The Lion and the Lamb [active]
Character(s): Kasugami, Leon
Content: Entering Paixao, I am a sheep.
Setting: Joutenheim
Time: HIGH NOON
Warnings: None, right now. Don't make me bump it up, Weon ):
To say that Kasugami was lazy was irreverent, offensive and rude. It was also probably close to the mark. Moreso she was a slave to her whims and enjoyed feeling good over all other things in life. Probably indulgent was a good word to describe her as well. For all of the sins to be indulgent in was that of drinking. Not that drinking is a sin in and of itself, of course. However, the amount of alcohol that one consumes in ratio to their bodyweight and rather in ratio to the average amount of alcohol others of their bodyweight also consume... To say the least, Kasugami had gotten very very drunk the other night.
Now, to put this in perspective. Kasugami can drink twice of her bodyweight rather easy. (Bodyweight being a relevant term as her exact mass and weight is subject to whim). Typically a long drinking session ends with the god laying on her back in a bed of stars and wondering (for a brief moment) where she was. Usually this questioning was answered rather quickly and she was up and wandering off again.
Today Kasugami woke up with that deliciously hung over feeling (the advantage to being a god was that the hangover was quite not that painful). She also woke up with fingers. Not the oddest thing in the world but usually she's a sheep. A drunken traveler sheep. Today she was none of the above and it was a bit of a displaced feeling. A hand reaching over her shoulder assured her that her gourd (ever-full) was present. Well, she was always up for new experiences. Squaring her shoulders, Kasugami stood and headed for what looked like civilization. And where there was civilization there was a bar. Er. Directions and knowledge. Yes. Of course.
The gatekeeper of Joutenheim was pleasantly surprised when a sheep-person-thing-mix walked up to him and asked where the nearest bar was. Or tavern, really. He got over that shock fairly well and grabbed an item, flicking it open to show her where the map was and indeed there was a most established and wonderful house of alcohol on there. Then he asked for her name.
"Kasugami, like so." She traced the kanji in the air as he took down her name. Map in hand Kasugami headed off in search of The Cheap Prayer or possibly that Ginger place. Either looked good, maybe she'd hit both today before the sun set.

It was always hot and moist in the waterway. The walls glimmered and reflected the gently lapping water, which plastered them in beautiful waving nets of light that came from the candles Aerith and Yuffie had lit in here earlier this morning. Leon did not know what time it was now and found himself, bitterly, not caring: whatever time it was in Traverse Town, there was never any true time. The skies never changed.
There was no endless blue, no clouds, just stars: endless waves of stars that shown brightly regardless of the city's lights, ones that blinked out now and then, never to be seen again, symbolizing worlds destroyed by the Heartless. Every night, Traverse Town got a little bit darker because of that, and each star, each world that went out, was like a grain of sand slipping down to the bottom of the hourglass. Time was running out.
Would Sora leave them in the darkness?
So many hours spend training in that cave, training, endlessly training to fight a war he couldn't even fight, Leon heard the dull clanking of his Gunblade on the damp pebbles as he dropped to his knees, feeling blackness curl up the corners of his eyes like the dark disheveled hair clung curled to his cheeks, dampened by his sweat.
When he opened his eyes, he saw it was Paixao.
Leon hated surprises. Loathed them. And to find yourself passing out only to wake up in a place that is completely foreign and strange is especially irritating. He was alarmed to say the least, but just like everyone else, saw civilization ahead in the domes and hoped to be saved somehow as he walked toward them. He noted all the strange individuals coming inside the place too. All of them were giving their names and getting small square objects in return.
The lion had to quirk his brow as he made note of the... what was that, a sheep person? As the sheep person ahead of him spelt her name in the air. Kasugami? What a strange name. Then again, this whole place was strange. "Paixao," he quickly learned it was, after trying to press the man who gave him his journal for questions after he'd given him his name. But that was the most he could get out of him; perhaps things would have been more fruitful if he had asked where the nearest bar was.
A sigh, and Leon stepped ahead like the rest of them. At first the sheep didn't seem to be much interest of him, but... well. It couldn't help to ask someone what the hell this is about. His heavy boots took him travelling after her, tapping her shoulder, and muttering, "Excuse me."
He was going to regret this, wasn't he?

"Hi. Who are you? Did you just get here too? Isn't it niiii~ice?" She raised a hand and spread it over the sky to indicate what she meant. Then lowered her gaze, grinning and chewing her lip. "It's kind of small, like a bottle, but at least it isn't raining. It wouldn't be bad if it rained either, but... you know." She wrinkled her nose at the end of that.
no subject
No. He didn't know. What the hell was she talking about? "Have you been here before?" he decided to settle for asking, just to avoid any more potential stupidity.
no subject
"Here? No. I don't think so. Have you? Often?" Kasugami asked.
no subject
She may have been drunk, or hung-over, or something along those lines, but he still hoped she would be honest.
no subject
"Here? Probably not, but don't you think it's nice?" Kasugami did have a tendency to go places she didn't mean to. That was what meandering and wandering and getting drunk did to a

Again, his face faultered. His brows furrowed, and Leon looked very irritated now. "No. It's not nice. I'm not supposed to be here." Gaze lifting, Leon stared up at the domes. Ugh. That was making him feel even more trapped...
no subject
"You should cheer up. Being annoyed won't help you one bit," then the most marvelous idea hit her. "I'm going to find a bar, want to come? It'll be fantastic!"
no subject
A sigh. He shut his eyes a moment and tilted his head off to the side a moment, once again, as he contemplated his choices. She was right, being annoyed with the situation, or scared- like he was, secretly- wouldn't help him any bit. But he couldn't sit around and get drunk, he had to find his friends.
Well, he supposed he could go with her for now and inspect that thing that the person at the gate had given him. He didn't know if he really intended to get smashed or anything though. Much less even touch a drop of alcohol. He didn't have time.
no subject
"Maybe a few drinks will take your mind of being grumpy?" She added with a grin. Maybe he'd stop brooding for a while.
no subject
"Fine." Fine, he'd try to stop worrying for once and just go about doing his own thing. Leon under stress was a very impulsive lion, and he didn't tend to make the wisest choices. He knew he might regret this later, but maybe having a stiff drink or two would easy his mind. Hell, it might even encourage him to think things through a bit more slowly.
And he could still just sit there and figure out what that journal was all about...
"Let's go then," he said, crossing his arms over his chest.
no subject
"Malanina, that looks a bit like a bar. Doesn't it? Maybe?" She asked, positively brimming with excitement now that she had both a bar and a drinking companion in sight.

Following the sheeplady along (not like he had a choice), he resisted the urge to mumble to himself about various things that irritated him along the way, mainly the way she seemed to be so damned eager to get there. It wasn't as if they were going to a fire. They were going to get drunk. Er. The sheep was. Not Leon. Definitely not Leon.
"It seems good enough for me," Leon said when they had reached the place, looking up at the sign and then eyeing over the establishment itself.
no subject
"Let's see, let's see," Kasugami practically cheered as she reached for the door and tugged it open. Her eyes glossed over the interior and focused on the bar and looked for a listing of drinks. That was the best way to judge a place, by the drinks not the company it keeps.
And if she had anything to say about it Leon's glass would never be empty.
no subject
Ah well. He followed Kasugami in and looked around the place; it was a bit seedy and didn't suit his tastes, however it was dark and quiet, and one glance over the list of drinks that was posted up on a nearby pillar. He headed over to it and stared a moment, reading over slowly. He wasn't sure why he was doing that; he wasn't the one who would be drinking... of course.
no subject
"We want one of everything! Or, lots of things, can you do that?" She asked the bartender. Kasugami was well aware of her upper limits of drinking, but had to think about her drinking buddy too. They'd need a lot of alcohol if his tolerance was anything like his attitude.
no subject
This sheeplady was even more crazy than he'd originally thought!
no subject
"...I can definitely drink most of it. You're supposed to help me. You can't come to a bar and not drink!" Kasugami replied cheerfully, though she sounded mildly horrified at the idea that he wasn't going to drink.
no subject
All right, this was sounding more and more like a very bad idea...
no subject
This was totally sounding like the best idea ever.
no subject
...Great. Just great. Running out of excuses not to drink, Leon looked down dully as the barkeep quickly set down something in front of him.
Ugh.
no subject
Obviously her definition of nice was a little different than his.
no subject
Seemed fine. Ah well. Hakuna matata. He downed a gulp of it and swallowed, heaving a dejected sigh afterwards. Bitter, not too tasty, but he could already feel the buzz. He shouldn't drink anymore. But... well. What could it hurt? Another drink.
no subject
"That's the spirit!" Kasugami urged him on, as she finished her own drink and reached for another. Now all they needed was a few more people and it would really be a party.
no subject
Sighing once he had finished it, he set the glass down and stared dully at the counter in front of him. It was slightly blurry.
Slowly, he reached for the second drink that was placed in front of him.
no subject
no subject
"No. I'm not going to drink any," he insisted, although his words were slightly slurred.
no subject
"But it'll be fu~~~~n," She wheedled.
no subject
Well, it seemed like all plans to make contacts with Aerith, Yuffie, or even Cid, were out the window now. And the only one who might have approved of this behavior would have been Cid, huh? Damn... at least chances of seeing anyone here were slim.
no subject
"...It'll be nice. Just a sip?" She asked him, and tugged her journal open. Maybe it'd be nice to see what was going on. Browsing and drinking was one of the better combinations in life.
no subject
He looked down at her journal. Fuck. That was what he was supposed to be doing. Supposed to be contacting the others, trying to find away out of this... Pie... this Pie place, wherever it was. What a dumb name. He hadn't seen a single fucking pie since he'd gotten here.
One hand shifted down and moved through his pockets to find his journal as well. He pulled it out and dropped it on the table with his lack of coordination, flinching at the sound it made.
"I have to... talk to Aerith... or Yuf... nnn." His eyes shut for a moment. A dizzy spell.

Speaking of nibbling, she felt rather munchy herself. Kasugami chewed her lip absently.
