belldandy 002 | STORY | open/active

Character(s): Belldandy, anybody else.
Content: Belldandy takes a stroll throughout the now sunny Paixao.
Setting: Starts off near Irelia Apartments, but who knows where it'll end up?
Time: Morning.
Warnings: None, unless you make her angry. Which will be rather difficult to do. Unless you know the right buttons.

The morning sun was quite a sight to behold, especially considering that the past few weeks have been shrouded in darkness since her arrival. The Norn smiled happily as she finished cleaning up the apartment, now glad that she could venture outside without having to fend for her life. The encounter with Genie-san to confront Hades-san and Maleficent-san was quite the experience, since both Hades-san and Maleficent-san seemed to be this world's equivalent of Hild, the CEO of Hell.

In any case, Belldandy's familiar brown strands swayed with her movements as she took a deep breath, exhaling a familiar melody which always cheered her up. This might be a good time to get some tea, too... only, the plants were all artificial. Perhaps the stores had them? She certainly hoped that they had Darjeeling tea. A smile on her face, she made her way walking down the street as the melody leaving her lips echoed throughout the neighborhood's quiet atmosphere.

Hook could not quite recall why he had been drawn to the woman’s voice. Maybe it was curiosity or perhaps the song itself which he had oddly taken delight in. However, when one considered such things it seemed to lead to a very dangerous road. When the thought occurred to the captain he had merely brushed it off but it was not long before he had begun to develop a hunch; that it was in fact the irresistible call of a sirens song that had forced him to follow the woman. Though he knew the peril, he had certainly enough experience with the aquatic creatures to fend himself should it turn hostile. What a mermaid would be doing here of all places however remained a mystery. Not to be confused as absurd, of course. For a mermaid taking on the form of a human was not unheard of. The sea captain had heard far too many tales to fall for such trickery. If the woman had truly inhabited the sea though, she could prove incredibly useful. Hook could think of many ways to use her unique ability to his advantage giving him all the more reason to follow her.

He waited until the goddess finished her song before he revealed himself from the shadows. “Bravo, my dear. Bravo!” the pirate applauded by tapping his hook against his right hand. “A most impressive voice you have, enchanting almost.”

[ooc: Probably should have asked if it's cool if I pop Hook on in first. If not, lemme know.]

Confused as he was, the captain accepted her card. Goddess First Class, eh? How extraordinary. Why, this was far more appealing than any fish. Perhaps she could still be of future use to him. A goddess carried far more talents than any creature he could think of. However, this also made her far more dangerous. It would be wise to watch his steps around the woman if he were to pursue such a path. At the thought he smiled at the woman. “Your reputation precedes you; of both extraordinary charm and beauty you are, Miss Belldandy. It is a privilege to be graced by your presence, me lady.” Removing his hat, the pirate then bowed before Belldandy. “Pleases, allow a man such as me self to introduce himself. I am Captain James Hook of the Jolly Roger.”

The captain’s smile grew strained. That name, what was it? What had she just called him, Hook-san? Was that meant to be mocking? He wasn’t sure. She certainly had not been anything but polite so far. Still, he would take no chances. He had suffered enough ridicule from Pan and his Lost Boys to tolerate even the slightest derision. “Captain Hook,” he sternly corrected the goddess. “If you please.” The man quickly finished in his previously friendly tone. “It is not in my interests to be in any way a bother to you, madam. It is merely a small request in hopes to diminish a most arduous reminder of a particular jaunty jackanape.”

He paused for a moment and sighed. “Now I believe I’ve forgotten your question, my apologies. It was in regards to the city, was it not? I’m afraid I have not here all that long, though certainly enough to have taken a liking to it when it is not shrouded by darkness. It was to me own displeasure that I arrived in the heart of the calamity. How fortunate for such unusual ‘weather’, as you could call, to clear up so soon though. Old Hook could not imagine still wandering the streets, blind to the treasure around him.”

Hook ground his teeth together irritably. She was doing it on purpose, calling him that name specifically after he’d asked her not to. Did she get some sort of amusement out of this? Her smile certainly said so. He reached for his sword and gripped the handle tightly, struggling to refrain himself from any sudden rash course of action. After all, this was a goddess, a goddess who was driving his patients.

“Just Captain will do.” He said through clenched teeth. “Captain Hook. The ‘san’ is unnecessary.”

Necessary, was it? So was removing her tongue if such insolence were to continue. These names; ‘dono’, ‘kun’, ‘chan’? Was it just him or were these starting to sound worse than what she had started with? He watched her carefully. “As Hook had previously mentioned, it is his least desire to be of displeasure to you. However, a piece of advice: be it respect you wish to denote, you’d do best to drop such customs. To a pirate they are of little benediction.”

“Yarr, matey?” He repeated in disbelief. The captain stared blankly at Belldandy for a moment or two before he burst into laughter. “Oh, forgive me, my dear.” Hook said between laughs. “But me bilge rats give a greater growl than that! Be it a pirate you wish to be, Miss Belldandy, there be plenty of practice ahead of you. Perhaps you’d do best to continue to refer to Hook as Captain alone. There is no need to go on account just yet.”

With the last of his chuckles to escape me, Hook straightened up and cleared his throat. “However, I must ask, where is it you are off to on such a morning as this?”

“Indeed it is.” He agreed and nodded his head. “However, as lovely as it may seem, there is most certainly a dark side to it as well. What, with all those Heartless crawling about... Not to mention the harrowing crowd which seem to reside within City Hall! Do pardon me manners, Miss Belldandy, but it is my belief that such streets as these are unsafe for a lady. Please, if you would be so kind as to allow me to escort you on your walk, for an old pirate such as meself would feel all the better knowing that you are safe.”

Running off already was she? Such a shame. What was it that had caused her to truly decline? Did she somehow suspect ill of him? The captain wondered but did not ask Belldandy. Instead, he simply gave a crooked smile. “Of course, me lady. If that is what you wish, Hook can only respect your decision.” He said before removing his hat and bowing before the goddess. “I hope for a safe journey ahead of you, Miss Belldandy. Do take care. I hope this will not be the last we see of one another.”
