Get Down, Baby! [active/open]

Character(s):  Akutare and any other party-goers
Content:  To keep himself entertained, the Dark Hero decided to throw a party.
Setting:  The Wild Ginger
Time:  Late Afternoon going on into the night
Warnings: None as of yet... but I'd suggest you not be the last one out of there.

[Note: Since there's probably going to be a bunch of people in this post, I figure it'd be best to break it up into mini-threads.  Just make your post in here and others will reply to it or make a completely different post if your character is gathered somewhere else.  Feel free to thread hop in between and have fun~!]

While he waited for everyone to arrive, Akutare lounged in one of the chairs, fiddling with his journal and pointedly ignoring the disapproving looks from the man nearby.  It had taken the demon a long time to convince the owner of the establishment to allow him to throw this party (especially since it was so sudden), but he'd managed to get it done, promising the owner that everything would be paid for along with a bonus for all of the people who happened to be working that night.

Now that he thought on it, it had actually been a lot easier than Akutare had expected.  Not that he was complaining.  He probably just happened to get a particularly gullible and greedy group of suckers on his hands.  All the better for him!  Still, he wondered just what kind of currency they had in this place, anyway.  Everything seemed shiny enough that they probably had something that glowed or something like that.  Maybe.  He guessed he should have asked something like that when he just came in.  Oh well, he'd manage somehow.

"Aaaaand posted!" he noted to himself, pressing the button and waiting for the responses and people to roll on in.  Haha, this was an awesome idea.

The day had started...awkward to say the least. Neither Adell or Rozalin had touched the topic on the state Rozalin had arrived in. Adell simply didn't ask about it, even though he really wanted to, he didn't want to push Rozalin. Not after what had happened. He'd much rather have her tell him when she felt she was ready to talk about it.

So instead he had told her everything he knew of Paixao as he showed her around the ever-shining city. Somehow ending up at the Wild Ginger. "This is the Wild Ginger. Though I've never been here so I don't what it's about." He stared at the door for a moment, something about the name of this place was very familiar but he just couldn't remember why, before he looked back at Rozalin with his usual grin. "Let's check it out."

He pushed the door open, ready to step inside until he noticed the small crowd of non-natives that was gathered inside. Why were there so many people here? He frowned as he stood in the doorway uncertainly and slowly a realization dawned on him.

Wait a minute....didn't Akutare...!?

To say it was awkward would be perhaps an understatement. Rozalin wasn't sure what to explain to Adell. She was rather frightened to. What would he say? Would he leave her if she told him? She didn't want to be alone. Then again, he did promise to protect her. Would he change his mind? ...But that wouldn't really be his... style, would it?

Still, she was uncertain. For now he hadn't brought it up, and she was grateful for that. Trying to seem like all was well, she listened intently to what he had to tell her about the place they now found themselves trapped in, and let him lead her around. It was a rather beautiful place she had to admit, but it wasn't some where she'd particularly like to be trapped in.

"The Wild Ginger?" she echoed, sounding a little put off, "It sounds rather crude, but if you insist."

She supposed it couldn't hurt to have a peek either way, and if it was unfit for her, she could always insist on leaving. She followed behind him, and practically bumped into his back when he stopped at the door. Peeking around him she tried to peer inside, "What is it, Adell?"

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
The party....how could he have forgotten?

While still mentally berating himself Adell turned around to face Rozalin, scratching the back of his head with an almost solemn expression. Ah...how to put this?

"I just remembered this is a bad place to be right now. Why don't we go check out the museum?" Really, he was just naming the next closest thing he remembered seeing on the map. He wasn't interested in the museum at all but hopefully it would interest Rozalin. She would probably like that better anyway, right? ...Whatever it took to get away from here before Akutare spotted him.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-08 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"A museum? Well, I suppose that would be mor--" she replied, but cut off as a familiar voice greeted them from behind Adell. Someone who knew him. In fact, Rozalin knew that voice also... wasn't that...

"Akutare?" she peered over Adell's shoulder back at the familiar blond haired demon. Well, that certainly explained Adell's attempt at a hasty retreat. Wait, did Akutare say he was holding a party?

She blinked at him, a little exasperated. "We're trapped in a city with no way out, and you're holding a party?" Of all the ridiculas things for someone to do.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-09 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That was just his luck, wasn't it? At the sound of a familiar voice Adell slowly turned around, coming face to face with the very reason he had wanted to get out of here as fast as possible. ...At least someone was happy.

"It wasn't intentional, I assure you." He said as he crossed his arms. Of course there was little hope in Akutare actually believing that and possibly even less hope of getting out of here now.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Now that was some VERY fuzzy logic. "How are you so sure there is no way out? Have you even bothered to look?"

It couldn't be possible for their not to be some way to escape, right? If everyone was saying their wasn't a means of escape, it could just be they hadn't found it yet. Perhaps the Last Boss hadn't yet revealed themselves, for example. Every place, after all, had a Last Boss. Perhaps the defeat of it would present a way home.

Rozalin could only arch and eyebrow looking less than amused. "Or wondering why we didn't leave sooner."

She turned to Adell, now pointedly ignoring Akutare. "Shall we be off?"

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And of course Akutare was completely wrong but that was to be expected. Adell certainly was no party animal and it was very doubtful the demon before him had even bothered to look for an exit. It was like he didn't even understand the graveness of the situation they were in. Or maybe it was just that he didn't care at all. Either way, the battle maniac really couldn't be bothered to respond to that.

Instead he followed Rozalin's example and ignored Akutare as he turned back to the princess. "Yeah, let's." Much rather the museum than here.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Their plan to leave didn't seem to be working out when Akutare suddenly was in front of them, blocking the exit.

Rozalin narrowed her eyes, and folded her arms to her chest, with a huff. The party 'just starting' wasn't much of a reason for them to stick around in her opinion. "What reason do we have to possibly stay?" she asked, giving a side glance to Adell.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell sighed, he knew leaving couldn't have been that easy. Still, he could have hoped, right? Not that it mattered now with Akutare standing in the way like that. Of course, he could probably just shove the demon aside if he wanted to but that wasn't his style.

He met Rozalin's gaze for a moment before glancing back to the Dark Hero, interested to see if Akutare would actually be capable of providing a good reason to make them stay.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-10-30 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Rozalin really wasn't ready to listen to any possible reason Akutare might throw at them, until he mention food.

She almost felt her stomach gurgle at the thought of a meal. It was funny how one's hunger became all the more apparent when food was offered. And this was a free meal! A buffet, no less. They wouldn't have to wait to be served or anything. The real question was could she stand being in the same room as Akutare for a meal? ...Her stomach was saying yes.

"W-well... I.. am a bit hungry," she admitted, glancing to Adell once more, with a kind of 'well, maybe it wouldn't hurt for a little' look.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-10-31 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell didn't really look convinced. Two reasons were hardly 'plenty'. He had doubted from the start Akutare would be able to give them a good reason. Considering you could just pluck money from the trees, wasn't all the food pretty much for free in this city? Although a buffet didn't sound too bad...

He was slightly surprised by Rozalin but then again, they hadn't eaten that much today, had they? He couldn't see any harm in getting some food here if Rozalin agreed. Finally, he nodded to her and turned back to Akutare. "Fine, we'll stay for a while."

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
They were here and there was easy food to be had. It made sense to stay, if just for that, then they could make a speedy escape whenever Akutare wasn't paying attention. Not to be rude or anything, but there was no reason to stay long after the food, of course.

With Adell's agreeing, Rozalin broke away and went straight to investigate the buffet. While she would rather have a proper meal with a waiter and such, food right in front of her all cooked and ready was too good to pass up. It looked good. All of it. Hmm, what to start with.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-11-04 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Adell's thoughts were pretty much on the same wavelength as Rozalin's. They could leave whenever they wanted to and hopefully in an unnoticed way. At least for now the Dark Hero would be happy and they could eat.

He gave Akutare a nod and followed Rozalin at an easier pace, pausing once to glance around the place, before joining her side to look at the food. There certainly was enough to choose from, no arguments there.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Finally deciding what she wanted, Rozalin glanced around for a moment until it hit her. Wait... There was a fact about a buffet she'd forgotten about entirely. You had to serve yourself, didn't you? Well, how uncouth. She wasn't sure how she liked the idea of having to do this herself.

She didn't see any servers anywhere however, and as her stomach gave another reminder that she was hungry, she finally gave in and reached for a pair of tongs to attempt to claim a piece of what looked like roast beef.

Of course, the keyword there was try. Her expression shifted to one of annoyance as the meat repeatedly slipped from between the tongs. How did servants do this so easily?

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Naturally Adell was having a much easier time and he'd even gotten himself a plate full of the food he had picked out already. He was just about to look around to find them a place to sit until he noticed the trouble Rozalin was having. She...had never done this sort of thing before, had she? It was rather obvious and almost comical.

Deciding to come to her aid, he put his own plate down on the table before moving behind Rozalin and putting his hand on hers. "It's done like this," he said and rather than just taking the thongs from her, he moved her hand along with his as he demonstrated the correct movement to grab the piece of roast beef she had been aiming for. Once he'd gotten it, he let go. "There."

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-11-19 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
She very much noticed when Adell came up behind her, and more so when he reached out and put his hand on his, and proceeded to blush as he helped her claim the piece of beef she'd wanted. She glanced at him briefly out of the corner of her eye, before quickly looking away, as she felt her face turn even more crimson. Depositing the beef onto her plate, it took everything to not drop the tongs, as she placed them back down.

Flustered, she wasn't half sure what to say. Normally for helping her like that she might have yelled at him or something, but the manner he'd done it had just left tongue tied. Finally she managed out a, "...T-thank you."

Hastily she moved down the buffet a bit and grabbed a spoon, dumping some other things on her plate, trying to avoid looking at Adell, as she knew she was still rather red.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-11-28 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he just figured that had been the fastest way to teach her. It was the way children were taught table manners and such after all.

Though Adell was slightly surprised by her rather...calm reaction. He had at least expected to be scolded but this was certainly a nice change of things for once. "No problem." He replied as he watched her move down the buffet before returning to his previous task of finding them a seat.

He spotted a nice, quiet little corner where they would be able to eat in peace, granted Akutare didn't come back to bug them, and moved over to sit there and wait for Rozalin.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Finally happy with her plate full of food, she glanced around a moment, and caught sight of where Adell had disappeared to after a few moments. Quickly she retreated to the quiet corner he'd found, setting her plate down on the table before settling herself into a seat beside Adell.

She also hoped this would be a good corner for Akutare to forget about them. Maybe then they could almost enjoy this.

Rozalin glanced to Adell for a moment, but glanced away fairly quickly. That battlemaniac still had her feeling bashful. Touching her hand, carrying her, kissing her. Why did he keep doing such strange things?

Lifting her fork and knife, she began to cut a small piece of her roast beef, being a proper lady and all, and began to eat. Food was a wonderful distraction from her thoughts.

[identity profile] man-of-style.livejournal.com 2008-12-12 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Once Rozalin had joined him, Adell too started eating. Although not quite in the same prim and proper manner like the princess beside him. He ate in relative silence as he watched the other party-attenders, glancing at Rozalin every now and then between bites.

His head was still full of questions he would like to ask her but couldn't bring himself to ask yet. Besides, this was a party and hardly the place to be talking about serious matters. So he kept it to himself, trying to focus on his attempt to enjoy the party.

....Well, at least the food did taste good.

[identity profile] a-sinful-rose.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Adell was being so quiet. While she was somewhat watching the party, she kept glancing to him out of the corner of her eye when she was sure he was looking away.

Was something on his mind? He seemed kind of, well, thoughtful? It had seemed like he'd been holding back on something for awhile. Was it what happened yesterday? Or was it something else?

A party or not, Rozalin's curiosity had peaked over the top now. She had no reservations about trying to find out what was going on. Wouldn't it be better just to get it out of the way?

That's what she decided as she finished her meal and set her cutlery neatly on her plate. She stared at it a long moment, before lifting her head, looking to the red head beside her.

"Adell?" Rozalin spoke up hesitantly, as she was breaking a long silence. "...What is it?"
