Foundation Day Festival: Games Area

Character(s): anybody playing games
Content: people play carnival games
Setting: Joco da Crianca Fairgrounds, games area
Time: all day~
Warnings: Multithreaded posting format (please include time of day and sub-location in your comment's subject line)

Scattered through the western half of the fairgrounds are the game tents. They've got everything, from knocking over bottles to darts to a dunk tank; if you can think of it, chances are they have it. There's even a "Guess Your Age Or Weight" booth. Typically there is more than one game to a tent. This is a very loud area, with all of the games staff calling at once to get people to come over.

Naturally, there are prizes for those who win, ranging from little knickknacks and candies to giant stuffed animals - nothing particularly useful, but a lot of cute things.

The piece de resistance is a 25-foot Ferris wheel. It seats two to a car (three if you squeeze), and children under four and a half feet tall aren't allowed to ride without an adult.

Mina had nearly panicked when the car door closed without Soma, but now she laughed and applauded his trick jump-- though she hadn't been the only spectator, from the looks of things.

"Oh, dear. You've upset the operator." She waved at the confused and startled man below, then took a good look out over the festival and a few of the shorter buildings. "Wow! It really is like a magical kingdom or something... only without the zombies and evil stuff."

Or maybe there were zombies and evil stuff. But if there were, she hoped that niether she nor Soma would ever meet them. They'd both had more than enough evil stuff in their lifetimes.

Soma smiled and gave the poor guy a sheepish wave. "Going to have to start remembering where I am," he said, hiding a bit of a laugh. "People around here aren't used to things like that."

The average people in this city could certainly qualify as a type of zombie, but Soma wasn't about to complain. The worst they had done so far was give him dirty looks. The only real evil in the city that he had heard of had yet to rear its ugly head around him; which was probably a good thing, or else he'd likely be off on another damn fool quest.

"It really is wonderful," he said, enjoying the view. "Much better than that other place," he added, with a wry grin.
