Carbuncle's New Groove! Er... Clothes!

Character(s): Kronk, Beast Boy, and Carbuncle
Content: After finding some clothes for Carbuncle, the group embarks on new adventures. Nobodies provide adventure sooner than planned.
Setting: Cid's Shop
Time: Morning? Or something?
Warnings: Carbuncle is cute.

The trip to Cid's shop was a complete success. Kronk and Beast Boy had managed to find a suitable outfit for Carbuncle and the shopkeeper accepted their money without any problems. Kronk had even found himself a few items, including a change of clothes for later and some snack food to hold them off until they could find a better meal. He packed his purchases into a backpack that he'd found on the racks, explaining to the others that it would come in handy.

Now the three of them were leaving the store, and Kronk was divying up some of the treats he'd purchased, most of which consisted of food that was good to take on camping trips. "I think the exchange rate here must be pretty favorable to my currency, he commented as he pulled out a few small packages. "They didn't ask much for these... Hm... Let's see, I've got some jerky here..." he started to hand it off to Beast Boy, then thought better of it and tucked the package under his arm for a moment, "I'll save that for me and Carbuncle, since you're a vegetarian... How about a granola bar? They've got chocolate chips in them! Or some trail mix... That can be pretty good when you're camping. Er... Not that we're camping at the moment."

It was proving to be one long day for a certain vice-captain. Even if she hadn't been able to find Aizen when she'd finally made her way back to the museum (she'd figured out the map! -- sort of?), she was glad she'd gotten some rest while she'd had the chance. What had happened, she wasn't sure... but the sight of the townspeople being slaughtered was enough to spur the shinigami into action. She hadn't been about to sit aside and do nothing!

But no matter how many she eliminated, there were always more in waiting. It almost felt endless...

Just what were they? Their presence... it was eeriely similar to the reitsu of a Hollow. But at the same time, it felt so different. Not a mask to be seen, either.

At least they died about as easily as most lower level Hollows. And like them, they faded away without so much as a trace. Tobiume was plenty enough to plow through most of the monsters without too much trouble. If only there weren't so many of them. Even if they weren't so hard to defeat, channeling her energy into Tobiume's flames for so long had a way of taking its toll. On top of that, one good night of sleep wasn't near enough to compensate what she'd lost out on since her initial awakening. The dark rings ever-present beneath her eyes were evidence enough of that. She was tired; more tired than she was willing to admit.

Though she wasn't fully aware of it just yet, Hinamori was slowly plowing her way towards the others, marked by flashes of firey pink amongst the swarms of silver.
