The Sins of the Many [active]
Character(s): Sin, Zidane, Rosette, AndrAIa, Braska, Kit Fisto, Spirit, possibly others?
Content: Epic Sin battle, round 1!
Setting: in the G7 area. Ish.
Time: idk, afternoon?
Warnings: B-b-b-boss battle. Also destruction~
To those who had known what the Sinspawn truly were and what they signified the fact that there was a large city-destroying monster in residence should hardly come as a surprise. True, it bore little resemblance to the Sin that had most recently threatened Spira, but that was only to be expected given its nature. Each Sin was different from the one before it before it, and had different abilities.
But one thing that remained constant throughout all of its incarnations was a penchant for destruction. And since that was what Seymour was most interested, he so no real reason to keep Sin from doing what it was designed to do and the summon he had made it from certainly didn't seem to be directing its whims like had happened with the last Sin.
And so he'd merely wait and watch as Sin continued on its path of destruction.

AndrAIa's trident was still present, tightly firmly in her pale hand. Her fingernails, painted a sea-green to match her swaying hair, were sharpened points, quite similar to darts if one looked closely enough.
Unfortunately, she was not familiar enough with Paixao's skyline to determine which building had gone missing, and so she relied on Zidane for that information... "Where was the building that fell?"

He turned a corner and his pace died then; a dead halt. He swallowed and stepped back, hopefully not into anyone. "W-What the hell is that...?" He didn't think it was the direction he was supposed to be going towards, but it definitely was many, many kinds of not good. "That.... looks like it could be a problem..."
His hands unconsciously went down to his daggers. Hopefully it hadn't noticed them yet.

This strange new pair of people though... they had promise. They had life, something that the natives seemed to lack. Well, with such prime specimens why not set about doing as it had been designed to do. Of course, it wasn't going to try anything with first catching their attention and so it sent a bolt of lightning crackling just over their heads.
Now, to see how they'd react.

Pushing herself to her feet, she asked, "Have a plan?"
She gripped her trident tightly in her hand, her stance noticeably defensive. This *really* wasn't good...

He saw the lightning coming for them and could only think that Larxene would be loving this. He was diving low instinctively, feeling a burn over the back of his neck and along his back before he unsteadily made it back to his feet.
He really, really needed to calm down. He'd fought things bigger than this before! Or even smaller, but probably a hell more tough. This was nothing. So what if his body still wasn't fully recovered. It'd be enough. It should be enough.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he answered AndrAIa, his own attention on the creature. He unsheathed the daggers finally and shrugged a bit. Maybe if they made a big enough mess of things more people would come running before they... well...
"No, No I really don't. But, uh..." Running probably wouldn't help, and what a blow to his pride that'd be. He was sick of being beaten in this city. He fell into a battle stance and sent a grin in AndrAIa's direction. "Let's see how much damage we can do, eh?"
And he sprinted quickly towards the creature. If it went after him, then AndrAIa could attack, right?

If Sin had had a mouth designed for smiling it would have most definitely would have been smiling as Zidane charged towards it. It was hardly near the strength it would have been on Spira, true, but it was more than strong enough to take on a single pair of fighters.
But if they thought it would be easy to lead a hit on it, well, they'd have to think again as Sin sent a punishing blast of lightning Zidane's way - if he didn't dodge it would meet him head on.
And if he did dodge? He'd find Sin's front foot rising up to strike at him as he came.

Gripping her trident tightly, AndrAIa flew into action after Zidane. Her greenish hair streamed out behind her. A warrior at heart, she understood that if both attacked the thing head-on, it could mean deletion; and so, she went towards the side of it and jumped...
If not stopped, her trident was aimed to enter the creature's skin -- whatever its skin be.

He could hear the screams of the dead for a second, a terrible sound that invaded all of his senses, accompanied with the crash and cracks of entire cities falling apart, torn apart by Sin's wrath. And then Braska noticed the two charging right for Spira's sorrow, making to attack it. He knew it wouldn't work. Sin was more powerful than that, and it was obvious the two didn't have a plan.
The High Summoner's hand tightened around his staff and he came forward, casting NulShock on the two. A glowing yellow sphere that would block any lightning-elemental damage began to orbit the two. The creature seemed to be made from lightning, it was likely that its attacks would be of a similar sort.
"Stop!" Braska called to them as he ran to the area, "You won't defeat it like that!"

He braced himself for the strike, only to see seconds later seeing the yellow sphere, blinking at it. The lightning attack ebbed around him and he straightened, tossing his head back to the man with the staff and figuring he'd ask questions after he fled himself out of the creature's reach - hopefully.
"Then how the hell are we supposed to defeat it?!" he snapped back towards the man, keeping his eyes on the creature at all times.
no subject
"That's a real good question! What kinda weak points does that thing have?!" Clearly, they weren't going to beat it just kicking any old part of its body - it was like that "steamer" he and the others had pulled, not like a cougar or lone two-legged. There had to be something, right?

The Force spoke of what the thing was, without any words or 'how' or 'why' or 'when'. It was violence, suffering, and cool negation, dark as a pit and worse than it would've been had it raged---something Sith alchemy could call admirable.
His empathic abilities insisted his attention be (however briefly) on the emotions around him; the horror, nerves and open fear, surprise, sorrow (and so strong from Braska), and an unending desire to break were sensed/felt/smelt/almost tasted.
(He was painfully aware, really, with his tentacles twisting back in a sort of flinch from what they felt from Sin, and his effort to remain calm not entirely successful. He had been trained, but it was still difficult to accept the surrounding moods while isolating his own---his hands were steady, but his hearts were speeding.)
...And then, there was the visual impact of the thing.
Lightsaber in one hand and a water orb forming above the other, Kit stopped beside Spirit. "There must be something---there always is."

She finally found where it ended and glanced back to where it started in time to see Zidane and AndrAIa get hit - almost hit - by a bolt of lightening. Had that come from the creature? She unholstered her gun and replaced the clip of Sacreds with the clip of Gospels - she didn't have many of the powerful bullets, but it looked like she'd need to use them on this thing.
And for now, she waited. With any luck the creature hadn't seen her, and she might be able to interrupt an attack if it went after Zidane and AndrAIa again.

Therefore there was no one to see the slight smirk that crossed his face as he cast a simple Silence on Braska. Much better.
As for Sin, it could hardly be claimed to be quite as good at scheming as the man who sat inside it, but it was nonetheless a force to be reckoned with. It was lightning, it was anger, it was rage - it would not yield so easily to the forces massed before and it meant to show them just that, jaws yawning open as Sin roared its fury to the sky.
And if its lightnings hadn't had any appreciable effect then it would just have to try another tactic, as all around Sin and its attacker a roaring wind rose up, tearing at buildings and clothes, swirling and throwing anything it picked up at anyone hapless enough to get in its path.

"What sort of defense program is this?" she asked, keeping a wary eye on the creature but turning her head enough to see Braska. And she was surprised to see the number of sprites who had appeared to help.
"Alright," she said, happily surprised. "Seems like we have enough sprites to run a decent attack now!"

This explanation would have to be quick.
"You have to find a way inside, defeat the man within. It... takes more planning than what we have right now," he continued, frowning. He'd never been told exactly what had been done to get inside Sin. "Right now, to be honest, we... do not have much of a chance." It hurt to admit, but it was the truth. They could continue on until they had nothing left to give, but they wouldn't make much headway. Not without a concrete plan.

He took a breath to steady himself. He stared at the destruction the creature was causing. How could they not doing anything about this? His gaze snapped back to Braska. "Isn't there anything we can do?!" Other than fall back... other than give it more time to act against the city... There had to be a way - there was how many of them here now? Quick glance, he got seven, including him. If they attacked from all sides, couldn't some jump down or something and break in?
... although... how tough was the man inside?
Tch. This is stupid. What...
Summary time, by popular request.
Which is to say, there's going to be lots of lightning, lots of gale-force winds, and more than a little bit of flying rubble, thanks in part to the wind. Sin itself, while not totally impervious to attacks well be showing little if any damage from all but the most powerful attacks - and Seymour is quite capable of Curing it as well.
And then there's the fact that Sin will also be attacking with physical attacks, should the chance arise. As expected from something that's nearing final-boss levels of power, these will hurt should they connect.
The final result of this? A fairly well destroyed chunk of street, and some thoroughly beaten-up would-be attackers.
