Someone's Been Sleeping In My Bed [Complete]
Character(s): Vyers, Laharl and Timon
Content: A swinging reunion takes place... In bed.
Setting: Vyer's Apartment
Time: Week 12, Morning
Warnings:Two Three men, one bed.
Though it had been some time since he had called on the demon, only then had it seemed necessary. It assured him security; comfort, at most, just to know Vyers would allow him to stay. Someone still liked him. Trusted him. Though at this point Timon was not sure how well he trusted the mid-boss in return. He would never admit it but since his escape from the Organization’s clutches he had actually been avoiding the demon. Timon was sure the vain peacock hadn’t noticed, he failed to notice a lot of things, but in another way he was thankful. If Vyers could not tell something had held the meerkat back then there would be no questions regarding ‘what’, ‘why’ or even ‘who’ - not that Timon ever planned to give him a valid explanation. It simply avoided any awkwardness or role confusion between the two of them: for as far as Timon was concerned he was the brains of the operation. He wanted to appear as strong as possible in the demons eyes. Cool, calm, composed and in control. If he had shown up on the Dark Adonis’ doorstep as weak, lost and helpless as he had felt after his escape that powerful image would have surely been shattered.
The walk to the demon’s apartment had seemed short compared to the amount of thinking the rodent had managed to do in the same amount of time. The meerkat had thought enough about Vyers he worried he might have exceeded the man’s own thought of himself. Although, Timon had certainly not been admiring him… Not completely. What kind of mook left a window wide open in the middle of the night anyway? It was practically as large an invitation as leaving his front door open. Thankfully the demon had proved smart enough to at least keep it closed at this point.
Timon sighed and climbed down from the window and into the moonlit bedroom. He was sure the largest bed in the apartment was in this room, just as sure as that the mid-boss was sleeping in it, even before moving in for a closer look. The bed looked inviting; soft and comfortable while Vyers produced enough heat to be a furnace. The meerkat did not need to think twice before jumping onto the bed and curling up next to Vyers. Warmth, comfort, security: he needed it and it was there. All he had to do now was wake up before the demon and he would never know.
The meerkat closed his eyes and grinned. He was home.

The next morning Vyers blinked open his eyes, beginning to stir. Hm... was it morning already? It seemed too soon. Perhaps a few more minutes of sleep were in order. The demon shifted into a more comfortable position, his hand unexpectedly brushing up against something furry.
Vyers's eyes shot wide open and he immediately jumped out of bed with a cry of surprise, nearly taking the blankets with him. What had that been?! Had something crawled into bed with him when he wasn't looking? The window... The window was open! That must have been it, then! He looked around the room, quickly becoming dismayed when there was no broom to be found. A pillow would have to do.
no subject
The meerkat flew back, across the bed and onto the floor opposite to where the frantic demon stood. There was a soft thump heard, followed by groan when the pillow landed atop Timon. His exposed paw twitched in both pain and anger. If the rodent hadn’t planned to yell at Vyers before he certainly did now. Once he regained consciousness, anyway.
no subject
...Oops.
Vyers ventured closer to the meerkat, slowly lifting up one edge of the pillow to see if Timon was all right.
no subject
Yeah, he was fine.
After a brief moment to collect himself Timon threw the pillow off of him – well, more like pushed. The rodent wasn’t nearly that strong. The pillow was too big for him to simply toss aside. Besides, he hadn’t done any heavy lifting in some time. It wasn’t his fault he was out of shape. Out of habit he dusted himself off before taking a familiar status before the demon; paws planted firmly to hips, foot tapping impatiently and narrowed eyes glaring at the demon expectantly. As if it weren’t obvious enough an explanation was clearly desired. “What the heck is your problem?!’ he shouted. ”You had better have a good explanation for this! I was right in the middle of a good dream.”
no subject
Vyers immediately straightened at Timon's accusations, crossing his arms in a huff, the corner of the pillow held in one hand. "You should have warned me you would be coming," he replied. "It is terribly rude to sneak into one's home without notice--more recent notice. I had no way of knowing that was you."
"And what took you so long?! To leave one waiting is nearly as rude!" he added. Deep down, Vyers had his own theories as to why Timon had waited, but he would rather not think about them (he harbored enough regrets over the situation to begin with).
no subject
“I don’t have to explain myself to you. I can do whatever I want.” He turned away from the demon and glared at the wall. “I was busy, alright? A lot happened while I was gone… A lot happened to you too from what I hear.”
no subject
But as Timon continued, Vyers seemed to deflate. Did he have to bring that up so soon? "It did," he replied, quieter this time. "It was... unexpected." He looked away from the meerkat, his eyes set on another wall.
no subject
“Yeah, well. This place is just full of surprises.” He said. “Like finding you in my bed. If anyone should have been warned, it was me. In case you had forgotten, I’m the victim here. You attacked ME! I mean, who else did you think it was? Name one guy who comes even close to passing as me. One. Thought of any? No! Because there is none!”
no subject
It was his apartment to begin with! After all, he had paid for it with his own "money," had he not?
"It was entirely possible that it could have been someone or something else. I did not see you at first." A part of him had been expecting some sort of Lumen, to be honest, and he would rather not run into another one of them for a long time if he were able.
no subject
In the time the demon had spent starting at the wall in front of him the rodent had found no trouble in making his way back onto the bed. With little concern for neither the demon nor his possible actions, Timon stretched out on his back, he folded his arms behind his head and closed his eyes. After sleeping outside on the hard crystal grass it felt nice to lie on the soft fabric again. A soft little satisfied sigh escaped him.
“You should go find something for breakfast; it’ll help take your mind off all this.”
no subject
And he had no plans of giving up this room, either. And if Timon wouldn't find another room? Then Vyers would stay in his room anyway. Surely he would have no problems outlasting the meerkat.
Vyers' scowl disappeared as Timon continued. Find something for breakfast? Did they have anything? He supposed he could look. Perhaps there would be cereal in the kitchen. And he was rather hungry... Though nothing he could find would be anywhere as good as what she--
No! "Do not change the subject!" Although it was he who was trying to change the subject now. He just needed to try and put it all behind him.
no subject
If Vyers thought he could outlast Timon he was wrong. Very wrong. If there was one thing he was known for it was stubbornness. Well, actually there were a few things he was known for, but stubbornness was definitely one of them. Without it there was no way the meerkat would have lasted so long with the belief that he would be Mayor, nor gotten nearly as far as he had in the city as he had now. When there was a will, there was a way. If the demon had any chance of getting the rodent to leave he would have to use force, something Timon knew he never would.
On that note the meerkat opened his eyes and sat up to look at the Dark Adonis. “Well, what are you still standing here for?”
no subject
He took a moment to calm down before continuing. "It is polite to ask someone for something when you are their guest instead of demanding it." The thought of placing Timon outside the room did cross Vyers' mind, but he was still determined to win this battle of wills.
"My but you should learn some manners," he said with a sigh.
no subject
The meerkat lay back down on the bed and closed his eyes. For a moment he seemed content until he blindly began patting around him, searching of a blanket. It did not take him long before he managed to catch the corner of one, at which point he struggled to pull the rest of the fabric closer. However, he did succeed and in doing so he turned onto his side and curled up around the ball he had made out of the fabric. A large yawn escaped him; he wasn't going anywhere.
no subject
And he wouldn't allow the meerkat to win so easily. Vyers intended to return even if he had to leave for awhile, of course, but the initial statement of his intentions was the most important!
The demon's stomach growled.
What horrible luck, for his body to betray him this way! Vyers scowled, crossing his arms and turning away in a huff. "Very well! But do not think I will not return!"
no subject
And yet, even after his spiteful behaviour, Timon did the last thing anyone expected: he thanked Vyers. The demon’s back may have been turned and the words almost mumbled but they were spoken none the less. He appreciated what the man had done for him. “Thank you.”
no subject
...Well! It was good to see that his efforts were--in some manner--appreciated (as they should be). He truly was far too kind. There might be something in the kitchen the meerkat could have besides water. And for himself, as well.
"I will be back shortly," Vyers announced. "Do not get too comfortable."
no subject
He curled up once again and fell back asleep while he awaited the demons return. The sound of his snoring soon filled the room. There was no point in really waiting for him. Who knew how long he would take?
no subject
Peeking in, Laharl had been clearly expecting to find his father there.
"Old ma--"
However, that's not what he found.
He stood there staring at the bed for a few moments trying to figure out why the hell he was seeing Timon there curled up on the bed. Realizing that, yes, he REALLY was seeing the meerkat, Laharl then had to decide what to do about it.
The demon was still pretty pissed off at Timon and now here he was in his parent's room, curled up on their bed. What the hell? If it was merely his old man's room he wouldn't have cared, but it had also been his mother's.
Approaching the bedside, Laharl stood over the meerkat, poking his side.
"Oi, wake up!"
The Overlord was NOT happy.
"You've got thirty seconds before I throw you out the window to explain what the hell you're doing in here!"
no subject
Of course, someone would have to take the trash out, as it was filled with earlier tries and it was now quickly approaching noon, but that was of little consequence.
Now he need only bring it back... Was there a tray around here somewhere?
...No, there wasn't.
Well... It seemed he would have to use his excellent skills of coordination and balance to bring the meal back.
Or he could just have everyone come to the kitchen. Hm, that sounded like a much better plan.
The demon brushed some flour from his sleeves before beginning to walk back to his room. He stopped halfway. Had he just heard Laharl yell at someone?
Perhaps he should have found Laharl first and let him know they had another guest...
no subject
Poking of his side? The meerkat frowned in realization that something was irritably jabbing into his side. In response to this he rolled onto his side, his back to the demon. And here Vyers had been bragging about how great a man of manners he was. Ha! If disrupting him from his sleep like this wasn’t rude, Timon didn’t know what was. He’d let that Mid-Boss have it… In a moment or two. There was no reason to get up just quite yet. Besides, the demon could wait. He’d made him wait. A few extra winks couldn’t hurt.
Then again, he’d been wrong before.
Timon’s eyes snapped open. This wasn’t Vyers threatening him, it was Laharl. He quickly turned his head to face the demon, looking more alarmed than anything else - at least, for a moment. By the time the Overlord had finished his sentence the meerkat had returned to a usual state of carelessness.
“Well there’s a fine hello.” Was the exasperated reply that came from the redhead. “I know how excited you are to see me again and all but couldn’t you have waited till I actually got up?” He brought his head down again and yawned. “I was kind of in the middle of something. You may not have noticed this but I was actually sleeping before I was so rudely awoken by someone. That’s what I was doing here. What are you doing here?”
no subject
"That wasn't an answer, dammit!" Laharl snapped, reaching out to grab the meerkat, catching him by the tail. In a couple quick strides he had Timon dangling dangerously out the window.
"I have a hell of a lot of good reasons to drop you, so start talking!" the Overlord threatened. Their latest conversations on the journals mostly came to mind when it came to reasons. He had no patience for Timon lately, and today would be no exception. Although, truthfully whether he'd actually drop the meerkat, he hadn't decided yet. It would largely depend on what Timon did now. If nothing else though, it would hopefully give the meerkat a good scare.
no subject
He hurried into the room just in time to see Laharl holding Timon out the window, letting out a (slightly panicked) cry of surprise. "He's a guest!" the demon cried, managing to calm himself not long after. Vyers straightened himself, attempting to hide the fact that he had been in such a state at all. "I said he could stay."
no subject
“Hey, what are you doing? Put me down right now! I mean it, stop it! Just where do you think you’re going? H-hey, wait. Let’s not do anything we’re going to regret now. Laharl, are you listening? Laharl… LAHARL! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, STOP! VYERS! VYEEEEEEEEERS! I have acrophobia! I get nervous just playing jump rope. AAAAAAAAAAAHHH! Oh, please, please, Laharl. Don’t do it! I’m- I’m sorry! I just wanted somewhere to stay! Vyers said it was okay. I didn’t know you were here, honest! I’ll do anything! Anything! ANYTHING!”
no subject
"Anything, huh?" he finally said, breaking his silence.
It was really rather pathetic. In fact, after holding position for a good moment longer, that's pretty much what Laharl muttered under his breath, as he brought the meerkat back into the room, dropping him onto the bed unceremoniously. As much fun as it was to see the meerkat squirm, even Laharl didn't always enjoy picking on the total weak. Especially when they acted this pathetic.
"Anything. Don't think I'll forget that."
Well, this was going to be annoying. Why the hell his old man would invite Timon here, he couldn't even begin to fathom.
no subject
Vyers took a step forward, ready to stop Laharl if necessary, but it seemed it wasn't, as Timon was set back down on the bed, out of harm's way for the time being. The situation, for the most part, diffused, Vyers approached the two. "Well, that could have gone better," he said aloud to himself. "Now, as I said, he is a guest. I should hope there won't be any more... situations now that this has been taken care of. After all, there is no need for violence is there..."
The demon trailed off, staring at the bed--more specifically, the sheets.
The beautiful, silk sheets.
The beautiful, expensive, silk sheets.
The beautiful, expensive, utterly ruined, silk sheets.
Vyers let out a horrified, despairing, ear-splitting wail, his hands clutching his head, and if one were to look closely, they would see tears at the corner of his eyes. "M-MY SHEETS! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SHEETS?!" Gingerly, Vyers tool hold of one of the corners, pulling it close to him as he silently mourned their death. And they had been one of the few things he was allowed to pick, too...
no subject
When the Overlord had finally done so, the redhead immediately sprung off the bed and hid behind Vyers. True, he had not been nearly as useful as the redhead had hoped but at this point he would surely defend the meerkat from anything Laharl would try next. At least, before he had noticed what Timon had done to his precious bed sheets. Even before the man’s painful cry Timon had sensed something was about to go even more wrong. As a result he began to step away from the demon and shuffle nervously toward the doorway.
In the end they were only blankets, right? How mad could Vyers be?
“Ah, oops.”
no subject
Speaking of pathetic-ness... The look on the boy's face was almost indescribable as he watched his father practically crying over the tacky sheets. It was almost painful to watch.
"Oi. Can't you just... go buy new ones?" Laharl suggested after a moment. It wasn't like they were all damaged. The bottom sheet and pillow cases should be fine and all.
no subject
But one could not mourn for too long. No, no, not when there were others in the room. Perhaps a later time.
Or he could follow Laharl's suggestion and buy new sheets, but he would rather the guilty party pay for them. Maybe he would be able to guilt Timon into it somehow. And if not, a bit of pressure would suffice.
Vyers stood taller with a small cough. "Breakfast is ready, should anyone be hungry."
no subject
"Uh... I think I'll pass."
