Here Boy~ [Completed]

Character(s): Faye and Ein.
Content Faye goes to find human!Ein.
Setting: Paixao Central Station [J6]
Time: Wednesday2.
Warnings: Probably a bit of foul language on Faye's part :|

Faye slipped off of the train with no mishap. She wasn’t sure how they worked, nor did she know if she should have paid before getting on. It didn’t really matter – she would have found her way on regardless of her lack of money or if anyone had tried to stop her. Grinning at her little achievement, she remembered why she had gotten on the thing in the first place and frowned. Right… Ein. Human Ein.

“This is insane,” she groaned to herself, pushing past the other people in the area and heading away from the bustle and noise. She heard Ed was here. She knew Spike was here. And yet here she was, looking for the stupid mutt. In human form. She didn’t really believe it, but the conversation she had with him the night before… just hurt her head.

Well… stranger things had happened.

Able to get a pretty good view of the crowd, Faye cupped her hands to her mouth and yelled. “Ein! Eiiiiin! C’mere, boy!” She felt people staring and bared her teeth at them. Oh god, she really was going crazy. “Ein!!”

Short as his attention span was, it took Ein a lot of willpower to stay in one place for longer than a few hours. There were so many distractions for a lonely and hungry dog, especially the smells of various delicious foods. At one point, as he sat on the cobblestones outside the station building, Ein could have sworn he heard Ed talking. He jumped to his feet and craned his neck to see over the crowd, but the little redhead was nowhere to be seen.

Furrowing his brow, Ein debated whether to stay where he was or go looking for Ed. After a moment, he shook his head. Your hearing's not as good as it used to be, he told himself. It might not have been Ed. But you know Faye's coming. At least... he hoped she was.

Just then, the sound of someone calling his name drifted over. He turned towards the source and saw a familiar figure in yellow shorts looking around with a rather frustrated air. "Faye!" he barked, and with a happy little Rarf!, he shouldered his way through the crowd to her. "Hi, Faye!" he said when he reached her, his broad grin revealing the small fangs he'd managed to retain. For a brief moment, Ein was confused - Faye seemed different. Then he realized that it was because he was seeing her at eye level for the first time; he was the same height as her now. People looked different when you're about two feet tall.

She recognized him! Ein had been afraid he would have to do some convincing. Though he had to admit, he hadn't been expecting her to... laugh at him. Maybe yell or something. It wasn't very funny to him, so he really didn't understand.

"I look human," he corrected her, somewhat indignantly. "I don't know how it happened... I went through this door, and then I was here." He cocked his head, a very canine gesture. "How did you get here? Have you met any aliens yet?"

Well, Faye didn't really have all the answers like Ein had been hoping. He should have known better than to expect as much, but he couldn't really help it. Maybe Ed would be more help when they found her - though Ein doubted it, as fond as he was of the girl.

He nodded enthusiastically to Faye's remark. "Yeah! I got some food from one a few days ago. She could fly and stuff." After his initial shock, Ein had accepted the idea of aliens quite easily. The evidence was right there, after all.

Suddenly, Ein noticed Faye's jacket. He blinked a few times, then bent down to get a closer look. "Did you get a new jacket, Faye?" he asked. It looked a different color than before. In fact, he wasn't sure he'd seen that color before at all. He didn't even know what it was called.

Ein wasn't insulted; she was right, after all. "Maybe," he replied, straightening. He grinned again, despite himself. Finally, a friendly face! Well, kind of. Friendlier than the alien girl, anyway - and MUCH nicer than the scary silver-haired guy. Ein shuddered a little at the memory.

"Do you have any money?" he asked. "You need money to stay in places." Up to now, Ein had been sleeping outside or in whatever makeshift shelter he could find. Unfortunately, that hadn't been enough for the rainstorm last night. He was still a little wet.

Though Ein didn't yearn for a shower (can't miss something you've never had), he could empathize with Faye. Sleeping outside was unpleasant, and they needed to remedy the situation. Quickly, if possible.

His mouth twisting in a half-frown, Ein tried to order his thoughts logically. There were two options, as far as he could see: search for the others and hope they were faring better than Faye and him, or somehow get money - legally or otherwise - and take care of creature comforts first. He explained his reasoning to Faye. "What do you think we should do?" he asked. Personally, he wanted to look for Ed, but he doubted Faye would want to come along, and he didn't want to get separated from her.

Oh yay! Ein did an odd little dance, hopping from foot to foot (and almost losing his balance in the process). Any slights Faye had made against him in the past were conveniently forgotten for the moment. Right now, she was his favorite person on the planet... whatever planet they were on.

"Okay," he said. "We should stay close to the tracks, I think. They lead to the gates - I saw it on the map." It was nice being able to talk now - he could tell people what to do.

"And Ed!" Ein added. "Don't forget Ed." Though it would be a good idea to find Spike - he always seemed to know what to do - Ein was on only slightly better terms with him than with Faye. Sort of. Ed was probably the sole person who would be glad to see him.

Ein pulled out his own journal and, seeing no seats readily available, plopped down on the ground. He flipped it open and began to poke around the network, searching for a familiar name.

"I'm getting better!" Ein insisted, holding the journal out of Faye's reach. He would have said more, but he leaned too far to one side in an attempt to escape Faye's clutches and fell over. The journal clattered to the ground a few feet away, causing Ein to yelp and make a mad scramble for it before Faye got hold of it.

((ooc: You can go ahead and snatch it. X3))
