Dirty Little Secret [ One-shot / Complete ]
Character(s): Vincent Valentine
Content: Vincent goes to see Lucrecia but she is nowhere to be found.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate
Time: Saturday, All day
Warnings: None.
Vincent's thoughts ran over the same two words for atleast an hour. Lucrecia Crescent She was there, in Paixao. Vincent had become so happy that his new smile could not falter from his face at all. He kept running his claw through his long hair like a brush, trying to look clean and presentable. His boots were shined and so was his claw. Even his eyes showed a much happier side that was killing Chaos every moment that passed. Only a little but longer, he kept saying out loud in the empty train car, smiling out the window. "Only a little bit longer and I can see her..."
Finally the bell rang and the train stopped at the Vanaheim Gate platform. Quickly rushing off the train, he accidentally pushed a man who was in his way, completely forgetting to apologize. It didn't matter to him though, his face was all smiles as he reached the street in front of the gate, looking around for a lab coat. His eyes and head moved so fast he almost got whiplash.
"She must have taken it off because its warm out," he told himself, believing his own lie even though it was not warm in the least bit. Vincent tried asking around if anyone had seen a woman in a white lab coat or anyone named Lucrecia. With no luck, Vincent's smile almost wavered. However, he told himself that she must have gone into a building because of the rain. Yeah! That's where she had to be. About three hours later and still no sign, Vincent's smile no longer shone on his face. His hair had become dirty from a mud puddle, and his shoes no longer had a glimmer.
Even thought the rain picked up, Vincent sat on a bench, alone, his head down in his hands. "Where are you Lucrecia?" he asked himself, watching as a tear fell from his eye. Wiping his face with his real hand, he tried to hold back his tears, telling himself that something must have happened to her. The Turks must have kidnapped her! Or Hojo did. Or Jenova. Or the Organization! Or, Or...so many possibilities. Then he thought she must have believed the Turks and gone with them willingly.
Lucrecia, the woman he loved most in the world, had gone off with his enemies. He tightened his claw, the metal scratching against itself in a horrible sound. Chaos spoke lies in his eyes, telling him to murder them all, to wallow in their blood. Chaos told Vincent that if he didn't get Lucrecia back she would never love him. Fully believe these things, Vincent finally got to his feet, upholstering both his pistols. With two movements of his thumbs the guns were cocked and his face was that of a killer's. He would kill them all. To save her. With a whip of his cloak he was lost in the night, just another shadow dancing on the rooftops.
