The streets are alive with the sound of Heartless~~~ [Active]

Character(s): Hades, anyone having ah... issues in the area, I suppose? XD
Content: Hades. Lawn chair. Relaxation!
Setting: Somewhere between Paixao Central Station [J6] and Folio's Weaponry [J5]
Time: Week 10, a few hours after the infestation
Warnings: None atm.

ooc: I am actually on hiatus for a bit, so if anyone bugs him, replies may be slow.

Urd's previous egging-on aside, Hades still had respect for the Mistress of Evil, and as much as he wanted to show her up, he kept his cool. He'd even had kept out of the way and let the darkness fester, calming much more than previously. It was amusing, after all, to hear about the problems of others.

Hades laughs, snapping his fingers, curling a dark smoke between them, and out on the ground a lawn chair pops into existence. Around him, the Heartless are shifting in floods. "Get along, kids!" he calls, circling his chair and grinning wider. Darkness was so easy to pull together, only naive people thought otherwise.

Like Ico. He was slightly curious about what happened to that kid. And his girl, the annoying brat... she was getting much less annoying. Maybe she could be useful for something after all. Be 'friends.' Wouldn't that aggravate some people!

Heh.

Hades sweeps around the chair again before lounging down in it, folding his hands behind his head and whistling. He was looking forward to hearing the moan and groans of the people trapped in the domed city.

"Ah, there you are, Hades. Enjoying the show?"

She stepped from the darkness, moving through the heartless easily, unhindered. She'd been watching what she could from the top of city hall, but she'd wondered where Hades had vanished. She would have thought he'd be off causing more trouble, but instead here he was, sitting around.

That was fine, of course, there was little at this point for them to do, but keep watch and stay mindful. Even she'd let her guard down a little too much in the past. It had been a mistake that she would not make twice.

Genie might not have been difficult to spot in the thick fog of darkness but neither had Hades or Maleficent. When approaching city hall the jinni had noticed the pair’s unusual presence instantly. He turned to Belldandy and shared a nervous smile. “I may have forgotten one teensy-weensy detail about Maleficent.” The djinn began, hoping she would be more understanding about the matter then her sister would. “With her both Hades, Lord of the Dead, and Jafar, possibly the most powerful sorcerer in the world, happen to reside.” He paused for a moment, avoiding eye contact with the goddess while he twiddled his fingers anxiously. “That’s not going to be a problem now, is it?”

“I don’t see old Sultan Pepper Shaker anywhere.” The genie continued after taking a better look at their surroundings. “If we’re lucky he might not even show up! I think as long as we play it cool and somehow find way to separate Maleficent from Hades we should be fine. I think he’s less likely to notice than she is. If not, we can always improvise.” Approaching the two villains fearlessly he winked at Belldandy.

“Why, hello, hello! We’re not interrupting anything, are we?” Genie’s smile was ear to ear as he greeted the two. “I hope you don’t mind, we just happened to be out for a nightly stroll and thought we’d pop by for a little visit. We heard you’re new to the neighbourhood and thought we’d welcome you. We even brought you a fruitcake!” He gestured to the cake in the goddesses hands. “You’ll have to try some. Belldandy’s baking is just to die for and - Oh, well would you look at me. Where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I am – drum rolls please - the Genie of the Laaaaaaamp~!”

The Goddess First Class simply clapped along enthusiastically with Genie's introduction. "Allow me to introduce myself; I am Belldandy, Goddess First Class, Category Two, Unrestricted. I'm a new arrival in Paixao, and I thought it would be nice to go around and meet my new neighbors! I do hope we get along." Her melodic voice had no trace of insincerity. She was reluctant about using the Virtue Volumizer, which was why she hadn't put it inside of the fruitcake yet, but Belldandy was always up for sharing her cooking skills with those who enjoyed to eat.

Genie's quick dissertation on the resident villains of Paixao made Belldandy a bit concerned, especially since she hadn't experienced any beings more powerful than the gods who resided in the tenth dimension. Given that her elder sister Urd was more powerful than Belldandy, and she was cautious around these individuals, Belldandy had very much cause for concern. However, it didn't show on her face; she was also exhilarated to a degree to meet such powerful beings. Even if they were evil, Belldandy truly believed that it was those who were pure of heart and mind who fortune smiled upon in the end.

Maleficent turned towards the two, a little surprised anyone had the gall to just come up to them like this. A genie and a goddess? How very interesting indeed.

She raised an eyebrow at the gestured to cake, looking momentarily uncertain of what exactly to make of this as much as Hades was. It was hard to believe they could possibly be serious. What exactly did they hope to accomplish? Surely they were not just out here to give them cake.

Slowly she allowed a pleasant smile to etch her features. The best way to find out what all this was about was to play along. "Why, how thoughtful of you," she said, in a equally pleasant voice.

Hades look surprised. In all fairness their arrival had been unexpected though. Surely that had to be it. Genie failed to think for a second it could be anything otherwise – unless, he was a big fan of fruitcake. That made the most sense. He nodded in response to the god. “Oh, I didn’t know you liked fruitcake so much! Perfect. And here we had been worried, Belldandy. We spent hours trying decide on what to bring before deciding on fruitcake. It seemed perfect since, honestly, who doesn’t love fruitcake?” The genie chuckled at this.

“I’m flattered you remembered me.” He continued, waving a hand at the god while he blushed. “I remember you too.” The jinni then turned to Maleficent with a smile which refused to fall. “As for the Mistress of Evil who I could never forget. As I was saying though, we were hoping we could get to know one another a little better. Moving into a new neighbourhood can always be sooo intimidating. What better way to feel more welcome?”

Genie's animated nature made Belldandy giggle; it felt like forever since she's seen anybody so lively, especially in such a dreary situation; he didn't seem to be forcing it, either. "Well, if fruitcake doesn't suit your tastes, I could always make something else." She offered, a smile still present on her face. She held it up. "I'm not familiar with this recipe, but if you prefer a more traditional dish or confection, I'd be more than happy to oblige!" She offered.

While Maleficent had been willing to play along, it seemed Hades had no patience for it today.

"Now, now, there is no reason to be so disagreeable, Hades," Maleficent said the the god with a look of mock disapproval. Had he really not caught on to what she was attempting to do? Well, no matter. She could still work around him.

Turning back to the goddess and genie, she smiled once more. "However, it would be wise to heed Hades' words." She gestured towards the Heartless. Of course, the two villains were the true danger, but she was not about to point that out just yet.

Well, wasn’t Hades just Mister Manners himself? The genies smile fell while a scowl appeared in place of it. There was no reason to be rude, regardless what sort of reputation he had to uphold. He could have just said he didn’t like fruitcake in the first place – though Belldandy’s baking would have surely changed that if the god were brave enough to taste it. There was an amusing thought. There he was, a god, afraid of a mere fruitcake! The very same god who was supposedly ruler the Underworld. Genie shook his head. Such a shame to see perfectly good fruitcake wasted and embarrassment to the other gods, but mostly the fruitcake.

He turned his attention back to Maleficent he found she had addressed Belldandy and himself again. His smile returned but was much smaller than the last. “I appreciate your concern as much as Belldandy, I’m sure, however we both knew there might be some risk involved when coming over. To make things perfectly clear though, we came to talk, not fight.”

A bit taken aback at Hades' rather uncouth display of basic manners, Belldandy let out a small gasp when he pointed his finger at her, holding the fruitcake firmly with a fairly surprised expression. Did he not like gifts? That seemed like a tragic manner in which to live! "Should trouble arise..." Belldandy once again put on a smile, looking straight at both Maleficent and Hades, "Both Genie-san and I are more than perfectly capable of defending ourselves." She responded.

Turning to face Maleficent, her smile did not falter. "Perhaps you would like to partake in this fruitcake, Maleficent-san? It's my first time making one, but if you dislike it, I could always make something else." She reiterated. After all, what was a gift if you didn't take into consideration the others' feelings? "But Genie-san is correct. I may be a new arrival to Paixao, but I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to lift up this darkness. It is rather inconvenient for everybody else I've met so far, so I hope we can reach a compromise."

((...I'm sure I wrote a tag for this. I was really sure. DX))

Hades wasn't the only one to laugh at Belldandy's plead. Maleficent also tilted her head back, letting out a laugh. So that's what they wanted? They thought a gift of food would convince them to release the spell? Naive fools.

"I'll accept your 'fruitcake', but the darkness, I'm afraid my dear, is here to stay," she replied, attempting to return to a somewhat straight face, but the amusement was hard to hide. If nothing else, this meeting had been good for a chuckle.
