Prince Not So Charming [Completed]
Character(s): Linali Li and Timon
Content: After talking with each other for some time over their journals, two friends finally meet face to face for the first time.
Setting: Actua Are [J7]
Time: Week 2, Afternoon
Warnings: None
The walk itself had been exhausting without the help of the sun pouring it's warm rays down upon Timon. He felt as if he were in an oven, the heat turned up all the way as he struggled to continue. -which was his second problem: how was he going to present himself to Linali?
Aimless travel had certainly gotten him somewhere by foot, but nowhere when it came to his objective for throughout the gruesome amount exercise he had endured he hadn't found so much as one trace of his friends. Thankfully while taking a break from his walk he'd just so happened to come in contact through his journal with the young lady where he invited himself over to her current homestead. At least now he wouldn't be alone -and could get out of the boiling sun.
Panting heavily, the meerkat eyed the building before him in relief. It looked like the perfect escape from the merciless herds feet that almost stepped on him several times through his struggled to weave through the moving structures. Without a second thought, he continued his approach before coming to a dead halt.
The trick magic windows were here too and the opener to the door was far to out of reach for Timon. He frowned, waiting impatiently by the entrance until someone excited the building allowing him to walk inside.
It was certainly a lot different looking inside this place than outside -obviously. But none the less surprising. Dropping his journal onto the ground before the large desk described by Linali, the little rodent struggled to correctly talk with the woman behind the wooden wall.
"Eh, Hello? I'm looking for Linali Li..." he began, uncertain as to how to correctly engage in conversation with someone he couldn't even see, never mind her seeing him. Perhaps he had been better off as a human. This world was a lot larger then he had expected. He should have wished to go home instead-!
Timon's thoughts were cut short as he quickly realized the receptionist was screaming. Looking over his shoulder, he had been expecting Kovu or something vas and frightening looking but instead found, well, nothing.
"...I was told you could show me where to find Linali." he said, trying again to get the information he needed out of the woman. "She's sixteen, has black hair-"
"Don't come any closer!" pleaded the woman forcing the little meerkat to stop dead in his tracks. He had figured he would go around the desk so he could actually see the woman he was talking to but that unfortunately proved a mistake. "Stay back you filthy rat!"
The receptionist appeared to be afraid of him -though not enough to insult him. His brow's knit together as he took a taunting step forward toward the woman whom was now standing on her chair while demanding the whereabouts of his friend thought an empty threat of biting her if she did not tell him what he wished to know. After some what of an argument, he was on his way, paper in hand while trying to match room numbers. Once coming across a match, Timon knocked on the tall door as hard as he could to insure his presence would be heard.
"Linali, you there?" The meerkat called out while fixing his hair. He could have really used some of those mint leaves they had been talking about earlier about now...

When she arrived, she found clumps of people streaming out the hotel. She tilted her head and frowned, confused. Then she heard the receptionist shrill cries of digust, urging the girl to leap up the stairs and through the glass doors.
"Timon!?"

His thoughts were rudely interrupted causing him to immediately jump in surprise at the unexpected voice calling his name for a far. If anything, he had been expecting to hear his name from the other side of the door and not from behind him. He scouted out the area in search for the owner of such vocals, curious and perhaps a little startled as to whom it was that knew his name.
"Linali, open the door!" the meerkat shouted, banging on the passage entrance once again in hopes it would open. For all he knew, it could be that receptionist calling out his name with a broom in hand. Exactly how she knew his name though would remain a mystery.
A young girl, younger than the woman at the front anyway, came into sight from the same direction which he had come from mer minutes ago causing hesitation in the rodent as to how to react. She looked some what familiar for some reason. Her hair did anyway. Squinting, Timon tried to think back and match a name with the strangers face before she caught him eying her down.
"...Linali?"

"I'm so sorry, Timon! You must think ill of me now." Sadness was evident in her voice. She had spoken with the receptionist (and declared that her new guest was not a rat but a m·e·e·r·k·a·t! The nerve... she had muttered, annoyed. Though peeved, Linali made a note that she must discuss a matter with the receptionist lady.
In any case, the Chinese girl slid the card into the door knob slot; after a flashing green light and a 'click', access was rightfully granted.
"Please go in!"

"Ill?" The redhead repeated looking rather confused by the terms placement within her sentence. "You don't look sick to me... Whatever you got isn't contagious, is it? I don't want to get sick during my 'vacation'. Not that I'd ever want to visit this place."
Throwing glance around the hallway in disgust, Timon welcomed himself into the room without hesitation, his loose lips flapping endlessly although there was doubt that Linali was still listening. "What's with your neighbors anyway? They were running out of here faster then a tamandua from a bee hive. Is that why your sad? Ya shouldn't let them get to you...!"
Frozen as solid as a statue, the meekrat's lips buttoned shut leaving him wordless when taking in his new surroundings. There were many foreign objects present, much like they were in the restaurant he had been in earlier. Almost immediately the desire to play with everything within' the hotel room blossomed within him. Spinning on his heel to inquire about the unknown objects, his mouth cranked open as he raised a paw which he intended to throw about as he spoke. But a different question was spat out:
"What's in the bag?" Curious dark eyes looked over Linali Li's purchase, sparking with excitement in belief the thoughtful gift was intended for him. "You got me something? What is it? Lemme see, lemme see!"
Circling around the poor girl like a little, furry, piranha, the rodent bounced about trying to catch glimpse of the hidden content. He had completely forgotten about his surprise, now absorbed in uncovering the mysterious present in his friends hands.

"Oh, Timon... I'm so sorry! I didn't bring anything for you..." she lamented. "But..I'll make it up to you! I think I just might already have something!"
The Chinese girl got up and rummaged through a drawer. She took out a roll of scarlet ribbon, about a three-quarter inch wide. After snipping the ends diagnolly, she returned the the meerkat's side and got down on her knees. Smiling hopefully, she gently brought the smooth ribbon around Timon's neck and tied it into a neat bowtie. She giggled at her finished work. "Hehe, so handsome!"

The sound of approaching foot steps forced the meerkat to turn 'round and face the raven haired dame, his tongue still exposed to express his thoughts of the revolting tasting bar of soap as she brought herself down to his level. He watched through little protest as she carefully brought the red ribbon around his neck, tying it in a fashionable bow. Timon blinked numerous times, confused yet annoyed by the fact he could not inspect the girls work. Without having to take so much as one look, he knew there chances of a reflecting pool being presents in the room were fairly slim. Pulling at the ribbon in order to loosen it a tad, the animal raised a brow at Linali's compliment.
"Handsome? Ha! Tell me something I don't know." Bearing a large, toothy grin he casually leaned against his friends leg. "Your defiantly one of the better looking ones yourself. Maybe not as charming as yours truly, but at least that acne of yours cleared up. I would have mistaken you as an apple tree before with those big, red dots on y'er cheeks."
no subject
"Once again, it's blush, not acne! Anyway, let me take you to the mirror so you can see how dashing you look!" By the mirror she meant the one in the bathroom. Then it occurred to her as she brushed a pigtail behind her: "Oh, didn't you say you changed into a human, Timon? How come you're still a meerkat?"

Shaking away the memories of his mothers pampering, it took Timon a moment or two to realize the offering made by the extended arm reaching out toward him. With little hesitation, he pulled himself up onto the girls arm and onto her shoulder where he rested his rump and gave an exhausted breath.
"Whew, my feet are killin' me." he complained while rubbing one of his soar feet soothingly. "They outta have more pit stops in this place. And judging by the smell, a few more watering holes. Heh..."
The meerkat lowered his arm which he had raised in order to confirm if the old sweat sock smell present was being generated from him or Linali. A nervous smile spread itself in hopes the girl would not mind the odor he was producing. It had been awhile since he had last bathed and the searing heat wrapping itself around his fur coat wasn't helping. Speaking of fur, he found himself now being questioned about it, reminding him of what he'd intended on sharing with the dark haired heroin.
"Eh, yeah. Surprise!" Throwing both arms up into the air in order to show off his new physique, he waved them briefly before throwing them back down to his sides from a lack of balance. "I was a human when I wound up in this dump... Well, more of a waste land. At least in a dump things actually grow there. And the grubs? Deeeelicious! I though I ain't found a single one here yet...".

She sighed resignedly and accepted Timon's intuition of the female race. Standing, she slowly took him to the bathroom, guarding her occuppied arm with the other in case that the meerkat might fall. Linali raised a brow; she was expecting an explanation about Timon's change of appearance.
"So you were human, but then what happened?"
When they'll have reached the bathroom, Linali would bring him to the mirror, giggling and slipping another compliment. She'd then suggest use of the bathtub if necessary... so that when they go down to eat, the tenants wouldn't mind, she'll explain sheepishly.

Jazz hands were waved about in front of him to empathizes the celebration intended on such an event. He was pleased about it anyway. Although he had grown to have numerous doubts on the way to the hotel, he did not intend on sharing them.
"Now there's a handsome fellow." The meerkat said, winking at his reflection in the mirror before him while also pointing in a familiar fashion referred to as a 'gun wink'. His paws were quickly brought around his neck where he adjusted the bow to his liking before giving Linali a satisfied look.
When finding the privilege of cleaning himself up offered, Timon remain some what stubborn. He knew he smelt, but not that bad. But with a simple shrug, the thought was thrown aside as he climbed down from his perch and onto the bathroom counter. He eyed the empty sink curiously before throwing glance back toward the girl.
"We're in need of a rainy season here." The rodent muttered, placing both paws upon his hips as his foot began to tap impatiently.

Gasping a little, the girl set the thin mammal down. "Rainy season coming your way!" she chimed, winking. She plugged the sink then lifted the faucet lever; cool water rushed into the porcelain bowl like a fierce waterfall. As the dispenser filled, Linali took a small towel, a toothbrush (which she discarded from her cup because it was too hard), and both a used soap bar and bottled liquid soap. Setting these items down, she pointed at the medium-sized bar and the plastic container simultaneously. "Which would you like to use? You can use this toothbrush with the soap to scrub your back if you'd like! And this towel, of course, is to dry yourself with."
no subject
"What's the 'soap' for, it's not food right? It don't taste that good, just to warn yeah. I had a taste of it earlier and it was worse than a warthog sandwich -not that I've ever had one, it's just something that smells that bad can't possibly taste that good." the redhead said through a humble tone, wrapping the cloth around himself to hide any revealing parts with a teasing 'Hey, can't a 'kat get a little privacy!' to Lanili as if she had been looking him over.
As expected, the water was cool and refreshing to the touch, pleasing the little meerkat when placing his paw in the bowl to check the waters temperature. Within' a matter of seconds, the towel that he had just tied around his small figure was tossed aside as slowly began to enter the sitting water. He took his time, pulling himself down at a comfortable pace to allow himself to grow accustom to the temperature.
"Ooooo," he moaned, holding himself up by his elbows on the rim of the bowl giving a lounging, laid back appearance before he dunked his head in. Quickly emerging, Timon shook his head, shaking the water off while adjusting the bow the lovely girl had given. He showed little intention of removing it any time soon, even during the process of bathing.
Cleaning his ear out with his index finger, a crooked smile was given to his friend. "Could you pass that long thinger... That brush to your left... No, your other left.'
[ooc: Wow, all Timon needs is a rubber ducky and he's all set ^^]

Oh snap. She had forgotten about the ribbon! But since the meerkat didn't seem like he'd want it off, the girl simply held her tongue and repressed her hands from the urge to untie them. She reminded herself that she always had more ribbons--or the blowdryer.
The teenager looked away as Timon stepped into the miniature pool. She heard him sink in, delightful that he was enjoying it. Turning back to face him, the girl slid the soap bar with her index finger, a teasing smile on her face as she bent down to his eye level. "Soap's not meant to be eaten, silly! It's used for washing. Here, let me show you how to use it. With the liquid soap, you press this onto the toothbrush and..."
A transluscent lime teardrop topping the utensil, Linali gently scrubbed the meerkats shoulder in circular motions. Haha, this reminded her of when she cleaned the porcelain doll Komui gave her... a slight nostalgia tinted her eyes, but her mind was more focused on the scrubbing! She dipped the brush into the water, shaking off the excess bubbles; then with the acquired liquid, rinsed Timon's shoulder.
"There! That's how you use liquid soap for bathing. You pretty much do the same with the bar--which I must disagree: does not smell bad--except you'll have to wet the toothbrush then rub it with the bristles, like so," she taught, demonstrating the process. "Well, are you good to go? I'll leave you to your privacy while I get you something to eat! Is that all right with you, Timon?"

For a moment, only one, Linali looked...sad? Why was this? Timon didn't have time to verbally question the sorrow's presence for as quickly as it came, it was gone. That, and she had completed her work on his right shoulder, now finishing her brief lesson. He nodded understandingly to her question. "Got it. You are relieved of your duty's."
Fanning Linali off with his paw, his tongue was held for a moment, hesitance noticeable only to him. His tone revealed a slightly more serious side when he finally opened his mouth to speak again. "Oh, and...thanks. 's nice of you to treat me like the royalty I am. If only everyone was as nice as you are, eh?"

Thus, the exorcist shut the bathroom door and trotted over to a cream-colored phone lying on her mahogany nighttable cluttered with hairpins and scrunchies and bracelets. She frowned at the mess and set to organizing it as the dial tone sounded on the line.
((ooc: Should we end here? Linali's just going to order Timon some vegetarian food: the mint he wanted; some leafy vegetables, some boiled, some raw; and roasted corn kernels for extra crunchy. ^^))

"King," he told himself, testing the title out for the first time. "I like that."
His smile grew larger. Now where was 'King Timon' with his bath again? Oh right, his back. Scrubbing his back with the brush, the redhead allowed a playful melody escape past his lips. Song arose, echoing throughout the bathroom strong and fluent. "Sing hey! for the bath at close of day that washes the weary mud away! A warthog is he that will not sing: Oh! Water hot is a noble thing!"
[ooc: Sure. I suppose he'll eat and leave in order to continue his search for his friends. All this royal treatment has gone to his head anyway :P]
