Tourist [ Closed ]
Character(s): Yuna and whoever would like to join in!
Content: Yuna enters through Joutenheim and wanders around wide-eyed.
Setting: Inside of Joutenheim.
Time: Afternoonish.
Warnings: Nothing! It's Yuna after all.
It took the ex-summoner nearly all morning to be admitted through the towering gates of this strange, new city. She'd been near the very end of the long admittance line, after all, and the steps that she'd actually managed to take were cautious and shakey. This place was enormous, more grand and impressive than those old visions of Zanarkand she'd been shown so long ago on her pilgrimage. Everything was so strange here, all glass and metal, false yet blindingly beautiful at the same time. Yuna had nearly drawn blood upon attempted to bend down and touch a false flower blooming along the side of the road as she walked further into town.
Paixao... the young woman couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at the vast, domed world that loomed before her, and she glanced at the path behind her as though looking for something familiar back there. Searching for someone or something she knew though there was probably not a chance that she would come upon it... Was this how he had felt when he had come to Spira one year ago? That said, was there perhaps some purpose that Yuna was to fulfil upon being brought so suddenly to Paixao? She had thought that she had fulfiled her role in life upon defeating Sin permanently with her guardians. It seemed as though that was perhaps not the case. Obviously, there was something more in store for her. Yuna would just have to trust that just what that was would soon be revealed to her.
Her black boots clicked along the path and she walked, mis-matched eyes tilting to look up at the painted ceiling above her. It was beautiful, but, like everything else, fake. It still didn't make it any less grand, however, and she was awed. So drawn in was she, that the young woman failed to pay attention to just where she was going. With her head in the clouds, it would be easy to smack right into another newcomer.

Oh, why can't they just listen to me for once in my life?! This is really serious! I have no idea where we are, or what's going on!
For lack of anything else to do, Tamao cast another look around her unfamiliar surroundings. On the other side of the lineup, past a running stretch of rather trampled-looking meadow, another dome rose into the distance like a pale hill or a giant milky bubble. If she let her eyes travel along the construct, she saw it connected to another dome, and another, all the way back around to the dome she was standing in front of. On her right she saw a shimmering line that she was sure was a river, curving away to disappear into the distance behind small hills of green. It was an odd kind of green; Tamao didn't think she'd ever seen grass quite that shade before.
Shaking her head, the young ascetic-in-training eyed the lineup with trepidation. Should she get in the lineup to go inside the domes? She had no idea what was in there, and she certainly didn't belong in this place! It wasn't Tokyo, that was for sure. She didn't even know how she had gotten there, or why Ponchi and Conchi had come with her. Was this something to do with the Heartless? Was this what happened when a world disappeared?!
Yoh-sama!!
No, she had to stay calm! Tamao shook her head. If she wanted to find out what had happened to Yoh-sama and if he was okay, the domes might be the best place to start. Maybe Yoh-sama had gone inside and someone there had seen him!
Tamao looked back up at the gates and sighed to see Ponchi and Conchi still cavorting around the statues. Well, maybe they'd get bored by the time she finally got to the dome. Nervously fidgeting with her oversized sketchpad, Tamao took her place at the end of the line.

Tamao squeaked. She'd been trying so hard to keep track of Ponchi and Conchi as they flitted in and out of the lineup making fun of the people waiting there that she'd nearly run right into the tall blonde man standing watch at the gate. The young girl cringed as the guard/doorman/majordomo leveled her with a blue-eyed stare.
"Ta-Tamamura Tamao," she stuttered, hoping the man wasn't angry with her for holding up the line. She could hear people grumbling behind her.
"Welcome to Paixao." The gatekeeper thrust a metallic blue box at Tamao, who took it hesitantly, puzzled. "This electronic journal is registered to you, and contains a communication system and scaled map of the city."
Tamao nodded shyly and clutched the journal to her chest along with her sketchbook. She could see a spot of bright pink behind the man in the stack of journals waiting to be passed out and glanced at it longingly, but he'd said her journal was already registered, and it looked like she was to move on. Reassured by her spirits' presence as Ponchi and Conchi finally left off to catch up with her and hover by her shoulders again, Tamao walked slowly into the first dome of Paixao.
" . . . It's . . . so beautiful," she breathed, finding herself staring up at the artificial trees and painted moving ceilings, her breath fogging slightly in the chilly air. Even her rowdy partners fell silent for once in their afterlives and gaped around them at the scale and unusualness of their surroundings.
"Ahh-choo!" The pink haired girl was jolted by the force of her surprise sneeze, and as she sniffled she noted that her gray pants and t-shirt weren't really suited to the climate in here. It was weird, it had been just fine outside the domes . . . why make it colder inside than it was outside? It didn't make any sense . . .
"It's like a really fancy nuthouse," Conchi observed grouchily. "Nothing here's normal."
"Looks like we're the only spirits, too," Ponchi tacked on, one finger firmly ensconced up his nose and digging for gold as he stared at the nearby humans.
Tamao nodded absently, noticing now the strange and archaically-dressed people wandering about, all pale in colour and distant in facial feature. In fact, the only people with any variation in appearance seemed to be the people coming through the gate behind her.
A shiver wracked her body, and this time Ponchi and Conchi noticed. She thought she saw a rare flicker of concern in their cynical eyes before Conchi made a rude noise. "Alright, let's see what this dump's got in the way of grub." Tamao gave a small smile as her partners took off a ways ahead of her to scout out the buildings, fingering a yen coin between her fingers in case they decide to report back via kokkuri.
At least she wasn't alone.
