Content: Mama's disappeared... Vyers is not taking it well. :<
Setting: Eh... M5ish?
Time: Week 12, not long after Laharl's journal entry
Warnings: The icon's kind of a clue. .___. Also minor unnatural disasters caused by an angsting demon.Note: This isn't a modplot. Just... yeah, angsty Vyers at an ironic time.
He felt sick to his stomach. She was gone. Right out from underneath his nose.
He had decided to try and get away from the pain. He had walked across the city and back again attempting to sort out his thoughts and decide what to do, but he always returned to the same train of thought.
Twice.
Twice he had failed to protect someone. Twice he had not been there to keep someone safe. And this time... This time it was her who he had let down. She had not made a decision this time. There had been nothing to talk her out of, no sacrifice to be made. She was just... gone. Would he lose his son to his negligence next?
Larxene's words haunted him now more than ever. It had been so easy to push them off to the side before, but now? Now they were hard to ignore. How could he? He was face-to-face with his own failings, was he not?
Beauty. Intelligence. Kindness. Power. He had them all and yet, somehow... What had gone wrong?
Guilt, grief, and frustration continued to build within him, filling his body and twisting his stomach into tighter knots. As the demon fell to his knees, he released it all with a pained cry, a choked sob...
And for a moment the world shook.
