What can you do with a day? What will you wake up and see? [Active]

Character(s): Rose, Donna, and the Genie
Content: An overdue lunch date :D
Setting: Porfavore's [I5]
Time: Week 4, afternoon
Warnings: Highly unlikely for there to be any XD ...maybe a bit of fangirling? :O

It wasn't often that she could meet the sort of people that she could here. Well, no, scratch that. She'd met a lot of people when she traveled with the Doctor. Paixao just had... the kind she doubted, even with time travel, to ever be possible.

The Doctor might just be a bit jealous that Donna and her were going to have lunch with the Genie, but it seemed like he was busy with some things and while she could have drawn him from it, she had a feeling that it was important. And it wasn't like they couldn't do lunch again!

Rose hoped, anyway.

The pair of woman skirted out of the TARDIS (better and safer with two!) and were now settled in a booth at the restaurant Porfavore's, one of the restaurants that Rose hadn't been to yet, and patiently waited for the arrival of their third.

"This city is just full of surprises," Rose commented idly, then took a sip of her water.

"It seems like it." Donna said, focusing on her reconstructed journal. Apparently, the Doctor had felt the need to take it apart when he found it in the TARDIS, and after some...encouragement...he'd put it back together for her. She wasn't sure if it still worked, and for that exact reason, she was playing with it for the moment.

"Especially those black things that were after us earlier." She meant the heartless that had chased them and Jenny from city hall to the TARDIS before. She didn't want to relive that experience, really. Setting down the journal, finally, she reached for the cup of tea sitting in front of her. "Don't you think it's strange though...to meet all these people who we never thought it would be possible to meet?"

"Never?" asked an exuberant young server, inviting himself into the girls conversation. His bright blue eyes glowed in interest as he drew closer. "Maybe unlikely, but never, well, never! Nothing is impossible! Just because something can't happen today it doesn't mean it can't tomorrow. Man didn’t go to the moon the first day he imagined it, but he did in 1969. Some have even gone beyond." He added with a wink. “Unless you’re one of the people who believe the whole conspiracy. Of course, it’s not my place to argue such things.”

Leaning down he placed his elbows on the table and smiled at the two before bursting into a cloud of blue smoke. Many of the restaurants occupants turned in surprise and were in for an even greater one when the smoke cleared to reveal a familiar face. The genie, however, paid no mind to their stares other than to wave and assure them that he was alright.

“It’s ooookay! The following stunt was performed by supervised professionals but should by no means be attempted at home. No one was injured during this presentation… Shout out to my home girl Clora!”

Seating himself at the table, the djinni took his napkin and carefully placed in on his lap. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long, I couldn’t decide what to wear. Over a thousand and one outfits and none of them gave the look I was going for. And my hair, don’t even get me started with that.”

Donna smiled as she heard the familiar voice. So, it was true that characters they knew from movies could be here, in these domes. She shut the journal and stuck it in her pocket, turning to the new arrival at the table.

"She's right, never is a good term, most of the time. At least for us. And not this time." She said, still surprised that she was sitting across the table from a Disney character. Although she didn't vocalize this, something was telling her not to, and she listened, surprisingly.

Genie was well aware of his inexistence. He was an animated character, he belonged to Disney and it was as simple as that. He was no more real than Rose or Donna, though one could certainly argue otherwise if they desired. However, just as they had kept quiet, he too would hold his tongue regarding the issue. It wasn’t as though it was important, it didn’t change anything, why mention it? They certainly hadn’t, though he was uncertain as to whether or not they knew he wasn’t ‘real’. It sounded as though Rose might from their discussion over the journals, and Donna’s assurance that their meeting could never happed did too, but he could not be sure.

“I see,” the djinni replied thoughtfully, rubbing his chin while he looked between the two. “Say no more, I hear you loud and clear – but I haven’t changed my mind about any of this. That aside, I don’t believe we’ve ever met and I completely forgot to introduce myself.”

Facing Donna, Genie suddenly transformed into a very blue, yet very familiar looking pirate. He waved his hand before his face as he leaned toward her, looking as though he’d had a little too much rum. “I'm Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy? N’ lemme tell you mate, I’m one of a kind.”

Donna laughed at Genie's transformation also. "Aye, Aye!" She responded along with Rose. It was nice to be out again, without those shadow creatures running behind her, or without really worrying about something bad happening. Of course, it always could, but hey, she'd worry about that later, now was just lunch.

"So, what do genies do around here?" She asked, really wondering. "I mean, not to be rude, I've just never met a genie before!"

As quickly as the pirate had appeared, he vanished in a cloud of smoke (only to be cleared with a small handheld fan) to reveal the genie again. He shared an apologetic smile with the two at this, pushing the last of the smoke away with his hand when the fan disappeared. “My name is Genie and I have a smoking problem.” He admitted as if present at a Nicotine Anonymous meeting before laughing. “Hope you don’t mind. If so, please let me know. This restaurant is a smoke free environment.”

Donna’s interest came as no surprise to this genie; everyone was interested in a genie some way or another. Be it curiosity, love, greed, or villainous intent, he’d seen it all. He worried little of her or Rose’s intent though. As a free genie they held no power over him – not that he suspected them of doing anything too ill fortuned with his abilities, it was simply a thought. They both seemed like very nice women, especially inviting him out to lunch like this. How many alleged bad guys took you out to eat – other than the mafia?

“No offence taken!” Genie assured Donna. “Not very many have or believe in them, let alone magic. It’s disappointing, but there’s only so much you can do. I’m sure you two know better though.” Giving a wink at this, he leaned back in his seat. “I’ve been keeping busy, personally. After I helped Merlin, The Merlin mind you, move in I went back to exploring the city. Taking pictures, picking up souvenirs, doing a little research, you dig? As beautiful as it is, Paixao has the most intriguing of history and ignorance regarding the World Order.”
