Li to the rescue! ....again. [Complete]

Character(s): Linali Li and Rin
Content: Rin's in trouble so Linali's going to help him!
Setting: Eastwards between Actua Are and Auntie Unde's [J7-H7]
Time: Late Afternoon, a little before dusk.
Warnings: None really. Nobodies don't bleed. ♥

Because the main door was locked, Linali had to use her window. Before leaving, she neatly folded a clean t-shirt and carefully placed it into her first-aid kit, which was really a handbag with all the instruments. Cotton, scissors, thread, cottonbuds, peroxide, bandages, etcetera. Hoisiting the argyle bag onto her shoulder and tying her hair, the dark-haired girl walked to the back of the room, in line with the open balcony. A subtle nod, and took a running start and leaped off the guard and shot into the air. It was like a repeat of the day she met Gunzi.

'Enbu: Kirikaze!'

A human missile, a giant wasp: she was too fast to be caught, too destructive to mess with. The ground was a blur until her speed decreased and she fluttered to the ground, a few yards away from that familiar general store. Eyes narrowed, she scanned the street. Everything was closed, quiet... save the unearthly noise the monsters hissed with each movement. Black boots hurriedly clicking away, Linali searched for the Igura participant.

Rin had positioned himself against the door, where he had placed a table on its side so the back was flat against it. His katana was still out, blade prepared, and his other hand was resting on his side to stop the blood flow. He didn't realize it was that bad until he had stopped talking to Linali to assess the situation. "Hm... white things all over the place," he began talking to himself idly, drumming his fingers on the hilt of his sword under the tsuba. "Bleeding, bruising... good day so far." He said sarcastically, bitterly. However, he shifted somewhat so that his blue-green eyes could peer over the top of the table and through the broken window out to the street.

White things galore... and... what? He heard clicking, and followed the noise.

He shifted up to his knees a little, and peeked out further. A girl. His eyes narrowed, and he considered a moment before he slid the chair slowly away and opened the door cautiously. He held his sword just out of sight, sliding his journal away from his knees so he could crane his upper body out of the doorframe in absolute silence. Until of course he decided he should call out for the teenager. "Linali-chan, over here." He was quiet but loud enough at the same time, and knew that the girl would hear him. "Quickly." Well duh quickly, she got here pretty damn fast, idiot.

Rin waited for her to enter before he slid the table against the door again after shutting it, positioning his sword carefully against one of the legs and sitting his journal aside him. Blue-green eyes followed Linali as she sat down, before he smiled warmly though a bit forced due to his irritation and worry.

"I must thank you again, Linali-chan. Risking your safety and coming to help me..." he wasn't even going to ask how she got out of there without Gunzi tagging along. If attached to someone, he noticed that he didn't often leave them. He pulled his jacket off the shoulder he had rested it on, placing it on another leg of the table to dangle. After this he pulled his shirt partway off, over the shoulder on his left since that was where the bite or scratch or whatever that thing had left behind was. "Ready whenever you are, doctor."

"It was deeper than I expected as well," Rin said idly, smirking a little and scratching at his blonde hair with his non-bloody hand. He hardly even twitched when she put the peroxide on, though his lip did curl up a little. He was well adjusted to pain, but the sting of the clear liquid did provoke something out of him. "That's good at least. I wouldn't watch the stitches to rip or anything if I got in another fight..." Rin would probably open his wounds if he fought, though, but he wouldn't think of that.

Pulling his shirt off the rest of the way, he frowned deeply at the orange cloth before wiping his bloody hand off on a spot lacking blood. He always did like that shirt, but he couldn't wear it forever. Taking the shirt from Linali he gave her one of his truthful warm smiles, before setting it on his lap. "Thank you, Linali." Then the blonde thought a moment, before reaching for his journal and opening it up. He browsed for a moment, before his brow apparently knit together. "... Niisan," was all he said, and in the meantime began a... rather nice conversation with his brother.

It wasn't until partway through it did he realize a problem in having him and Linali go to find his brother... she'd want to take him back to the hotel... where Gunzi was. His brow furrowed even more when he realized the error in mentioning Linali knew him. "Damnit."

".... No," Rin said lightly, eyes softening only when they looked over towards her. However, they narrowed a little when he glanced back to his journal. "I... I told Shiki we were going to find him... And I hadn't meant to, but I told him you knew Gunzi..." he seemed to pout and frown at the same time, and somewhat looked like a kicked puppy. Shaking his head, he shut his journal after assuring Shiki he would come look for him anyways.

He smiled a little however and pulled the the red shirt on now. "Linali-chan, we should go... but I'm not sure I should go with you... Niisan... Niisan is near Muspelheim. But he and Gunzi don't get along at all..." Rin was torn in two at the moment; he wanted to face his teenage fear of Gunzi and go with Linali because she was a nice girl, but he needed to help his brother. He needed to.

Rin listened to her a moment, pulling his jacket back on and then putting his journal into an inner pocket close to his body. He smiled now at her words, reaching over towards his sword and shifting to stand. It didn't take him long, it wasn't that difficult for him to move despite the wound. It was only his side, after all. But... he had to be careful anyways he supposed.

"I'll think about the idea of seperate rooms, Linali-chan." He kept the smile, tilting his head to look over at her. "But it's up to how Shiki reacts..." he shook his katana off, just in case anything was on it, before sliding it with expertise across the top of his scabbard to slide into it. "Let's go see niisan, then." He grinned a little, although it wasn't full-heartily. His brother would strangle him, wouldn't he?

Quietly now, Rin followed with his hand under his tsuba like he normally walked when pensive or thoughtful, considering what he had said to Shiki with a bit of forlornness to him. He wanted to getalong with his brother, not fight with him... but if he had to fight to get along, so be it. However, when he heard her chime out her cheer to finding the door to the roof, he raised his head and lost the upset and went for curious. Observing her leap, he tilted his head like a curious animal before smiling a bit.

Well, proved she could handle herself; she got there fast and she was quite the jumper.

"I don't mind. I've had worse experiences than heights and speeds." He assured that his katana was tightly in his sheath and the sheath tightly on his belt. Afterwards, he buttoned the inside pocket shut that contained his journal, despite the risk of the pocket popping at the seams. Of course, Rin wasn't about to go into details about worse experiences, it probably wasn't smart.

A chuckle escaped at this, and Rin raised a brow a little under his sunny hair. Well, at least Linali was about as cheerful as he was usually. She did get him in a slightly better mood than what he was a moment ago.

"I'm not sure. He just said he was around Muspelheim... He's stubborn." the blonde sighed a little, tilting his head up so that his hair slid from his face as he followed her in a slight stooped position. When he got up to the roof with her, he glanced around before scratching at the top of his head idly. "I... I think I'd like your help finding him, Linali-chan... You seem to be able to avoid the creatures quite well... but... I'll still have to think about going back to the hotel with you." He was trying to think of the safety of his stubborn-ass brother, as well as the safety of Linali. A fighter or not, Shiki and Gunzi getting into it was probably not safe.

"Hm," Rin was one for observation, and took note of the frown easily which was the cause of the 'hm.' There was another mission for her while she was out here. Well then, he could infer from this that was the answer at least of the frown. He wouldn't question it, he'd just make sure Linali was sent on her way for whatever she needed to do as well. Besides, Gunzi was hard to handle when he got bored or worried, if memory aided.

"Don't worry, I don't think it'd take too long... you tend to know when niisan is in the area after a fight," he chuckled a little, tilting his head again and placing his hand under his tsuba again. It was just a natural position for it to go, thumb poised against the bottom as though prepared to push it out suddenly for a fight. It was probably a natural defense after those years in Igura.

Ah? Blushing? Blinking blue-green eyes he observed her arm, before now it seemed she was looking him over. "Ah? Weight?" He scratched at his cheek with the hand not near his sword, shrugging a shoulder. "Around seventy kilos, I think." If he were Shiki he would never let her carry him. Although one thing that would've nice was if he was still about the size of Linali, actually. "Give or take. I haven't weighed myself in a bit of time..."

[identity profile] photomortem.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
If he was bothered by her arm any, he didn't show it. Smiling at her giggle, he raised a brow up to hide in his hair again before shaking his head with a chuckle. Rin then decided that Linali's laughter was somewhat contageous. Surprisingly, Rin was tall and light, but that was good for the situation.

"Shouldn't be too hard," he was quite certain of it. He was a trained fighter, he could very well run and jump on queue. Lifting up his arm closest her he put it around her shoulders, fingers curling around his sheath a bit more to keep it there, just in case. Rin stepped back with her smoothly, his dark colored boots in-step with her as though expertised in timing. He was, but that wasn't the point now.

And then she hit one, and they were running and he was trusting her not to drop him, a person he had hardly met. But he could trust Linali. He knew these kinds of things about people.
