A Place To Rest [Complete]

Content: Zelda searches for a suitable place to stay. NiGHTS tags along.

The princess had never seen such a large city. She had not even been around one quarter of it and it still awed her. Even Hyrule Castle seemed miniscule in comparison. As it was, she had spent some time simply walking from place to place, examining hotels and the surrounding area as she passed. She had finally decided that for now, the inn--Actua Are--nearest to the gate she had entered would serve well for now. She could always move if she had to.

"It seems we have gone in a circle," Zelda remarked.

"Yep!" NiGHTS replied cheerfully, drifting along beside the princess. She could, of course, easily float above and find the inn, but this was so much more fun. NiGHTS could pull faces at random passerby, sparkle at some of the others, turn into a ball and bounce every which way...

See? Fun.

Zelda could not help but watch her companion's antics, and was even more strongly reminded of Midna as she watched. While her abilities were different, her sense of amusement seemed to be the same. She smiled a bit.

"Certainly the citizens will all recognize you before too long."

NiGHTS bounced around Zelda a few times for effect, cheerfully unfurling and spinning through the air. "Oh, most of them already do," the creature responded, laughing and waving cheerfully to a couple of the children, who giggled and waved back. If there was one thing NiGHTS rarely did as a "true" Nightmaren, and never did now, it was harm children.

"I've been here a few days, anyway."

She smiled a bit wider as she looked at the children. "I see."

And then they were at the inn. She opened the door and stepped in. It was certainly more luxurious than any inn she knew of at home. What an affluent kingdom this was.

NiGHTS, though reluctant to go further indoors than she already had been (first the domes, then Ryuuzaki, then this) floated inside, looking at their surroundings. From what little she knew, this would be considered luxurious by Visitor standards.

NiGHTS, for her part, was unimpressed - she had, after all, had to deal with Puffy. Her fellow Nightmaren had been something of a diva, and insisted that her territory in Nightmare be opulent. NiGHTS, of course, couldn't really understand the desire - what use had she for luxury, when she much preferred adventure and being outside?

"Will you be staying as well?" Zelda asked, looking now to the man at the desk whom she could only assume was the innkeeper.

She did not mind having company, especially from NiGHTS, who was familiar even as she was unfamiliar. But she did not wish to force her into anything she did not want to do.

But Zelda doubted someone like NiGHTS would be held back by any sense of politeness.

"Nope!" NiGHTS responded. "I just felt like going in and having a look around." She twirled around admiring the way the lights left trails when she spun quickly enough. NiGHTS wasn't one for doing much other than what she felt like, after all - something which had infuriated Wizeman and Reala utterly.

Then again, what were the chances of either of them showing up?

She smiled. "Then I believe this is where we part ways. Though I do hope to see you again."

She meant it, too. But, seeing how noticeable NiGHTS was, she doubted the odd jester would be difficult to find again.

NiGHTS laughed, sweeping her form quickly into a graceful bow. "I'm sure we will, Zelda," she giggled, lifting easily into the air and floating towards the door.

"Don't get into too much trouble, now~" she laughed, winking, before twirling her way outside.
