRI?!” He jumped to his feet and looked around, reaching for his knife. But nothing moved. The grass and plants barely felt alive, and there was no one around. There weren’t any animals either. This wasn’t Pandora.

“How am I still in my Avatar, though?” Jake asked himself, examining the lanky blue arms of the Na’vi body and finding his bow next to a foot. “Is my human body still linked, back on Pandora? Or am I dreaming or something?” He sighed, feeling the ground with a couple of fingers. There was no feeling of energy coming from it, Eywa was not here. Jake’s expression fell with another realization: the ikran, and the toruk he was newly bonded to, weren’t here either. He had his knife, his bow, and only three arrows. He’d have to save them for something big.

There was a huge gate in front of him, and every couple minutes someone would walk through. If they were happier-looking, it would’ve seemed like they were walking into an amusement park. But they all seemed just as lost as he was. He picked up his bow and slung it over his shoulder, and checked the strap on his quiver for the knife. Then he set his face straight, certain that he’d find a way back to the Omaticaya somehow, and soon. He wasn’t about to let his people suffer.

"Paixao," Squall answered simply. "A city inside a castle. No one really knows how we got here."

Oh sure, he had theories, and he probably wasn't the only one, but that wasn't answer. Not one he'd give to a new arrival. There was far too much he'd have to explain before his guesses would even make sense.

"There's a couple of places around." Presumably that was meant to answer the question about food prospects. (Why did he always seem to get the hungry newcomers?) "Squall, by the way." There was no offer of a hand to shake, but then again Squall wasn't really that sort of person.
