Someone's Been Sleeping In My Bed [Complete]

Character(s): Vyers, Laharl and Timon
Content: A swinging reunion takes place... In bed.
Setting: Vyer's Apartment
Time:  Week 12, Morning
Warnings: Two Three men, one bed.

Though it had been some time since he had called on the demon, only then had it seemed necessary. It assured him security; comfort, at most, just to know Vyers would allow him to stay. Someone still liked him. Trusted him. Though at this point Timon was not sure how well he trusted the mid-boss in return. He would never admit it but since his escape from the Organization’s clutches he had actually been avoiding the demon. Timon was sure the vain peacock hadn’t noticed, he failed to notice a lot of things, but in another way he was thankful. If Vyers could not tell something had held the meerkat back then there would be no questions regarding ‘what’, ‘why’ or even ‘who’ - not that Timon ever planned to give him a valid explanation. It simply avoided any awkwardness or role confusion between the two of them: for as far as Timon was concerned he was the brains of the operation. He wanted to appear as strong as possible in the demons eyes. Cool, calm, composed and in control. If he had shown up on the Dark Adonis’ doorstep as weak, lost and helpless as he had felt after his escape that powerful image would have surely been shattered.

The walk to the demon’s apartment had seemed short compared to the amount of thinking the rodent had managed to do in the same amount of time. The meerkat had thought enough about Vyers he worried he might have exceeded the man’s own thought of himself. Although, Timon had certainly not been admiring him… Not completely. What kind of mook left a window wide open in the middle of the night anyway? It was practically as large an invitation as leaving his front door open. Thankfully the demon had proved smart enough to at least keep it closed at this point.

Timon sighed and climbed down from the window and into the moonlit bedroom. He was sure the largest bed in the apartment was in this room, just as sure as that the mid-boss was sleeping in it, even before moving in for a closer look. The bed looked inviting; soft and comfortable while Vyers produced enough heat to be a furnace. The meerkat did not need to think twice before jumping onto the bed and curling up next to Vyers. Warmth, comfort, security: he needed it and it was there. All he had to do now was wake up before the demon and he would never know.

The meerkat closed his eyes and grinned. He was home.

While he hadn't fully moved on from his grief, Vyers had been slowly feeling better after he had let everything out. Some sleep, he had decided, would be nice.

The next morning Vyers blinked open his eyes, beginning to stir. Hm... was it morning already? It seemed too soon. Perhaps a few more minutes of sleep were in order. The demon shifted into a more comfortable position, his hand unexpectedly brushing up against something furry.

Vyers's eyes shot wide open and he immediately jumped out of bed with a cry of surprise, nearly taking the blankets with him. What had that been?! Had something crawled into bed with him when he wasn't looking? The window... The window was open! That must have been it, then! He looked around the room, quickly becoming dismayed when there was no broom to be found. A pillow would have to do.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Vyers stood there for a moment, blinking at the pillow on the floor. He could have sworn he heard Timon's voice just then. And hadn't that looked like...

...Oops.

Vyers ventured closer to the meerkat, slowly lifting up one edge of the pillow to see if Timon was all right.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, good, he wasn't injured. Granted, most of his actions had been more of a reflex than an actual attack. The demon picked up the fallen pillow and brushed it off, getting ready to take it back to the bed.

Vyers immediately straightened at Timon's accusations, crossing his arms in a huff, the corner of the pillow held in one hand. "You should have warned me you would be coming," he replied. "It is terribly rude to sneak into one's home without notice--more recent notice. I had no way of knowing that was you."

"And what took you so long?! To leave one waiting is nearly as rude!" he added. Deep down, Vyers had his own theories as to why Timon had waited, but he would rather not think about them (he harbored enough regrets over the situation to begin with).

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-26 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Vyers only bristled further at that. "You should warn someone before you sleep in their bed without their knowing! Do you know how many misunderstandings occur that way?! And one person's ability to sneak in does not mean I would not be prepared!" He had learned enough from the last time, and even then she hadn't used a window to get in.

But as Timon continued, Vyers seemed to deflate. Did he have to bring that up so soon? "It did," he replied, quieter this time. "It was... unexpected." He looked away from the meerkat, his eyes set on another wall.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-26 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Though he wouldn't admit it, Vyers was more than happy for the change of subject. Granted, he didn't particularly care for this subject either, but it was one more... familiar, he supposed, than the other. "Y-your bed?! It is mine! I was here first. There are many other places for you to sleep in here," he gestured to the rest of the room, "as well as many of the other rooms."

It was his apartment to begin with! After all, he had paid for it with his own "money," had he not?

"It was entirely possible that it could have been someone or something else. I did not see you at first." A part of him had been expecting some sort of Lumen, to be honest, and he would rather not run into another one of them for a long time if he were able.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Vyers frowned. He didn't remember making any deal of the sort, though he did remember claiming the bed. And that tone...! He made an affronted noise and stubbornly put his hands on his hips. "That was a hotel. This is an apartment that I have paid for. As such, this is my bed."

And he had no plans of giving up this room, either. And if Timon wouldn't find another room? Then Vyers would stay in his room anyway. Surely he would have no problems outlasting the meerkat.

Vyers' scowl disappeared as Timon continued. Find something for breakfast? Did they have anything? He supposed he could look. Perhaps there would be cereal in the kitchen. And he was rather hungry... Though nothing he could find would be anywhere as good as what she--

No! "Do not change the subject!" Although it was he who was trying to change the subject now. He just needed to try and put it all behind him.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
That earned a strangled, annoyed cry from the demon. "Money is not the point!" he shouted. The point was that it was his!

He took a moment to calm down before continuing. "It is polite to ask someone for something when you are their guest instead of demanding it." The thought of placing Timon outside the room did cross Vyers' mind, but he was still determined to win this battle of wills.

"My but you should learn some manners," he said with a sigh.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Vyers could only stare at Timon, his mouth opening and closing in silent rage. "M... My manners are perfect!" he finally managed to snap. Excellent, flawless! He had some of the best manners in the Netherworld! They were certainly better than Timon's!

And he wouldn't allow the meerkat to win so easily. Vyers intended to return even if he had to leave for awhile, of course, but the initial statement of his intentions was the most important!

The demon's stomach growled.

What horrible luck, for his body to betray him this way! Vyers scowled, crossing his arms and turning away in a huff. "Very well! But do not think I will not return!"

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Vyers was about to shoot off a retort when the meerkat's words finally sunk in. Had he... had Timon just thanked him? It had been faint, but yes. Yes, he was sure he had. Vyers turned, blinking at him in surprise, unsure how to respond.

...Well! It was good to see that his efforts were--in some manner--appreciated (as they should be). He truly was far too kind. There might be something in the kitchen the meerkat could have besides water. And for himself, as well.

"I will be back shortly," Vyers announced. "Do not get too comfortable."

The young Overlord hadn't noticed his father left, or he never would have gone into the older demon's room. Really, he never would have bothered with his father at all, but there was a problem: he was hungry. Flonne couldn't cook and now that his mom... Well, anyways, so that really left him with only one person to bother about food.

Peeking in, Laharl had been clearly expecting to find his father there.

"Old ma--"

However, that's not what he found.

He stood there staring at the bed for a few moments trying to figure out why the hell he was seeing Timon there curled up on the bed. Realizing that, yes, he REALLY was seeing the meerkat, Laharl then had to decide what to do about it.

The demon was still pretty pissed off at Timon and now here he was in his parent's room, curled up on their bed. What the hell? If it was merely his old man's room he wouldn't have cared, but it had also been his mother's.

Approaching the bedside, Laharl stood over the meerkat, poking his side.

"Oi, wake up!"

The Overlord was NOT happy.

"You've got thirty seconds before I throw you out the window to explain what the hell you're doing in here!"

A few pieces of burnt toast, some failed attempts at cooking eggs, and a huge mess in the kitchen later, Vyers finally managed to create something at least somewhat edible. It wasn't the most impressive of breakfasts, but he felt quite proud of the job he had done. He was getting much better at this if he did say so himself!

Of course, someone would have to take the trash out, as it was filled with earlier tries and it was now quickly approaching noon, but that was of little consequence.

Now he need only bring it back... Was there a tray around here somewhere?

...No, there wasn't.

Well... It seemed he would have to use his excellent skills of coordination and balance to bring the meal back.

Or he could just have everyone come to the kitchen. Hm, that sounded like a much better plan.

The demon brushed some flour from his sleeves before beginning to walk back to his room. He stopped halfway. Had he just heard Laharl yell at someone?

Perhaps he should have found Laharl first and let him know they had another guest...

Laharl's frown grew with each word out of the meerkat's mouth, none of which, he noted, actually explained anything. Obviously he was sleeping! The real question here was why? Why HERE?

"That wasn't an answer, dammit!" Laharl snapped, reaching out to grab the meerkat, catching him by the tail. In a couple quick strides he had Timon dangling dangerously out the window.

"I have a hell of a lot of good reasons to drop you, so start talking!" the Overlord threatened. Their latest conversations on the journals mostly came to mind when it came to reasons. He had no patience for Timon lately, and today would be no exception. Although, truthfully whether he'd actually drop the meerkat, he hadn't decided yet. It would largely depend on what Timon did now. If nothing else though, it would hopefully give the meerkat a good scare.

Vyers was only able to catch a few snippets of conversation, but it was enough to cause him to quicken his step as he neared the room. Yes, it was looking as though he definitely should have told Laharl they would be having a guest. Though he could have sworn he had told Timon. He remembered mentioning something about having others in the house in any case. Or he thought he did... But there was no time to think about that in too great of detail.

He hurried into the room just in time to see Laharl holding Timon out the window, letting out a (slightly panicked) cry of surprise. "He's a guest!" the demon cried, managing to calm himself not long after. Vyers straightened himself, attempting to hide the fact that he had been in such a state at all. "I said he could stay."

Geeeez... It was almost amazing how much noise something so small could make. Laharl had little sympathy for his old man's bedding. The young demon just silently glared at Timon as he pleaded, ignoring his father's words from behind for now.

"Anything, huh?" he finally said, breaking his silence.

It was really rather pathetic. In fact, after holding position for a good moment longer, that's pretty much what Laharl muttered under his breath, as he brought the meerkat back into the room, dropping him onto the bed unceremoniously. As much fun as it was to see the meerkat squirm, even Laharl didn't always enjoy picking on the total weak. Especially when they acted this pathetic.

"Anything. Don't think I'll forget that."

Well, this was going to be annoying. Why the hell his old man would invite Timon here, he couldn't even begin to fathom.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
...My, Timon could scream loudly. Even knowing how vocal the meerkat usually was, he was still surprised sometimes as to just how much Timon's voice could carry. Then again, with a situation like this...

Vyers took a step forward, ready to stop Laharl if necessary, but it seemed it wasn't, as Timon was set back down on the bed, out of harm's way for the time being. The situation, for the most part, diffused, Vyers approached the two. "Well, that could have gone better," he said aloud to himself. "Now, as I said, he is a guest. I should hope there won't be any more... situations now that this has been taken care of. After all, there is no need for violence is there..."

The demon trailed off, staring at the bed--more specifically, the sheets.

The beautiful, silk sheets.

The beautiful, expensive, silk sheets.

The beautiful, expensive, utterly ruined, silk sheets.

Vyers let out a horrified, despairing, ear-splitting wail, his hands clutching his head, and if one were to look closely, they would see tears at the corner of his eyes. "M-MY SHEETS! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SHEETS?!" Gingerly, Vyers tool hold of one of the corners, pulling it close to him as he silently mourned their death. And they had been one of the few things he was allowed to pick, too...

"Uh?" Laharl turned his head to look at his old man, only now realizing the demon was in here.

Speaking of pathetic-ness... The look on the boy's face was almost indescribable as he watched his father practically crying over the tacky sheets. It was almost painful to watch.

"Oi. Can't you just... go buy new ones?" Laharl suggested after a moment. It wasn't like they were all damaged. The bottom sheet and pillow cases should be fine and all.

[identity profile] mysterious-moi.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
To begin with, his sheets were hardly tacky. They were the pinnacle of comfort and elegance! Emblems of luxury... the very best! The money he had poured into them... The loving care he had taken...! Even if it was only for all of four weeks, what terrible loss!

But one could not mourn for too long. No, no, not when there were others in the room. Perhaps a later time.

Or he could follow Laharl's suggestion and buy new sheets, but he would rather the guilty party pay for them. Maybe he would be able to guilt Timon into it somehow. And if not, a bit of pressure would suffice.

Vyers stood taller with a small cough. "Breakfast is ready, should anyone be hungry."
