Foundation Day Festival: Games Area

Character(s): anybody playing games
Content: people play carnival games
Setting: Joco da Crianca Fairgrounds, games area
Time: all day~
Warnings: Multithreaded posting format (please include time of day and sub-location in your comment's subject line)

Scattered through the western half of the fairgrounds are the game tents. They've got everything, from knocking over bottles to darts to a dunk tank; if you can think of it, chances are they have it. There's even a "Guess Your Age Or Weight" booth. Typically there is more than one game to a tent. This is a very loud area, with all of the games staff calling at once to get people to come over.

Naturally, there are prizes for those who win, ranging from little knickknacks and candies to giant stuffed animals - nothing particularly useful, but a lot of cute things.

The piece de resistance is a 25-foot Ferris wheel. It seats two to a car (three if you squeeze), and children under four and a half feet tall aren't allowed to ride without an adult.

"Better luck next time," she said to Stitch with a smile. And when Rikku managed to (okay, maybe by bending the rules a bit, but she was very small) get a prize--a big one--she clapped excitedly. "What prize are you going to get, Rikku?"

Then it was her turn... She stepped up nervously to the stand, and threw her first one. It went through the largest hoop. It wouldn't win her the orange dog that she was staring at, but it did let her get a smaller prize. She bounced up and down, grinning.

They really needed to get things like this in Glie.

(ooc: so ignore the comment from my jupiter journal if it got mailed...I forgot to change journals...)

Stitch smiled for his companions, he hadn't won, but he was happy that they had. "What prizes are you guys going to choose?" He said, looking around at all of the colorful toys and things hanging from the roof of the game area.

Rikku floated up by where the big prizes were hanging, inspecting them each in turn. "Hmmm..." The stuffed animals were at least three times her size, so there was no way she'd be able to lug it around all day. Maybe she'd just poof it back to their hideout real quick or something.

After a little bit, she had it narrowed down to two - a great big orange dog, and a neon pink hippopotamus. "Ooooh, decisions decisions. Hey, what do you guys think? This one, or this one?" she tried, indicating both prizes in turn.

"That one!" Rakka said, indicating the giant orange dog--okay, so she had been eying that one since she got to the booth, it was still the best one there. She had a little pink cat stuffed under her arm as her small prize.

It was then she really look at look at the stuffed animals, and at Rikku. There was a definite problem here. "How are you going to carry it?" Could she even pick it up? Maybe she was a lot stronger than she looked. "I'll carry it, if you want."

Stitch looked at the giant stuffed animal. "Yeah, how are you going to carry it?" He asked. The size difference seemed to big to him.

"If you carry it Rakka, I can carry the smaller one." He offered, trying to be a help.

Rikku flitted around the enormous orange dog as the attendant reluctantly got it down for her, trying to figure out how she was supposed to take it. After a moment the man just set it down on the counter for her, and at the same time something neat occurred to Rikku. "Ooh!"

She flew over and neatly sat herself down on the toy's stomach. "Wow, this is comfy," she commented, leaning back. "Good choice, Rakka!"

But it'd be kind of boring just to sit around, so she got up almost as quickly. "If you could carry it, though, that'd be great," she answered. It'd probably be a comical failure if Rikku tried to pick it up herself, and she did know it, unfortunately.

"Okay!" Rakka said, passing the little cat to Stitch and taking the dog.

The stuffed animals really were cute; Kuu would have loved this place. One game and they had already won two prizes. At this rate they would have more than they could carry. Just what they were going to do with the prizes, Rakka didn't consider.

"What should we play next?" she asked.

Stitch balanced the little cat on his head and held it down with one of his ears.

"How about that one?" He asked, pointing at one of the strength tests with the bell and hammer. "It looks interesting...and easy!"
