Slightly mad. [Completed]
Character(s): Hojo, Cloud, Maya
Content: Hojo is nefarious. Also Maya is easy to scare.
Setting: Inside what is now Hojo's lab.
Time: Tuesday night, late
Warnings: HOJO IS CREEPY. 8D
Hojo sighed once the trio of strangers disappeared, quickly becoming weary of all this teleportation. If he understood HOW it worked it would be one thing; the question of why it worked could wait, but being so completely in the dark was extremely frustrating.
In any case, he had a lab to salvage and a couple of people to deal with. Given the nature of people to not stay put unless they were made to, he decided to deal with them first. The girl... the girl he wasn't sure what to do with, considering she was supposed to be Ansem's captive, not his. Still, he was sure he could figure out some use for her.
"Cloud," he said then, turning to face the blond man with a slight smirk. "You remember our agreement, yes?"

And it wouldn't do to abandon Hojo now. They did have an agreement. And how bad could a simple experiment really be, now that Ansem was gone? Besides, if it wasn't Cloud, it would be either the girl left in the room or someone else less willing.
"I'm ready whenever you are, Hojo." And he was committed like that.

"I don't intend to start tonight... I have to put the lab back in working order and see what machines I can salvage, if any." Such pointless destruction of valuable equipment... somehow he didn't think replacing it would be an easy feat. Perhaps he could put up a request on that electronic message board for someone who worked with computers. Oh, he was good with electronics, but these would almost need to be completely rebuilt, or at least welded back together, and he was fairly sure he wouldn't be able to get them back in working order by himself.
Besides, he needed some time to think, mentally go over the information he had collected from the master computer before it was sliced open.
Then, of course, there was the matter of the girl. He couldn't just leave her here... well, maybe he could. Not all of the cages were ruined, just the one Cloud had been in, plus there were a few pod-like structures along one wall. It would not be difficult to keep her there until he could think of some use for her.
So, that in mind, he finally turned to face her and walked over, leaving his intentions unvoiced for now. Really, neither of them needed to know what was going on in his mind at the moment.

"W-Where are we?" Maya shakily asked. "I want to know where we are."

"Let me see your hand."

"I'm checking your blood type. Calm down."

"I need your blood type so I'll know if you will be useful to me or if I'll have to dispose of you. Now give me your hand."

"I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice."

A door-- There was a door. If she ran he'd more than likely chase, but it was a risk she'd have to make.
"I think I'll make my own choices, sir."

"Miss, he won't hurt you. I'll make sure of it." He glanced at Hojo. "I wouldn't trust myself to his care if I didn't believe him worthy of it." That was a little bit of a lie, considering he didn't know Hojo very well at all. "Besides, I'm sure there's worse he could do to you aside from a blood test."
He noticed the woman's journal when she stashed it, which reminded him that he needed to find his from wherever Ansem had hidden it, along with his real clothes. He'd search for them when a little later, after he made sure nothing funny happened with this blood type investigation.

"Okay," she murmured, only loud enough for her to hear. "S'gonna be okay. Nothing will happen. He's just a creepy man doing lord knows what." She rubbed at her face with the sleeves on her coat. "Not crying. Not crying not crying not crying." Maya did her best not to show any visible signs of weakness. She sighed heavily, slumping with her back against the bars of the cage; it could be worse, she realized. Her journal could've been taken away.
But later, whenever it felt more safe to do so.

There was no reason to hang around otherwise. The computers were still in disrepair, meaning the experiment likely couldn't be performed any time soon. "I have a few things I need to find on the premises, Hojo. I will be back after they are found. I won't be long." Without asking an opinion or permission, Cloud left the room.
