The Summoning Dark [Active]
Character(s): Kovu and Kyuubi
Content: Pumped full of darkness by the Organization, Kovu is released back into the city, where he meets another creature of darkness.
Setting: Paixao Central Station
Time: Early morning.
Warnings: People valuing their lives should give these two critters a wide berth.
He didn't know how he'd gotten here. He didn't know why he was here. At the moment, it was entirely possible he didn't even remember who he was. At the moment, such things really didn't matter a whole lot to him. He padded forward slowly, his senses taking in every detail of his surroundings. The scents of dozens upon dozens of people still lingered in the air, although few people walked the streets. Even fewer chose to stay within sight, once they spotted the being prowling the streets.
It was a place of violence. A great battle had been fought here, very recently. He could sense it... the darkness was still very much present here. It was glorious! He could feel the remnants of that darkness bleeding into him, giving him strength, sharpening his senses even further.
Kovu had returned to the city.
His mane, once chocolate brown, had darkened to a midnight black, an outward symbol of the dark energy still running through his veins. His claws clicked softly against the paving stones of the city streets as he stalked down them. His brilliant green eyes had an unearthly glow about them, and anyone unlucky enough to catch his stare would be able to see the barely restrained fury within - the craving for power and destruction.
The lion was sane, but only to a point. He mostly ignored the few people he saw, finding them completely unworthy of his attention. He felt powerful, and weaklings like the blond-haired citizens of Paixao were barely worth the effort to kill. They would come to serve him, for after all, the weak were meant to serve the strong. It was the way of things. And right now, Kovu felt VERY strong.

There were people moving about the station now, some gawking, some shrieking, and all of them more intent upon their surroundings than they were the single fox that was quietly slipping outside. Let them shriek and moan over their precious station. He would bring their city tumbling down around them soon. Oh yes, very soon.
Kyuubi paused in his movements as he spotted something out of place among these humans. There was a lion ahead of him. And if his senses weren't wrong, the creature was certainly emanating power. How curious. As far as he knew, there were no other bijuu here. This bore looking into.

Kovu padded towards the fox demon, savoring the whispers of dark energy coming from the being. He wondered... if he killed it, could he make all that energy his own? It was an enticing thought, although possibly not the best course of action. After all, was a single powerful rush of darkness better than a perpetual, if lesser, source of it? The lion would have to think about that. What he really needed now was more information. For now, he would wait and see what to make of this new development.
"Who are you?" he inquired as he neared the other creature. His voice remained neutral for the moment, neither polite nor demanding. The fox had not yet earned his respect or his scorn.

Sitting down before Kovu, Kyuubi regarded the lion's question as he licked a paw. He knew the power to be something akin to his own demonic energy within this creature. However, the fox was pretty sure that Kovu wasn't one of the bijuu. It was certainly a puzzle for him to work out.
"The humans would say that if you wanted to know someone's name, you should first introduce yourself," Kyuubi commented, offering a smirk to Kovu. "If you must know, I am Kyuubi no Kitsune. And you are...?"
no subject
"The name's Kovu," he added, seeing no reason to hide his identity. It wasn't as if he was some kind of coward, afraid of people finding out who he was. "Formerly of the Outlands, though you've probably never been there. It's a worthless place, full of dirt, rocks, and termites."
Kovu grinned knowingly, "Now this place, it's a lot more... interesting. Less dirt, less bugs... And you never know just what you'll run into next..." He was eying the fox demon as he finished this last sentence. Obviously, Kyuubi was the most interesting thing he'd found at the moment.
no subject
"It's interesting enough, I guess," he replied. "Too clean, too neat for my tastes. And overrun with humans. Not at all a very good combination." Oh yes, give him mayhem, give him chaos. Let him wreak havoc upon all and drive the world insane. That was a much better use for his time than bothering with little green men who threw trains.
"What brings a creature such as yourself to a place like this?" Surely Kovu had goals more along his lines, with the destruction and whatnot. And if not, well, maybe the lion would join him in a good run of mayhem. After all, these humans needed to be reminded of their place.
no subject
"But if you mean 'why am I here in this particular spot?', then I guess it's because I sensed you," he added. "There's too much light in this city. I can feel those damn lumens skulking in the alleys, waiting for a chance to come at me," he snorted disdainfully at the idea of the light-creatures actually trying to attack him. In his current state, he would rip them to pieces. "As if they'd stand a chance... Most of the humans here don't feel that much different from them, either... You, though..." Kovu grinned. "I can sense the darkness and power in you. Infinitely superior to those pansy light-lovers."
no subject
"Surely, you have more plans than just tearing out throats?" the fox asked. "After all, it gets quite bothersome to do the same thing over and over again." He seemed pleased to hear that the lion had noticed him, had picked up on his presence. It was certainly a prideful thing, to be known among strangers.
"A demon such as myself is far superior to these fool mortals, not matter how one looks at it."
no subject
In fact, that particular idea had a lot of merit. It would be rather satisfying to pay back his unseen tormentor with a long, painful death. Now he was beginning to hope that it was due to some crazy device and not the person's own powers. He had a feeling he probably shouldn't get his hopes up, though. He would most likely be disappointed instead. "Maybe they've at least got some minions I can tear up in interesting ways," he wondered aloud, then grinned at the fox, "I don't suppose you have any thoughts on specific techniques I should try out?"
no subject
"Mmmmh, you have a point. Perhaps it would be easier to move swiftly when the occasion merits." The demon considered what Kovu had asked. Minions. Oh, how fun they sounded. With any luck, he would find something interesting to play with soon. If not, he was game for knocking down some buildings.
"Perhaps so." The fox smirk. "Have you ever tried tearing someone limb from limb while they were alive to feel it? They make the most amusing faces... I've also found that it bothers a lot of mortals to see their friends killed before them. You can use that to your advantage."

It was too bad that he was stuck in Paixao and couldn't get back to the Pridelands. The lion was starting to regret that he hadn't just challenged Simba openly and taken his kingdom that way. It was every bit his right to challenge, and instead he'd accepted that stupid exile. Right now, he felt like he could kick the lion king's butt all the way around the savanna two or three times. Now THAT would be a pleasure... He probably wouldn't even need to kill Simba. Just humiliating him would be enough, and Kiara could hardly complain if he beat her dad in a fair fight and then let him live. After all, they'd all been insisting that Kovu was out to kill him. Obviously sparing his life would prove that little theory incorrect.
The lion frowned suddenly, wondering for a moment if he was suddenly going soft again. What did it matter if they thought he wanted to kill Simba or not? Geez, it wasn't like he should even care what they all thought about him.
For some reason, though, something was still nagging at him. He chose to ignore the feeling, instead making a caustic remark about the surroundings to disguise his sudden discomfort. "Well... This place is a dump and boring as hell... How about we go somewhere more interesting?"

The thought occurred to Kyuubi that the lion might be sealed here, same as he. It was a thought to investigate, but he wouldn't check it out in an obvious manner. He was touchy about being sealed himself. There was no reason to rile another up over an idle curiosity.
"That sounds like a plan to me." The fox grinned. "I'm sure we can wreak havoc wherever we happened to sit down."
no subject
"I think we should take this place over," the lion remarked. It seemed like the obvious thing to do. The weaklings should serve the strong. "Hell, some of them already look up to TIMON, and he's just a wimpy little meerkat. They ought to downright worship people like us!"
no subject
"Take over?" Kyuubi repeated. He considered the thought before grinning. "Of course. They should. And we should make it so." Worship? It sounded good to him. And of course, the thought crossed his mind that they might be able to swing human sacrifices... He was a god, after all, or as good as. These people might as well fawn over his mighty presence, and that of his friend. They weren't really good for much else.
no subject
"I wonder who we'd have to challenge to get recognized around here," he thought aloud. It would be a shame if the humans didn't really have a proper leader he could vanquish. That mayor guy didn't really seem worth it, and the lion hadn't heard of anyone else more powerful. He and Kyuubi might just have to take over the city by terrorizing a few citizens until the rest gave in. That wasn't optimal, but if there was no other way to do it, Kovu supposed he didn't have a whole lot of other options.
no subject
"I'm not sure," the fox replied. "If it's that meerkat you mentioned, we could just eat him. Not sure what kind of meal he'd make, though."
Kyuubi thought for a moment, considering things. "Our best option would be to scope it out, see who the officials defer to. Even the human leaders in a city defer to someone. At least, that's what I've seen."
no subject
Not that the lion actually had any experience running a city, of course. But he did know that if he was running one, he wouldn't be skulking about like a hyena. It wasn't proper for a real leader.
The lion did like Kyuubi's idea for finding the people who were REALLY in charge, though. "That's a pretty good idea, actually," he admitted. "It should at least get us on the right track."
no subject
The fox nodded, agreeing with Kovu's thoughts. Of all the places he had been, the leaders had stepped up in order to protect their own people. And most often, a little destruction went a long way to bringing them out. That these leaders weren't available was disappointing, to say the very least.
"Perhaps a little destruction and mayhem won't go amiss?" the fox suggested. "It has been my experience that humans are quite fond of their houses and their buildings. They will be most upset with wanton destruction. Someone would come out to stop it all, and they might hold the answers we seek."
no subject
"Sure, I'd be up for that," he told Kyuubi. "It would be worth finding out if there's anyone who'd actually try to stop us. Although..." he glanced around at the scene of carnage that the fox demon had already left behind. "I can't say you've had much success so far. Guess this isn't wrecked enough for them. I wonder just how much it will take before they finally decide to take notice..."
no subject
"Hate to say this, but I didn't really do it," the fox told Kovu. "It was that little green man who did most of this. Standing proof that you shouldn't outsource such delicate tasks."
The fox offered a smile, a malicious smile that was all fangs. "I don't think we disrupted enough for anyone to take notice. If the train were on the tracks," he motioned to the balled up hunk of metal that used to be one of the trains, "it would disrupt the flow of the transportation. That would be bound to draw attention. And sadly, there's no real structural damage. Nothing that can be seen from a distance, and nothing that poses a hazard to the civilians. Those are key to pulling down the higher ups."
Kyuubi looked around one more time. "So, do we fix this up, or find a blank canvas to start from?"
no subject
He did wonder just how he would manage to do further damage in this place, though. While he did think he could tear things up pretty well, he wasn't sure he could match the sheer might that had been required to move that train in the first place, not even in his current, more powerful state. The fact that someone else had been able to do that kind of annoyed him. But at least it was apparently someone he hadn't met that had done it and not Kyuubi. While he didn't have anything against the fox demon, he also didn't want to think of himself as second-rate next to his new companion. Partners he could handle, but being just a sidekick would get on his nerves pretty fast.
(OOC: OMG, a post from me :O )

"This is a pretty central location," he commented. "Whatever havoc we wreak here takes down the entire transportation system. That will hurt the city, and will annoy the higher-ups, I'm sure."
If Kovu had voiced his concerns about being considered second-rate, Kyuubi would have laughed. In his full glory, not a creature could compare to the great fox. However, sealed as he was into this smaller form, he could no longer match the sheer might he was once capable of. Of course, he wasn't completely absolved of the damages already present in the station. If Yoda hadn't thrown the train first, it would have been on his to-do list.
"Where to start, where to start..."
