Betrayal for Betrayal [Active]
Character(s): Larxene, Zexion
Content: Larxene pays Zexion a visit, post-Elenra.
Setting: ?
Time: morning, week seven
Warnings: Larxene and Zexion
It was rare Larxene came calling on other Organization members without being called. But this was a very peculiar set of circumstances--the entire previous week had been--and so she found herself opening a portal and stepping through to pay a visit to Zexion.
He had his own motives, Larxene was sure, but Zexion had helped her in the previous week. And Marluxia had betrayed her. And Xemnas had--well, she didn't want to think about that, and relished in the ability to put it aside so easily. What good were hearts that prevented such things? But she was fair; she hated liars, and would repay betrayal with betrayal.
And oh, did Marluxia know a thing or two about betrayal.
She stepped out into Zexion's usual haunt. Her voice wasn't its usual chirp; it was more emotionless than she normally used, more serious as a result. She was still reveling in not having to show any tone in her voice. "Zexion, are you in?"

Admittedly, it was a surprise to hear Larxene's voice calling for him, and not Lexaeus'. And he was sure that it was Larxene in truth and not the woman she'd been - Elenra would likely have gone to where 'Ian' lived, only to find him out. No doubt the past few days had been eventful, indeed.
"I am," he answered simply, looking up from the corner he'd all but entrenched himself in.
no subject
"You know what happened last week," she said. "You might not know the complications. But--Marluxia. How much do you know?"
Her tone said she'd fill in the blanks for him.
no subject
"I know only what the Replica told me. It was hardly the most complete of stories."
For know he wouldn't ask abut the complications she'd mentioned.

"To ensnare Sora's heart?"

He knew the consequences to Marluxia's actions, or what would have been the consequences. But the reasons that had spurred him on to make such decisions... those he could not fathom. Though you'd never hear him admit to such a thing, he had yet to figure out how the eleventh of their number thought.

She spoke as one who knew him well; her time spent with Marluxia was not unknown to the Organization.
no subject
It did not, however, excuse his attempt.
"And so he seeks to find a way to recreate the Organization in his own image so as to no longer need to take orders."

But against the power of the Keyblade... that would have been a force to reckon with.
"Did he plan to tell Sora of Roxas, or merely use them both?"
no subject
And so yes, both would be used, though Larxene was not entirely clear on the specifics of that. Marluxia had never been forthcoming, Larxene simply had guesses. It was just that Larxene, more than any other Nobody, knew him well enough to make the best guesses.
no subject
But it would have meant the power of two Keybearers striking at them, and with the Keyblade being on of the few weapons that was all but made to destroy beings like them, it would have presented quite a problem.
"Roxas would have had questions."
no subject
Another guess, but a logical one.
no subject
Although using her to that purpose repeatedly would instead leave her with questions. But perhaps Marluxia hadn't intended to need to do so more than once or twice.

Her smile didn't fade or twitch, but something in her eyes grew a touch more sinister. Marluxia needed more than to just stop watching the girl.

Larxene's confession was more than he could ever have hoped, but it was a nail in the coffin that he would not be putting to waste.
"If I had my way more than that would change," he answered simply.
no subject
"If I had my way, he'd die."
no subject
"I would be willing to agree to this."
no subject
Yes, she'd do a bit of experimenting of her own, see just what made him tick. That would be fun.
"Then maybe it's time for a little group get-together?" she suggested with mock cheer. "To see just what should be done about him."
no subject
"I'll speak to Xemnas about it," he answered.
Surely Xemnas wouldn't be able to disagree in the face of what he'd learned.
