Now what do we do? [Active]
Characters: Kir, Toph Bei Fong
Content: Day 2 of Kir's amnesia, Toph suggests they keep on the move.
Setting: O Pastor [G8]
Time: Day after this thread
Warnings: None
It hadn't been a great place to stay, but Toph didn't seem tonotice and Kir was too stressed out to care either way. But between the two of them, they'd come up with money to pay for a room. (He'd found a wallet in the pocket of the coat he was wearing, but it didn't have his pictures within, and he suspected it wasn't his.)
But now that morning had come, Kir was hungry and didn't remember anything new; although a few interesting conversations over his journal, nothing helpful had come of it.
"So now what?" he asked.

But now that morning had come, Kir was hungry and didn't remember anything new; although a few interesting conversations over his journal, nothing helpful had come of it.
"So now what?" he asked.

She turned to Kir's direction. She had barely gotten to know him but she was sympathetic to his aim: he was looking to be with the person that made him feel a lot more stable, and now that he was gone, they had to take his memories too. This was the last straw. She heard Kir's question, and looked in his direction.
"We can't do this alone. I'm going to try and get your memories back, but we'll need help. I have this, uh, friend. You know him, but you forgot you did, and...well, whatever, he's an acquaintance. His name is Timon. He's really conceited and really annoying, but he's been gathering people together, and I think that might be our best bet for now."
Toph stopped to appreciate the decor of the place. Although she got the idea it wasn't one of their better places to stay, there was a serene stillness about it that made Toph a bit more certain.

Toph sighed and took a drink from the citrus-like juice she'd been given. Bitter. Toph liked it already.
Whatever their enemies were, they were all over the island. They caused havoc and kidnappings, and who knew what they did to their kidnapped people?
If they hurt Terra, I'll make them wish they were never born!
Toph shook her head. Getting livid wasn't the answer. She had to take charge, if only for a little while, and make nice. When she met those Organization freaks, the niceness would cease.

He hesitated before adding, "He said he saved my life, and that I owe him."

Toph didn't want to mention Terra. She was already worried that she hadn't contacted her at all. At what Kir said about Timon, Toph chuckled.
"I think Timon's pulling your leg there. Unless you were caught in some kind of bear trap, it's real unlikely a meercat can help a human, let alone save his life, right? I'd love to hear how he did it."
no subject
"That seems like a pretty bold thing to lie about," Kir said dubiously. "If he just wanted to joke around, he could've said I owed him money or something, wouldn't that be more believable? And... meerkat?"

Toph sighed. She could tell that Kir was still not sure how to take all of this, and even she was starting to feel a little anxious. The more she talked about meeting Timon, the more she at least wanted to be around people they could trust.

"Yeah," he said finally. "If I get my memory back." Which he wasn't sure would happen, if only because, memories didn't just disappear for no good reason. He was pretty sure he hadn't had any sort of accident, based on the fact that he wasn't hurt.
"If you think it's a good idea," he said finally, "then I guess we can go an' see him. Don't expect me to be real excited about it though."
no subject
Toph grinned. "Believe me, you don't have to be excited about meeting Timon. He's got a big enough head as it is. To me, meeting him will be like meeting an annoying younger brother if I had one."
At that, Toph sprung to life, dusting off her clothes. "But now's a good as time as any. We should look this place up again, it seemed pretty nice. Be my eyes and I'll be your bodyguard, ok?"
no subject
"Okay," he answered Toph's declaration. "Guess we're headed back to the train station, right?"
no subject
Toph got up quickly and slipped back in the chair, giving Kir a sheepish grin. "Uh, lead the way? I'm still getting used to this place."
