Get Down, Baby! [active/open]

Character(s):  Akutare and any other party-goers
Content:  To keep himself entertained, the Dark Hero decided to throw a party.
Setting:  The Wild Ginger
Time:  Late Afternoon going on into the night
Warnings: None as of yet... but I'd suggest you not be the last one out of there.

[Note: Since there's probably going to be a bunch of people in this post, I figure it'd be best to break it up into mini-threads.  Just make your post in here and others will reply to it or make a completely different post if your character is gathered somewhere else.  Feel free to thread hop in between and have fun~!]

While he waited for everyone to arrive, Akutare lounged in one of the chairs, fiddling with his journal and pointedly ignoring the disapproving looks from the man nearby.  It had taken the demon a long time to convince the owner of the establishment to allow him to throw this party (especially since it was so sudden), but he'd managed to get it done, promising the owner that everything would be paid for along with a bonus for all of the people who happened to be working that night.

Now that he thought on it, it had actually been a lot easier than Akutare had expected.  Not that he was complaining.  He probably just happened to get a particularly gullible and greedy group of suckers on his hands.  All the better for him!  Still, he wondered just what kind of currency they had in this place, anyway.  Everything seemed shiny enough that they probably had something that glowed or something like that.  Maybe.  He guessed he should have asked something like that when he just came in.  Oh well, he'd manage somehow.

"Aaaaand posted!" he noted to himself, pressing the button and waiting for the responses and people to roll on in.  Haha, this was an awesome idea.

The walk had been pleasantly short, and Axel had used the time to check the journals while they talked to find further evidence of this party they were crashing. Fortunately for them, it seemed it was an open invitation.... Not that he minded crashing, if necessary, but it just made things easier. He took a moment as they pushed through the door to look around, for anyone or anything he might find familiar, aside from the lavish decor of the Wild Ginger itself. He didn't see Luxord yet, more's the pity--then again, they were a little early--but he did see Akutare. He took a moment to look him over, smirking in amusement; the demon looked like the partying sort. He also quite approved of the outfit; it complemented his own look (http://community.livejournal.com/paixaorpg/353691.html) rather nicely.

Axel let the door fall shut once Ryuuji had come in as well, cheerfully lifting a hand and heading over to greet their host. "Hey! So you must be the man of the hour, huh?"

Ryuuji, while hanging around, had told the stranger (whose name he hadn't even learned yet) he planned on showing up. If nothing else, Otogi rarely held still for long - and he was quick to be social. He wanted to meet "Aaron's" mysterious friend - it sounded like he might find something in his element in here after all. Besides parties, of course.

Ryuuji grinned at the (rather odd-looking, but it suited him) man, nodding to him and greeting him familiarly. "Yo."

NiGHTS floated in through the door, looking at the surroundings. Not bad; then again, s/he had come here on a whim, and in a good mood; just about everything seemed nice right now.

S/he grinned at Akutare, dashing up to him and impulsively ruffling his hair. "Hello~!" s/he sang, happily bouncing along in mid-air.

[OOC: I left NiGHTS' gender as ambiguous, so that people can go by either "he" or "she" without being confused by others'. Too late. D8]

[identity profile] firewheeling.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
"You know it!" Axel smirked, flashing Akutare a thumbs up. He would have been glad for the admiration of his hair--if, y'know, he'd known about it, or was capable of feeling gladness. So instead he was content to just chill out and chat the guy up, since Luxord was nowhere to be found yet. "So what've you got planned tonight, huh? Anything interesting?" He prompted, before snapping his fingers and offering a hand. "Hell! Sorry about that. The name's Aaron; nice to meet you."

[identity profile] dangeraddicted.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
Otogi laughed. "I know I am," he responded, unconsciously brushing his hair out of his eyes. "Ryuuji Otogi. Nice to met you in person." He gave the place a cursory glance - it wasn't a bad place for a party. If this whole thing turned out to not be a complete disaster (though the green-eyed gamer didn't see how a disaster could occur thus far), he'd have to remember it.

"How's it going?"

NiGHTS tilted his head to one side, still grinning, and mimed putting Akutare's hair back into place - but of course, being NiGHTS, he only messed it up more. "What? That suits you. You look nice that way." He bowed, then, playfully mocking and theatrical as usual.

"I'm NiGHTS!" he said, remembering AKutare's tendency to call him merely by "Hallucination-Jester".

Parties were always interesting things. Good places to meet and greet--information might be thrown about, people in power might have interesting chats... And Lust rather enjoyed such places. So, walking in with her usual aura of confidence, she looked the place over.

It wasn't very crowded yet, but it wasn't entirely empty. Good--she would not have wanted to draw undue attention to herself by being first or last. She would just blend in, converse, and see what she learned.

And maybe make a friend or two.

"Nope!" NiGHTS giggled. "I haven't the foggiest!" That might not be entirely true, but NiGHTS liked messing with Akutare. It was fun.

"Who are you, anyway?"

[identity profile] firewheeling.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oho... The Dark Hero, huh? Pretty slick moniker you've got there; I'd believe it. Nice to meet you, Akutare." Axel returned the shake with a grin, apparently impressed. "What'd you do to earn it, if I can ask?" It looked like Luxord still wasn't here.... A few others had filtered in, though. Maybe he'd get to go meet those guys soon. Not that Otogi seemed impatient just yet, either, which was good. After all, who knew when their little rendezvous would fall into place? Better to enjoy the party for all it was worth as if that was the main reason they'd come.

"Nope~" NiGHTS giggled, sitting idly in mid-air. "I've not heard anything of you, either."

The Maren tilted her head, chuckling a bit. "What's wrong?"

[identity profile] dangeraddicted.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Otogi smiled at Akutare, his eyes flickering around the room again. "Otogi," he replied simply, by way of introduction. "Or Ryuuji. Whatever." He didn't particularly care whether he was addressed by his familial or given name. "Nice to meet you.

He wondered if that friend of Aaron's would show up anytime soon, but he wasn't feeling too impatient.

Luxord was never late. He might arrive a bit past the starting time of an event, certainly, but he was never late. One was never late when one controlled any aspect of time.

Plus, it had been well worth it to take time out of his evening to visit Rosette. He'd rather enjoy seeing how that worked out.

So with all that confidence, he strolled into the Wild Ginger - not his favorite establishment in the city by a long shot, but certainly more than passable for a party of this size. Axel was, of course, easy to spot, and Luxord made his way over to him and his friend - friends, actually, as he seemed to have picked up another stray. There was something to be said for being falsely affable.

"Good evening," he greeted them. "Quite the party tonight." A bland enough greetng, but the proverbial ball was in Axel's court. Luxord would take his cue from him.

NiGHTS giggled again. "Nope~!" he replied, bursting out in cheerful laughter. "It took you long enough, didn't it?" Then again, it had been fun, playing around with Akutare like that - and most people here really did seem to think of NiGHTS as an illusion or something similar.

[identity profile] firewheeling.livejournal.com 2008-08-23 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
Axel grinned back, laughing at the description. "Sounds wicked cool. Must be a lot of fun; how'd you end up with a title like that anyway, huh?" It was certainly an interesting way to put it, that was for sure.... Did 'dark hero' mean 'anti-hero' in this case? Or was it just some fan-bestowed or self-made title for a star or wannabe? Hell, who knew, maybe the guy was even a cult celebrity. "Yeah, I was hoping to introduce Ryuuji here t--well, speak of the bastard and he comes. If it isn't the cardshark now!"

Laughing, Axel turned and waved as Luxord drew closer, not bothering to alert Ryuuji to his presence; if the kid couldn't tell who Axel was waving at, then why bother? "Hey, Tobias! This is Ryuuji, that cool new gamer I told you about?" There certainly was something to be said for being friendly, whether he meant it or not; it meant you could actually enjoy yourself at parties without having to worry about an angry mob coming after you, or anything of the sort. Either way, he put a hand on Ryuuji's shoulder as the boy was introduced. "Ryuuji, this is Tobias, the gambling buddy I mentioned. You two play nice, alright? Try to leave each other with the shirts on their backs--I've only got one coat to lend to whoever loses theirs."

"Oh, yeah!" Might as well make sure Akutare didn't feel left out; he offered a sweepingly extravagant gesture towards the demon as well. "And our awesome hoast of the hour, if you hadn't met him yet, Akutare the Dark Hero." There, introduced with suitable fanfare! It was all out of his hands now, and he hoped Luxord knew it; it was up to him to do what he'd like with Ryuuji, now. Sure, he'd still be there as support, most likely.... But he definitely wasn't going to take the heat if this screwed up. After all, Luxord was better suited for the job, so he might as well take it on.

Otogi chuckled as he listened, his attention perking up when he finally heard Axel talking about his friend's arrival. He glanced up, green eyes sharp and alert as they scanned the room, settling on what appeared to be a young to middle-aged man with pale blond hair. Taking a chance that this was the right person, he nodded to him, his lips curving in a half-smile.

And, judging by Aaron's reaction, his gamble was correct. He broke out into a full smile, then, ignoring the reaction that threatened to course through him at the sudden contact, although he did tense up for the briefest of moments. "Hey," he greeted casually, gaze flickering over the other in order to size him up a bit. The other man carried himself with the utmost confidence, and something about him seemed almost predatory. There was no doubt in Otogi's mind, then, that this man was indeed an experienced gambler. "Pleased to meet you," he continued, laughing at Aaron's joke.

She hoped they weren't late! Too late, anyway. But she had wanted to make sure Sora was remotely settled, and then she had gotten some groceries, and then she made sure to put those away. And she still wanted to pop by Cid's Shop at some point, but that would have to wait. Everyone needed some fun in their daily routine, even if somewhere across the city there was a monster tromping over buildings.

Kairi didn't want to think about that right now. She popped on in through the doorway to the Wild Ginger, a smile on her face as she glanced back to Sora, a shine in her eyes that she was glad that he was here - really here. She would try not to lose him again.

Looking back... she... didn't recognize anyone.

[identity profile] keychainheart.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sora had spent most of his time following Kairi around, occasionally getting distracted with exploring the city, and generally trying to figure out how everything worked here. It seemed like money wasn't an issue, if it grew on trees like that, and that was good. But he hadn't seen anyone he knew yet. No sign of Riku, Donald, or Goofy. They must have really not been here.

But Kairi was here! And there was a party to go to!

"So, who's throwing the party?" Sora asked.
