Get Down, Baby! [active/open]

Character(s):  Akutare and any other party-goers
Content:  To keep himself entertained, the Dark Hero decided to throw a party.
Setting:  The Wild Ginger
Time:  Late Afternoon going on into the night
Warnings: None as of yet... but I'd suggest you not be the last one out of there.

[Note: Since there's probably going to be a bunch of people in this post, I figure it'd be best to break it up into mini-threads.  Just make your post in here and others will reply to it or make a completely different post if your character is gathered somewhere else.  Feel free to thread hop in between and have fun~!]

While he waited for everyone to arrive, Akutare lounged in one of the chairs, fiddling with his journal and pointedly ignoring the disapproving looks from the man nearby.  It had taken the demon a long time to convince the owner of the establishment to allow him to throw this party (especially since it was so sudden), but he'd managed to get it done, promising the owner that everything would be paid for along with a bonus for all of the people who happened to be working that night.

Now that he thought on it, it had actually been a lot easier than Akutare had expected.  Not that he was complaining.  He probably just happened to get a particularly gullible and greedy group of suckers on his hands.  All the better for him!  Still, he wondered just what kind of currency they had in this place, anyway.  Everything seemed shiny enough that they probably had something that glowed or something like that.  Maybe.  He guessed he should have asked something like that when he just came in.  Oh well, he'd manage somehow.

"Aaaaand posted!" he noted to himself, pressing the button and waiting for the responses and people to roll on in.  Haha, this was an awesome idea.

Luxord was never late. He might arrive a bit past the starting time of an event, certainly, but he was never late. One was never late when one controlled any aspect of time.

Plus, it had been well worth it to take time out of his evening to visit Rosette. He'd rather enjoy seeing how that worked out.

So with all that confidence, he strolled into the Wild Ginger - not his favorite establishment in the city by a long shot, but certainly more than passable for a party of this size. Axel was, of course, easy to spot, and Luxord made his way over to him and his friend - friends, actually, as he seemed to have picked up another stray. There was something to be said for being falsely affable.

"Good evening," he greeted them. "Quite the party tonight." A bland enough greetng, but the proverbial ball was in Axel's court. Luxord would take his cue from him.

Axel grinned back, laughing at the description. "Sounds wicked cool. Must be a lot of fun; how'd you end up with a title like that anyway, huh?" It was certainly an interesting way to put it, that was for sure.... Did 'dark hero' mean 'anti-hero' in this case? Or was it just some fan-bestowed or self-made title for a star or wannabe? Hell, who knew, maybe the guy was even a cult celebrity. "Yeah, I was hoping to introduce Ryuuji here t--well, speak of the bastard and he comes. If it isn't the cardshark now!"

Laughing, Axel turned and waved as Luxord drew closer, not bothering to alert Ryuuji to his presence; if the kid couldn't tell who Axel was waving at, then why bother? "Hey, Tobias! This is Ryuuji, that cool new gamer I told you about?" There certainly was something to be said for being friendly, whether he meant it or not; it meant you could actually enjoy yourself at parties without having to worry about an angry mob coming after you, or anything of the sort. Either way, he put a hand on Ryuuji's shoulder as the boy was introduced. "Ryuuji, this is Tobias, the gambling buddy I mentioned. You two play nice, alright? Try to leave each other with the shirts on their backs--I've only got one coat to lend to whoever loses theirs."

"Oh, yeah!" Might as well make sure Akutare didn't feel left out; he offered a sweepingly extravagant gesture towards the demon as well. "And our awesome hoast of the hour, if you hadn't met him yet, Akutare the Dark Hero." There, introduced with suitable fanfare! It was all out of his hands now, and he hoped Luxord knew it; it was up to him to do what he'd like with Ryuuji, now. Sure, he'd still be there as support, most likely.... But he definitely wasn't going to take the heat if this screwed up. After all, Luxord was better suited for the job, so he might as well take it on.

Otogi chuckled as he listened, his attention perking up when he finally heard Axel talking about his friend's arrival. He glanced up, green eyes sharp and alert as they scanned the room, settling on what appeared to be a young to middle-aged man with pale blond hair. Taking a chance that this was the right person, he nodded to him, his lips curving in a half-smile.

And, judging by Aaron's reaction, his gamble was correct. He broke out into a full smile, then, ignoring the reaction that threatened to course through him at the sudden contact, although he did tense up for the briefest of moments. "Hey," he greeted casually, gaze flickering over the other in order to size him up a bit. The other man carried himself with the utmost confidence, and something about him seemed almost predatory. There was no doubt in Otogi's mind, then, that this man was indeed an experienced gambler. "Pleased to meet you," he continued, laughing at Aaron's joke.
