Reunion [Completed]
Character(s): Urd and Belldandy
Content: Urd finds her sister and brings her up to speed about Paixao.
Setting: Towards Joutenheim and ending at Iriela Apartments.
Time: Dark O'clock, Week 9
Warnings: None.
Of course it wasn't completely unexpected that Belldandy was here. If the city could bring Urd here, it wasn't outside the realm of reason to assume that her sister could be transported here as well. Even if she was a higher ranking goddess. Even if there was a certain connection that was supposed to be unbreakable...
In the total pitch black of the city without light, Urd flew across the sky carefully. The spell of night vision she had put into effect was already fading, but it was enough to avoid the curious loss of equilibrium. It did nothing, however, to settle the confusion she felt in her heart. On one hand, it would be wonderful to see Belldandy again, to introduce her to the friends she had made here, to feel the calming balm of the younger woman's presence. But Belldandy would be trapped here, just as Urd was. Blocked from their younger sister and blocked from Keiichi.
Sighing, Urd descended when she felt the unmistakable and familiar signature of divine energy. Holding out one hand, she softly muttered a spell, a small globe of light appearing over her head. It would only be temporary, but once she saw her sister, they could both transport to her apartment.
"Belldandy?" she called, brow furrowed.

Bowing politely to her elder sister, Belldandy agreed. "Indeed, thank you very much, Nee-san." Taking her elder sister's hand, Belldandy entrusted herself to her.

"Welcome to my home away from home," Urd said, releasing Belldandy's hand to walk towards the open kitchen. She gestured over her shoulder towards a low, round table in the center of the room, surrounded by plush cushions. The entire apartment was decorated in an elegant but rich flair, toeing the line between Asian and Moroccan. "What tea would you like?" Even as she spoke about tea, she was withdrawing a rather large sake bottle from a cabinet.
no subject
"Darjeeling, of course." Belldandy answered. "That is, if you have it."
no subject
She tipped back the cup, draining it with gusto and poured another. "Magic here works in ways completely unfamiliar to me. No programs, no subroutines, no codes. It just seems to...exist." Looking down into the half-empty cup of sake, Urd frowned. "And we're certainly not the most powerful beings here. The darkness spell currently affecting the city was cast by a dark fairy and no one here, from god to wizard to genie, can stop it." She glanced at Belldandy, expression grim. "We're out of our element here, Bell. I almost wish you hadn't come..."
no subject
"Yet, we are still able to use it?" Belldandy sighed, responding to Urd's explanation of magic, looking into her cup of tea without taking a sip. This was quite odd, but Belldandy wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. However, at Urd's last statement, Belldandy adamantly shook her head. "Nee-san, please don't say that! I've come here because I'm certain there's a reason; I must be here because there is a need for me to be here." Even if it takes me away from Keiichi-san... "And besides that, the thought of you being alone here makes me sad; if my being here can cheer you up to any degree, then that's enough for me."
no subject
"...it's okay," she finally said quietly, her gaze kind and loving even as her lips curved into an arrogant smirk. "I'm not alone here, actually. I mean, you're the first person from our dimension that I've seen, but I've made some good friends here." She bowed her head, hair falling over an eye. "Some very good friends."

She lowered her gaze to the table, eyes distant. "Then there's Genie...he's been my most invaluable ally here." She closed her eyes, smiling as she recalled the djinn. "He has power comparable to a first class god but never abuses it. All he cares about is spreading joy."
no subject
"I'm glad to hear that you've made such wonderful friends here in Paixao!" Belldandy cheerily quipped. "Genie must also be a wonderful companion, Urd. I'd love to meet all of them when we get the chance!"

She sighed, absently flipping her hair off her shoulder. "The money here seems to be anything you feel like trading for goods. Most visitors use the leaves and flowers here as currency -- you can't see it now, but with the exception of the garden I planted on the roof, most of the foliage here is fake...made from gold and jewels, that sort of thing."
no subject
Belldandy was the one who took care of the garden back at Tarikihongan, so she made a note to herself to help tend to the plants here as well. She had to wonder if there was already a spare room here which she could use for her own personal space, but she thought it rude to ask Urd right away.

Focusing on the very serious question at hand, Urd shrugged. "It's hard to say...people have the tendency to vanish around here. Whether or not they were killed or merely found a way back to their home world is anyone's guess. But it's possible...there are some high powered players here who could do some serious damage without any remorse." She smiled slightly at Belldandy's next words, not only for the typical goodness within them but that they mirrored the exact sentiment of Genie.
"Funny you should say that," she said lightly, slanting a look towards the curtained window. "Genie planned on talking her out of it as well. Maybe you can team up." Her smile faded though as she looked at Belldandy again, eyes dark. "I know you think everyone has goodness in them, Bell, but sometimes it's just not the case. If you're going to talk to Maleficent, be on your guard."
no subject
However, the serious nature of the situation was not lost on the Goddess First Class. "If it comes to a fight, that is regrettable, but I will do everything to ensure the well-being and happiness of those who dwell here... but I will also make sure to return here to you, unharmed." After all, Belldandy knew the value of life. "And if there are indeed high-powered players in this realm... then I will do everything in my power to oppose them as well."
no subject
She gestured for Belldandy to follow her. "Come on, I'll show you to your room."

Standing up and following her sister, Belldandy was very grateful that she was still the kind and loving big sister that she knew, and was also grateful that she was able to make friends. Due to her upbringing, it was difficult for Urd to make friends in either Hell or Heaven, and Belldandy noticed that she had a much easier time befriending those on the surface world... and she was glad that she was having an easier time befriending those here in Paixao, as well. Belldandy vowed to herself to try just as hard, if not harder.

She stepped inside, reaching out to the nearby dresser for a match to light the large white candle right by the entrance. The room was lit in a warm glow, but compared to the rest of the apartment, it was bland and spartan. "I know it's not much, but...hey, at least you can decorate it how you'd like," Urd chuckled.
no subject
"Aa, I almost forgot!" Belldandy almost seemed embarrassed, put materialized a placard in her hand and put it up on the door.
It read 'Everybody's Tea Room'.
"What do you think, Nee-san?" She asked, turning to her elder sister with a big smile.
no subject
She held Belldandy away from her, arms on the shorter woman's shoulders and looked seriously at her. "...I'm sorry Keiichi wasn't brought here with you. I hope that you'll be able to return to him soon."
no subject
Of course it hurt. But Belldandy wasn't one to allow that to create in her an irreparable weakness
in the manga, at least. "If you need any help, allow me to know, Nee-san. To begin with, I can help tend the flowers!"no subject
seems like a good place to end it?
"... I'm truly glad to be able to be here with you, Nee-san."
Sounds good.
