Nobody said a word for awhile. They simply held hands, walking back from the area where they had battled their nightmares. If anyone had turned their noses at the bedraggled group, the trio didn't see, couldn't see. It was a moment that, after all the fear and the fright, that should have been celebrated. No more Dan, no more scared Danny, and the hope that his sister was alive. In that sense, they'd won. They had every right to celebrate.

Some prices to pay for the end of nightmare, though, can be pretty high.

Valerie could see it in their eyes, and she didn't need a mirror to know it was in her own. Misha looked so pained that it hurt Valerie, but even she was struck dumb. She never knew she could feel so tired, didn't know that Danny could look so lost. The group was somber, and they didn't need to talk to each other to figure they'd stay that way for a little while.

They reached Cafe Ersesat and Valerie flung the keep a few glittering leaves. It didn't matter. The three tromped up to their room, and they all walked over to the bed and lay down a moment. They were silent for a long time. Valerie stirred, then looked at Danny.

"So...you're the ghost kid."

Once again, time stopped.

Luxord sighed, muttering under his breath as he exited the dark portal. By this point, he was simply sick of fetch duty, and he wouldn't be surprised if he had to pick up IX's slack as well. It certainly didn't seem like the other Nobody was doing too well on his own.

There was nothing to interest him in this room aside from the designated experimentation subject. He simply hauled the girl into the portal, allowing it to close behind him. At least he was done.

For now.

Once again, time resumed.
