So You Want to Meet A Wizard? [Complete]

Characters: Kit, whomever else wanders in.
Time: Around midday.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate.
Summary: Kit's just gotten through the gate, and is wandering about.
Warnings: None from Kit.


Kit looked around the place. The gate had been pretty impressive, and somehow it felt almost like wizardry. This place couldn't work on mere physics alone. The structures were impressive, but... He pushed through the crowd, and listened, with a wizard's ear. There was magic, but somehow... not the same. This confused him, but told him that he should probably keep a low profile for now. Nothing here felt like it was back home. And... he tried murmuring a few words to his electronic journal that he had gotten, but it didn't respond. Which was even more disturbing, since everything was supposed to know the Speech.

He hoped that maybe someone would come along and point him towards where he could go.

Subaru blinked despite himself. "Serva... what?" he managed. The term seemed so unusual, but the vampire supposed he shouldn't be surprised. After all, they were all from different worlds. Strange terms always cropped up when they simply didn't translate from language to language. Subaru thanked the dimensional witch once more for her concession that the twins be able to understand any language spoke on any world they came across.

"I suppose there are magicians here." Subaru wasn't sure, he hadn't come into contact with them yet, if there were. But he knew magic existed on most worlds, so surely here as well. "And I would guess this is a very different place from where you are from." Subaru had a passing thought for the home he'd left so very long ago, but didn't dwell. He could never return, not while the vampire hunter lived.

"Where are you from, by the way?" he asked simply. He was curious if this young man had ever been off of his home world before coming to Paixao, but it was an awkward question to pop out of the blue. Too many worlds have never heard of other ones that this was no doubt a shock to him.

Kit looked confused, and then laughed. "Ah, sorry. It means 'a place where wizardry is hidden'. In other words, where wizards have to be undercover and can't do spells out in the open." He shrugged. "Where I come from, that's how it is. But I've been places that it's not so."

He thought for a second. "Well, lots of people on my planet call it 'Earth', though its actual designation is Sol III. It's in the Milky Way galaxy... specifically, the Orion Arm. It's a barred spiral galaxy, you see..."

Kit grinned. "This place isn't so different, nah. All the glass reminds me of The Crossings, though somehow I think I was pulled here without a worldgate. Which I didn't think was possible. But I suppose the Powers want me here, or else I wouldn't be here."
