Character(s): Fai and any unfortunate soul who happens to run into him.
Content: In which Fai has no idea that landing in Paixao was a terrible mistake.
Setting: Muspelheim gate.
Time: Saturday morning.
Warnings: None.
Despite these rather... "unfortunate" circumstances, Fai saw no reason to be alarmed. By now he had grown accustomed to drifting between worlds and dimensions in the blink of an eye. Syaoran had found another feather of Sakura's memories, and with their work in that world done, it was time to move on to the next. Fai saw no real reason to worry, but what he did notice when he arrived in that new world was that he had arrived alone.
He found himself standing in front of a large, intimidating gate that led into a sort of... dome. Not only that, but there was a line leading up to the gate. At first he thought it was like some sort of twisted amusement park, with people lining up for admission. That, or maybe some kind of prison. People check in, and they never check out. But if this is where Mokona brought him...
"Syaoran...kun?" Fai hesitated before finding himself a spot in line. If this was there they were meant to be, well, the others must be inside. Still, they would've all arrived together, wouldn't they? "Sakura-chan? ... Kuro-rin?" Surely, that would prompt Kurogane to say something - a death threat, most likely - and then they'd beunhappily reunited. "Kuro-wan! Kuro-wan wan! Here boy!!"
A brief pause. If the ninja was nearby, he would've heard him protest just then.
Nope. No sign of Mr. Black.
He couldn't even see Mokona. Was the little guy even there at all? The four of them needed him to find those feathers, but what would happen if they were all separated? It wasn't like this hadn't happened before; he and Kurogane had once arrived in a world half a year before Syaoran and Sakura did, but that didn't mean he liked it. Oh well. The line was moving rather quickly. If anything, he could just go in and take a look around. Hopefully Mokona had stowed away in Kurogane's clothes again and was waiting for the right moment to bite him in the behind.
When Fai finally reached the front of the line, he was greeted by a rather stern looking man holding a clipboard, on which there was a long list of... somethings. The man said something to him, his expression never changing, but the wizard didn't notice. Instead, he rubbed his eyes and looked at the list again. He couldn't understand these markings at all.
... Mokona.
If that little pork bun was there, he'd be able to translate for him. He'd have to find the others as fast as he possibly could, but until then all he could do was stare at the list and all the squiggly lines on it. Fai eventually just settled on mimicking the other symbols, drawing something that looked like a little worm about to eat an apple that just so happened to have a smiley face. And sparkles.

"There you go!" he said happily, and strolled on through the gates. On his way in, he immediately took note of the elaborately painted dome overhead. The sky was fake, but the weather was very real; suddenly, he was thankful to have brought such heavy robes with him. Fai was almost too preoccupied with studying the sky that when a young woman approached him with a silver metallic box, he nearly tripped over her.
"Welcome to Paixao!" she said, bowing at the waist. And Fai, thinking this was just one of the many worlds they had to pass through to find Sakura's feathers, simply accepted the journal and went off on his merry way, in search of the others.
Little did he know how wrong he was.

Instead, he had managed to teleport himself to one of the gates. Well, damn. That wasn't exactly where he'd meant to show up...
Ah, whatever. He was out of the meeting room, and that was all that mattered to him right now.
Xigbar, not entirley liking the weather at the moment, pulled his hood up. Ugh.
"This fuckin' blows."

Strike two: pseudo-whistling. See above.
Strike three: calling him "Eyepatch".
"...Are you looking for a fight?" Xigbar asked, narrowing his one good eye. "'cause where I'm from, it's pretty rude to draw attention to things like this," 'this' being his eyepatch.
"Why the hell are you so perky, anyway?"

"You're an idiot, and I've had a bad day. You sure you wanna be pissing me off, pissant?" Oh, yes. Xigbar was all of seconds away from summoning his favorite weapons and letting this asshat know what he thought.
