The past he had run from so long ago had finally caught up with him. It reminded him of the old times, the harder times. He felt as though he was with his old colony again; everyone hated him. He had tried to do good, really. But it hadn't quite turned out as planned. It never turned out as planned. It filled him with anger, fear, and finally, sorrow. The problems he thought he had left behind him four years ago had somehow followed him.
Simba had never really been part of the equation in Paixao. Though, he had considered the lions arrival, it simply seemed too doubtful of to occurring. Not these days, anyway. He had his cards all ready, Pumbaa was close and protected, as was he. If the Organization tried anything he was ready. Countless plans had been developed thanks to his 'cunning' and 'great craft' over the course of the last month to poison their attempts at kidnapping or brainwashing others. However, an ace had fallen onto the table, and Larxene had caught it much faster then he ever could.
His grip tightened around the bar he had found to ensure his security aboard the train. He managed to slip in quite easily without paying a fee to board. However, it wasn't long before he found the fastest mode of transportation was one of his least favorite. The train was noisy and moved at an uncomfortable pace. The endless sea of feet that swarmed around him threatened to step on him at any given moment and most of all, he couldn't see where the train was going. If it weren't for the announcement given at each stop, he'd of never known when to get off.
He felt nervous as he entered Central Station. Simba was waiting for him there and to be honest, Timon didn't know what to expect. Last he had seen his friend was... Quite some time ago. They hadn't been on the best of terms, or so he assumed. The lion had disappeared so suddenly into the night, he could only guess it was something he had said or done because by the next morning Simba had not returned. Of course, there was also what Larxene had done to him, if anything. There was another worry. He could stand if his friend was mad at him, but not if he was hurt.
The little meerkat pushed his way through the field of feet irritably as he searched for his semi-carnivorous friend.

When he had been able to get a signal on the box he wore around his neck, Simba had read some of the latest things that showed up. Something had gone wrong while he was gone, and it looked like Timon was somehow a part of it. So, he had thrown something up on the network in order to get his friend's attention. It worked.
Now, Simba stood in the Central Station after running a ways to find it. All he was hoping at the moment was that A) the antenna woman didn't find him again and B) Timon wasn't hurt.

Escaping the river of seemingly endless feet, the meerkat was pleased to find his friend stationed nearby, waiting for him. Overcome by a feeling of joy, he suddenly could not remember what he had been so nervous about. A smile found itself across his face as he raced toward his friend, open arms.
"SIMBA!"
no subject
"SIMBA!" He heard shouted before he even saw his friend coming from the platform area. He quickly jumped up and started to run over, scaring more of the people around.
"Timon!" He slid to a stop before giving his friend a big lion hug. "You're ok!"
no subject
He closed his eyes, savoring the moment. Simba was here, really here. After all the time he'd been stuck here, waiting, hoping to find his friends. They were all here now, together again. It had been all to long.
"Of course I'm okay!" Timon said, loosening his hold of his friends mane. "It takes a lot more then the likes of some girl to bring down 'ol Timon." He paused for a moment, the smile he had once shared quickly replaced with a worry. "Are you okay? Larxene didn't hurt you or anything, did she?"
Without waiting for a response from the lion, he began searching him for any signs of harm.
no subject
"I'm fine, I'm fine. She didn't do anything to hurt me. I promise." He said, watching as Timon began looking over him for injuries. "She walked through me though. That was weird."
He waited for a moment, as Timon got to a safer place on his back, and stood up again. Simba didn't want him to fall off.
"So, where to now?"
no subject
The meerket rubbed his chin, curious as to what Larxene could have possibly planned to find within his friends memories. Last he had seen the woman, she had been in no position to strike either of them. At least until she escaped. But even then, she must have been shaken up (hopefully). He certainly was after what he'd witnessed. If she was planning something, they had plenty of time to do so as well. This relieved him slightly.
"At least you're okay." he concluded, climbing up onto his friends back. "I was kinda thinkin' of layin' low for awhile after... You know, everything that's happened. But I don't have anywhere in mind yet. I'm sure somethin' 'll come to me though. You're not hungry or anything, are you? We could grab a bite to eat if you want."
no subject
"Timon. I'm always hungry." Simba said, beginning to walk in a random direction, watching as people made way for him. A little kid laughed to see a meerkat on top of a lions back, the food chain was just a bit broken here.
"So, food sounds great. Where to?"
no subject
"It makes one heck of a trick, I'll give her that." the meerkat said. "She's done it to me twice."
Checking his map for any restaurants within their vicinity, he decided to leave a note for Vyers and Pumbaa on his journal. It would likely to be the last post he made over the system for awhile. He was no longer wanted, and knowing his luck, he would only make things worse if he continued to post. It was best he kept his distance, at least for now.
"There's a Cafe Ersesat just East of here, we can grab a bite to eat there. After, if you don't mind, we'll have to meet up with Vyers." he groaned at the thought of the demon. "I can't get rid of the guy."
He was hoping he'd of gone his separate way more willingly, help someone who truly needed aid. In the time he'd spend simply lallygagging with him and Simba, he could possibly save someone from the Organization's clutches. It was a waste.
"You know, this place might actually have somethin' to finally satisfy that monstrous appetite of yours." he told his friend, jokingly.
no subject
"Sounds like a good idea to me. And who's Vyers?" Simba turned to start heading in the direction that Timon told him, looking forward to a good meal.
"And something to satisfy this appetite? I don't think that's possible."
no subject
The topic of food made him feel better, naturally. So when their discussion took a turn to the mention of their stomachs, even Vyers, a smile could be seen upon Timon features once again.
He knew bugs weren't enough to truly satisfy a lions stomach, regardless how many he ate. And Simba ate a lot. Why, even more than both he and Pumbaa combined. However, he had his suspicions that his friend had been doing some hunting in secret. The antelope that passed just outside the jungles boarder were surely tempting. Though, Timon had no intention of bringing this up.
It was expected of the lion. Why, he and Pumbaa had even taught their friend how to hunt... Well, tried to. In the end, an interesting rendition of tag had developed. It not only gave Simba a good workout, but Timon and Pumbaa as well. They got faster, more crafty when it came to escaping the jaws of predators. Simba surly grew faster himself, better at interpreting his preys moves. Likely better at stalking too. He had practiced his pouncing on Timon more than once.
Rubbing his head, he chuckled at both Simba's response and the memory in which he had reminded Timon of.
"Vyers is a... Acquaintance." the rodent began thoughtfully. "He's been stickin' with me n' Pumbaa lately. We- Well, I thought we could use a little extra muscle around. He's an alright guy."
no subject
"...so he was a protector of sorts?" Simba smirked slightly as he said that. Not that Timon would ever admit to needing someone like that, it was fun to poke at him for it.
no subject
Chewing his lip, he decided against telling Simba this. It was likely for the best, anyway. He didn't want to get his friend upset, he had been through enough already. "Nothing to be worried about, trust me." he assured.
At the mention Vyers' true reason of hire, the meerkat, as predicted, immediately denied it. "NO!" he blurted out. "He did the cooking, cleaning... That sort of thing. I can protect both myself and Pumbaa perfectly fine, thank you very much."
no subject
"Ok." He said, continuing to walk onward, waiting for cues from Timon on when to turn.
".....and of course you can. I didn't mean to say anything against that." He hoped Timon couldn't see the smile on his face for that one.
no subject
"If we keep at this pace we should be there in no time." the rodent commented, fiddling with his journal once again. It was hard to ignore the message sent from Laharl regarding the trouble Vyers had gotten himself into. It appeared that Larxene had caught up with him.
'I leave him alone for how long and he's in trouble already?' he thought to himself. 'He's lucky I ain't the one who found him, 'cause I'd of really let 'em have it.'
Rubbing his chin in thought, he decided to wait before acting. He would let Laharl handle things for now. Once he and Simba reached the restaurant he would check up on the demons condition. Hopefully it wasn't too bad. Though, you never knew with Larxene.
"You haven't eaten here yet, have you?" Timon asked, curious as to what the lion would think of human dinning.
no subject
"And no, I haven't eaten here yet." He said. Between arriving, being taken by Larxene, then being dropped somewhere totally different from before, he had little time to think, much less eat. Simba was starting to get hungry, he hadn't really eaten in a while anyway.
no subject
"Hm?" Timon grunted, casting his gaze up into the sky. "Looks like rains headin' our way. Gee, that's just what we need." Rolling his eyes he pointed ahead at the restaurant in the distance. "At least we're close. Trust me on this, Simba. Nothin' compares to human dining. You're in for a real treat."
A grin spread across his lips at this. Already an 'incredibly clever' plan had begun to blossom within his thick cranium. He just might be able to get a free meal out of this, especially while Simba, his 'ferocious man eating lion friend' was with him.
no subject
"I hope you're right." He said, watching for anything that could indicate food. He didn't know what a restaurant looked like, so he would have to wait for Timon's cue.
no subject
Regardless how long the meerkat had been here, and all that he had endured in that time, little had changed regarding his ego. Timon was just the same as he had been for years, and likely remain that way for those left to come. He was too stubborn for change. -that is, unless there was something in it for him. Then it would be considered. But that was besides the point.
"You forget who you're talking to already?" he asked, casually leaning to his right to speak into Simba's ear. "This is the 'kat who invented 'Hakuna Matata', sonny. The one that saved you, who raised you as though you were my very own and... And I suppose Pumbaa helped too, but only under my careful instruction."
From that point on, the little rodent just talked. Talked, talked, and talked some more. He always talked a lot. Thankfully, the topic did not always center around him. He spoke of his experiences and the knowledge he had gained within Paixao's walls. There was little hesitation when it came to sharing these things over dinner. He told his friend knowingly of the dangers that laid ahead, the many habits, inventions, and ways of human living. Not to speak to any strange animals or Organization members, and many other things he considered useful.
But, there even more useful things he had left out. There was no mention of his part in the Resistance, nor exactly how long he had been in Paixao. He simply laughed and shrugged the question off, as he did few other
questions. Some things Simba was better off not knowing, especially for his safety. That was one of Timon's greatest concerns, especially after his capture. He wouldn't lie to his friend, but he would avoid the truth if he could depending on the subject. 'Oh, your head couldn't handle it all.' he'd joke, regardless of the lions response that his head was much larger than Timon's.
He enjoyed his meal, as he always did, and was quite certain Simba did too. He had ordered his friend something more to his carnivorous taste, in the process teaching him about currency, finding food, and about the peculiar creatures known as Lumens that wandered the city. It was advised that he not practice hunting with them, for they could be just as dangerous as the Heartless which Timon taught him about shortly after.
By the end of their meal Timon had run out of things to explain. He simply sat across from Simba, deep in thought. The time he had spent separated from his friend no longer felt so long. It was as though he'd been back in the jungle with him only yesterday. He knew he had aged considerably (hey, two years were a big deal to a meerkat!) in his absents from the oasis, Pumbaa even more so, but even so...
The meerkat looked to his friend and smiled.
At least they were all together again.
