The Merrymakers [Completed]
Character(s): Belldandy, Genie
Content: Definitely Not Plotting Of Any Sort
Setting: Iriela Apartments
Time: Week 10, Unknown
Warnings: None.
Her name had a ring to it (pun intended). Belldandy, he thought to himself. Even after being introduced to the goddess by her elder sister he was still, if not more so now, eager to meet her. Urd had told him quite a bit about Belldandy and her situation - or rather what it had been given Paixao’s intrusion and all. Keiichi, living on Earth, Heaven… It was all quite touching though equally as worrisome when it threatened to unbalance things. He was curious as to what her thoughts were on all this however would do his best to restrain from asking such personal questions. After all, such matters were not his business.
Genie wondered how Urd had taken her sisters arrival. From what he remembered she had been rather relieved she hadn’t been stuck in the city. Perhaps she had felt Belldandy was safer at home, he knew he certainly felt the same. Although, having Aladdin around would have certainly helped. The boy was a lot smarter than him when it came to plotting against a villain. If he were there he would already have a plan all laid out and be half way through it by now where as the genie was beginning to feel doubts. His plan only went so far. If he had to he would overpower Maleficent but it was only a last resort, one that he wasn’t even sure he could pull off. Who knew how powerful the witch was. After all, she was the ‘Mistress of All Evil’.
With little light to guide him through the streets, the genie found himself making a number of sharp turns to avoid flying into any buildings. He would have simply followed the string to the ‘telephone’ he had given to Urd but Belldandy had not made it clear or not whether or not she still possessed it. She did not leave far from him though, so going without it he was sure he could find his way to her apartment. The only trouble was finding her room again.

She did not leave far from him though, so going without it he was sure he could find his way to her apartment. The only trouble was finding her room again.

"It's a pleasure to be able to meet you in person, Genie-san!" A sincerely warm smile made itself known on her face, as she made out Genie's figure in the dimly lit hallway.

He froze in front of the doorway, completely surprised by the goddess’ sudden appearance. A smile quickly found itself across his features though. Without hesitation he flew toward Belldandy, took her hand and shook it happily. “Belldandy!” the djinn shouted. His warm blue glow practically lit up the doorway as well as the rest of the hallway around him. “Thank you but the pleasure is all mine. I must ask though, however did you know I was coming? I haven’t kept you waiting that long, have I?”
no subject
Opening the door for him, she invited him in. "Would you appreciate some tea, or some other snacks while you're our guest, Genie-san?"
no subject
Entering the apartment he examined the room, surprised to find it exactly the way Urd had left it. He wasn’t quite sure where he got the impression Belldandy would move her sister’s things but apparently he had been wrong. His eyes drifted curiously to her business card as he read it over. “I need to get me some of these.”

"Now, as to not waste your time, I believe we should discuss what to do about this darkness." Belldandy poured Genie some tea, though her face was just as sweet as ever despite the somber topic at hand. "I don't mean to be rude, as a newcomer to Paixao being so bold, but if Maleficent-san is causing trouble for everybody, I as a Goddess First Class as my duty must face her."
no subject
“Thank you.” Genie said as he took his cup. “I don’t want to intrude in the affairs of another world, disturb the world order and all that, but Maleficent herself has done just that. I suspected her of trouble and since the recent events to unfold have found that she is still up to her old ways.” He paused to take a sip of his tea, surprisingly serious from how frolicsome he had been mere seconds ago. “Thankfully she hasn’t put us all to sleep. That would just be inconvenient. She’s quite the powerful witch though. Has your sister kept you up to date with what we’ve been doing?”
no subject
She joined her sister and Genie at the table, sitting down with casual grace to pop open the sake bottle and pour herself a generous drink. Glancing at Genie, she smirked before taking a drink. "Now we just need ourselves a hero."
no subject
"Is a hero necessary?" Belldandy blinked as she tilted her head. Certainly that was the way things were in faerie tale books, but perhaps... "If we undo my seal, I may be able to access more power, and we may stand a greater chance." Certainyl it was a breach of regulations, but they were outside of Yggdrasil's jurisdiction.

“Of course it is. We should stick as close to the story as possible. It was Prince Phillip who broke through Maleficent’s sea of thorns armed with his enchanted shield of virtue and mighty sword of truth. Flora said that it was these weapons of righteousness would triumph over evil. Unfortunately we don’t have a prince so I chose a hero with the purest heart I know. He’s faced the likes of Maleficent before and I trust he will triumph again.” Genie paused for a moment, looking at his tea thoughtfully. “The only trouble now is that he happens to be on the wrong side of the thorns. Maleficent must have seen this coming.”
no subject
"...maybe I can find a way to bring him in while you two have your peace talk with Maleficent," she mused. "It won't be a problem for me to get out. Getting back in, though..."

“We’ll distract her.” He calmly replied. “While Belldandy and I have our friendly chat with her Sora can cut down the thorns blocking at least one of the entrances and hopefully the ones at City Hall as well. You, Urd, can bring him the Club of Truth.” The genie revealed the well wrapped golf club and placed it on the table in front of them. “We should all still be able to teleport to the other side of her thorns. She couldn’t possibly put some sort of spell to prevent it. After all, she still needs a way to travel in and out of City Hall and the city herself.”

"And if our chat with Maleficent-san turns unfriendly..." Belldandy looked down at the table at her tea cup between her hands. "Well, I will use all of the power at my disposal to buy Sora-san time."
no subject
The djinn paused to consider Belldandy’s idea then scratched his head. “Do you think it would it eliminate a few steps?” Genie did not wish to sound rude but it sounded as though the goddess did not want her sister involved. Perhaps to allow her more rest? He held his tongue by bringing his cup to his mouth and taking a sip of his tea.

Genie glanced at his freshly poured tea for a moment after this, his eyes narrowing in thought before he downed half his cup and looked up at the two goddesses once again. “You don’t suppose we should make a ‘Plan B’ before we go, do you?”
no subject
Of course, having no way of knowing what Maleficent's biology was or how it worked, the likelihood of the pill working as predicted was pretty low, but Urd didn't seem to think about such a small issue.

“As a last resort.” He assured Belldandy. “I’m sure it will work fine, I’m just not sure if it’s the right thing to do. If we had to maybe we could put it in a fruitcake and offer it as a housewarming gift? After all, who doesn’t love fruitcake? Maleficent wouldn’t be able to resist.”
no subject
"Okay," she said now, gently taking the concealed Club of Truth. She stood from the table, glancing between Genie and Belldandy. "I'll bring this to our brave hero now."
no subject
She then turned to Genie. "A fruitcake sounds like a wonderful idea! I'll go ahead into the kitchen and begin baking one up right away!" She smiled, as she happily made her way to the kitchen.

With that, he turned to join Belldandy in the kitchen. Hopefully she wouldn’t get too carried away. Much to Genie’s disappointment they hadn’t the time to make anything too particularly fancy for the mistress. There was much to do and very little time to do it in.

As the Club of Truth thrummed with magical might in her hands, Urd left the apartment and headed out into the darkness in search of a hero.
