Thirteen More [Completed]
Character(s): Roxas, Saix
Content: The Thirteenth meets Saix (so far).
Setting: Around Vanaheim, [G9]
Time: Late at night
Warnings: OMG MORE DRAMAZ LAWL and uh.. Roxasemo-ness angst-ie stuff and Saix being Saix?
This really wasn't going anywhere.
The blonde boy had been walking for an hour... no, probably more than an hour judging from the darkness. Honestly, Roxas couldn't tell how fast time was passing. Or how slow for that matter. Right now, since he met his Other, the next important thing was himself. The fight with Sora had tired him a bit-- after all, the Thirteenth was tired to begin with, teleporting from place to place because of the large headed boy. Dib. He had forgotten all about Dib until just now. Oh well.
To Roxas, despite that Nobodies had no feelings, the fatigue he felt right now was real. Quietly, the Nobody leaned against a wall, slowly sinking more toward the ground. This felt nice. If it were raining, it might be even more refreshing. He sat with one leg folded and the other stretched out. The boy silently laughed at his own hopes. Such petty wishes. Maybe this is how those with heart feel...
Maybe this was as close to stress a Nobody could imagine?
Sitting down wasn't exactly helping the situation he was in. The Thirteenth had no where to stay, had no means of contact with others, and had no idea where in the world he was. Paixao was just the name. Where was he?
He scowled-- he was loosing his train of thought. As much as he enjoyed meeting his Other, the hooded Nobody couldn't help but feel that it wasn't going to last very long. This enjoyment would mean nothing if he wasn't around to have it. Shoot. The Organization.
No doubt, the Organization was in charge of Paixao. And if they were, that would mean that if he was found... Roxas closed his eyes. Calm down, he told himself. He never left Organization XIII, maybe he had planned to if things became desperate but, they wouldn't be as stupid as to assume that the Thirteenth left. If he could explain the situation... What was wrong with him? Why was he thinking these stupid thoughts? The blonde bit his lip. The Organization never explained anything to him-- he wasn't obliged to tell them anything either.
Why in the world were his thoughts so unorganized?

Why in the world were his thoughts so unorganized?

Saix had remained in Paixao for one full day thus far and to what avail? Nearly nothing. The Organization XIII had done little within the past twenty-four hours. Were they not going to continue moving with the plans or were they simply loitering within the city and having a grand old time? Saix didn't have the time for such nonsense, not if he wanted a heart.
But there was more mayhem within Paixao than just the Organization's plans. Young Number Thirteen seemed to have taken matters into his own hands. Saix had received the rumors of Roxas' slipping allegiance to the Organization and growing obsession with his Other, Sora. But who would think the boy would act so quickly? He had no feelings to act upon and no heart to respond to.
Since that incident, Number Seven had kept a close eye on Roxas. He was soon led to Vanaheim... but what did Roxas plan on doing now? He had no where to run and no place to hide.
The Organization was in control.
Ominously, Saix stepped out of the dark portal and landed on the ground with a clack of his boots upon the stone street.
Saix's voice struck through the emptiness of the area, ringing off the walls and buildings. "That was a bold move, Number Thirteen."

Nonetheless, it was nothing to hide right? There were twelve others that wanted a heart but it just so happened they didn't have a living Other. At least as far as he knew anyway. All this particular young Nobody wanted was to see the one that was half of him. Paixao had given him that. It wouldn't be bad idea to stay here a bit longer. Who knows? Maybe he had the luck of the gods on his sides. Again with stupid thoughts: Roxas scowled.
The sound of someone's steps interrupted the blonde's cycle-like musing.
Then there was a familiar voice-- "That was a bold move, Number Thirteen." It was Number Seven.
A wave of panic took the Nobody's body. I was right! Organization XIII is here... The chances that they're in charge of Paixao is high. They're going to interfere with my plans. The Thirteenth told himself to calm down. If he could deal with Saix rationally then he could do... something. He still needed to work that part out but the important thing was not to die anytime soon.
When Roxas calmed down and was convinced his voice wouldn't deceive him, he replied, remaining sitting down, "What do you want, Number Seven?"

And of course, as much as he'd hate to admit it, Roxas was the one closest to gaining his heart. His Somebody was still around. His original heart was still as alive as ever. What had happened in Hollow Bastion during Roxas' birth was still an unsolved enigma. True enough, Sora had turned into a Heartless but he was brought back by a Princess of Heart.
Had Xemnas remembered this? Was any of this information considered in his plans? Either way, Saix would have to trust the Superior no matter what. It was he who would find a way to regain their hearts.
"What do you want, Number Seven?"
A mocking sneer peeled across the Nobody's lips. "An earnest question, I'm sure, but perhaps instead you can answer this:
"What did you truly hope to achieve in speaking with Sora? What is there to find in a Somebody?"

The blue-eyed boy scowled at the other Nobody then returned to looking at the dark sky. There would many things Roxas couldn't stand for, one was being stalked (despite the fact that it could easily be said he stalked Sora) and two was being cornered. Right now, Saix was doing both.
Or in short, the intruder was not the type of person the blonde would wish for any kind of company.
It could not be helped... Number Thirteen would have to reply before being replied to. In his mind Roxas thought, 'That's none of your concern, go away.' Of course if he replied in such a manner, it wouldn't do him any good. So instead, out loud he replied curtly, "Don't play dumb. It was my dream, that's all." Hopefully that was enough to get Saix off his back for now.

The assumed feelings and emotions of Nobodies were naught but a game. They were amusing and, if anything, pulled them together. With no heart and no feelings, life was nothing but a sham in which they had a role to act. But Roxas' feelings... there was a genuine feel around them. Those emotions always lead back to the same thing. To a heart... to a Somebody... and in this case, to Sora.
"Playing dumb?" The smirk fell from Saix's face immediately. "It's far from that, Thirteen. But a dream? Nobodies don't dream. But let's be hypothetical for awhile. What did that dream consist of? Just meeting him? Finding a heart? Or is it something else entirely?"
no subject
Of course, that could always change. Not now, obviously, with Number Seven being increasing more annoying by the second. Why couldn't he just shut up instead of babbling nonsense? A voice in the back of his mind told the blonde that he should be considerate of those that enjoyed listening to their own voice.
Like heck that was going to happen.
Roxas's scowl became much more prominent. He was nearly losing his cool. Out of nowhere (well, not entirely but...), Saix waltzed in and expected him to answer questions. The day just had to end this way. "Shut up. You're a Nobody too-- you have a goal don't you?" The young Nobody stood up, leaning against the wall of a side of a building, still glaring he continued: "Everyone in the Organization wants the equivalent of a heart. What we feel isn't a dream I supposed. It's simply instinct."
Of course it wasn't nearly as simply as he just made it sound but right now really was not the time to muse about it.
no subject
"You're correct," Saix drawled. "We have no dreams. Nobodies run on nothing but instant, just like the Heartless. It is only in our nature to pursue a heart. Maybe that is your excuse for your actions then? Sora does have your heart, doesn't he?"
And would Saix do the same thing if he were in Roxas' position? That was a hard answer to come by indeed. The Superior had assured the Organization that they will have hearts, they had to do nothing but follow his orders. And of course Saix's Other was long gone. There was nothing to consider.
His heart was long gone.

Roxas glared at Saix as he continued to speak. Was Number Seven ignorant of the fact that he wanted him to be quiet and go away? Or maybe the other Nobody was aware but simply wished to annoy the Thirteenth. At the reply Saix gave, the blonde snorted, and retorted despite the fact it would be better if he was silent. It was done on the spur of the moment. Excuse indeed. "You should stop asking questions you know the answer to."
With that said, he completely disregarded the first question. Everyone in Organization XIII should know... what it felt like to want a heart. To feel so desperately in need of one. But with the Superior in power, there was nothing that Roxas could gain from being in the Organization. They had not given him answers even though they all knew. Although the Thirteenth did not care for the other's well being very much, he doubted any of them would get a heart soon.
Unless Paixao was another idiotic form of the Organizations attempts. Perhaps it would be successful. But that was none of his business. Or at least, that is what the blonde Nobody felt.

But then again, that was not Number Seven's decision to make. It alone lay in the Superior's power. The Superior wanted something from Roxas, that was true enough. But what? His emotions? That was something Saix highly doubted. The Keyblade? Perhaps, but due to current events, that was far from the Organization's reach. If they ever needed the Keyblade's power, they would now have to turn to another source.
But Paixao was a realm of fascinating opportunities, ones that would only exist in the dreams of people's hearts.
"Despite what I know and don't know..." Saix began, taking a few moments to examine the boy's expression of growing, "...my time grows short. But I suggest you consider what I've said today, Key of Destiny. I don't speak of things that hold little importance."

Organization XIII was exclusive, or at least it was suppose to be. There was no real reason for him to be bonded to a group of people whose circumstances were so much different than his. As of right now though, the Organization was not of great importance to the Thirteenth. Hence, Roxas simply stayed silent as Saix announced his leave while still glaring at the taller Nobody. There was nothing more the blonde felt he should consider so a reply was unnecessary.
He gave a snort and turned his head to face the wall as opposed to Number Seven, wondering when the Organization would send another crony of theirs to have a pointless meeting like this again.

Saix soon began wondering why the Superior took interest in this boy. He couldn't truly be a Nobody if he felt emotions this strongly. Those emotions only contributed to his rebellious behavior. Even the most zealous of Organization members exhibited more self-control than Number Thirteen. The fact was growing clearer by the minute: The Superior would simply have to find a new key.
But until then, Saix was forced to find some sort of solution but that was easy enough to come by. Slowly and carefully, the Nobody reached into the depths of his coat. From there he pulled a sleek, ebony journal, one that all the citizens of Paixao carried... including the Organization. With a flick of the wrist, Saix tossed it to Roxas and then turned his back.
With a wave of his hand, a portal again appeared, darkness churning within its depths. Number Seven paused only long enough to utter one statement before leaving Roxas alone entirely, "You should watch who you put your trust in."
