New Arrival [Closed]
Character(s): Olette, anyone who cares to join in.
Content: Olette comes to Paixao, and meets who-knows-what/who/nobody.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate [F3]
Time: Saturday morning
Warnings: None
Funny. Olette had expected dying to hurt a LOT more, especially when it involved falling off of the Station Tower. And yet, she found herself with only a mild stinging sensation on her cheek and hands where they were pressed into the... dirt? There hadn't been any dirt at the bottom of the tower, only concrete.... She opened one clenched green eye carefully, only to find herself staring at the bottom of what looked for be a huge tree. She blinked a few times and carefully pushed herself off of the ground and sat back, inspecting her stinging hands for cuts. Finding nothing but a bunch of dirt, she looked back up at the tree and was surprised to find that there were TWO of them, which stood guard over some kind of gate. She cocked her head slightly and stared at them, transfixed. They were pretty, yes, but something didn't seem right. She stood up, brushing the dirt off of herself, and was again struck with the question 'Am I dead?'
She paused at looked down at her hands. She flexed them, just to make sure they were still in working order. 'Well, I'm not transparent or anything....' She turned her gaze to the large line of people passing under the trees. 'None of them are transparent either. Maybe I'm NOT dead. But how did I survive that? Confused and perplexed, she looked up as if expecting to see the Station Tower still looming above her. No such luck, but she couldn't help but think that she actually felt a little BETTER that she couldn't see the huge building she had been falling off of just moments before.
'But if I'm not dead, then where am I?' Her train of thought was broken off by a shiver. It was freezing cold out there. 'It was September back home.... Must have different time zones or something.' Suddenly something clicked in her head, and she looked up at the sky again. "Hey, it's not twilight!" The moment these words escaped her mouth, she closed it tightly, embarassed slightly. She'd heard about other times of day in school, as a myth, but had never actually experienced them. "Wow...." she said, awed as she looked up at the sky. It reminded her of someone, but she couldn't quite put her finger on who. 'Sora? No, not Sora. But someone like him.' Suddenly her head gave a very violent throb and placed a hand to it, only to find that the pain had disappeared as quickly as it had come.
'Better try not to think about it too much. First order of business: Get in that line! Don't wanna freeze to death.' Feeling slightly better now that she had at least the beginnings of a game-plan, she got into the back of the line and waited patiently. She spent most of the time fidgeting and trying very very hard to keep warm, wishing she had worn a sleeveless shirt and capris. At least she wasn't wearing ankle socks. She played with her bracelet, trying to keep herself occupied and distracted from the freezing cold. For the most part she kept her eyes down and minded her own business, but when she passed by the trees she couldn't help but look up. 'Something IS really wrong with those trees.' Olette fought off the urge to walk closer to them. 'Maybe I'll go check it out later.' As she was looking back down from the trees, she realized something; it seemed most, if not all of the people around here seemed to have blonde hair and blue eyes.
'Hey, just like--' "Ow!" Her head gave another unpleasant throb. 'What was I thinking about again?' She rubbed at her head until she reached the front of the line.
"Name?"
"O-Ol-lette." Her teeth chattered slightly from the cold. "Ol-lette --" she paused, her small mouth hanging open. Why couldn't she remember her own name?!
"Welcome to Paixao." Before she could ask where exactly that was, she was pressed forwards by the people in line behind her, handed some kind of little orange square, and shoved out onto the street. She looked around warily at the buildings and was appeared to be some kind of hotel down the street. She unconciously held onto the little square tightly, as though it were some kind of security blanket, or some kind of defense against this strange world. After walking towards the building that appeared to be a hotel in a kind of daze, a chill wind reminded her that she was freezing and brought her out of her stupor.
'How can it be this cold inside a dome? Whatever, gotta find shelter!' This became the first thing on her unofficial to-do list. She sat down, her back resting against a wall, shielded by a few empty boxes; it was better than nothing, and she didn't exactly like the looks of the alleys. With a rather unhappy sigh, she looked down at the little orange square in her arms as though seeing it for the first time. Noticing the latch, she opened it carefully. So it was some kind of computer. She opened it all the way, and after a bit of fiddling with it managed to find a map. This place was, judging by the map, nothing like she'd ever seen. She shut the little square with a sigh and looked down at it. "Well, at least it's orange." she said aloud, trying to cheer herself up. 'Orange is a happy color. And hey, maybe Hayner and Pence and--.... That... other kid...' The sudden throb of pain wasn't as bad this time, but she felt more than a little guilty that she seemed to be forgetting someone. 'and.... Hey, maybe Sora and Kairi are here too! Maybe if I'm lucky, Donald and Goofy and the King are here!' A hopeful little smile stretched its way onto her face and she opened the little orange square up again. After looking around for a while (and being VERY thankful she'd spent so much time looking over Pence's shoulder when he did stuff like that) she managed to find some kind of message board and left a message there to see if anyone she knew was in Paixao.
She was about to add it when she realized it would probably be wise to get a job as well; she had a nasty hunch that she'd be here a while, and even if they DID accept Munny here, it wouldn't last forever. After typing a little ad and fussing with it until she was satisfied, she posted it and closed the little journal to await a response. She looked up and let her head rest against the wall as she observed the scenery. There were plants here and there, but they seemed just as strange as the trees. Olette stood and walked over to a small flower, trying very hard to ignore the fact that she was shivering from head to toe. She leaned down and looked at the little plant more closely, and was surprised to find that it was certainly not any kind of flower she'd ever seen. She took a little sniff and was surprised to find that the only thing she could smell was the faint orange-y scent of the lotion she always wore. Unnerved, she walked back to her spot next to the boxes and sat down again, curling into a little ball and resting her chin on her knees, wishing it wasn't so cold.

She paused for a moment and tried to calm herself down. She started to pace back and forth. ' Come on, Rikku, get a hold of yourself. ' she told herself while shaking her head with her hands placed on the opposite sides of her head. Then she heard and noticed a slushy sound and looked at the ground, there were puddles and there was snow on the ground. ' So that’s why I’m wet…figured out one thing a couple of more questions to go. ' She just stood there for awhile, and noticed that there was a big gate between two large, fruitless trees. ' Maybe I should go over there, then someone might help me….' She then felt rain drops and snowflakes falling from the sky and looked up, the sky was getting cloudy and dark. ' I better get going.'
She ran to the gate slightly leaning forward with her arms rubbing her arms. To her surprise she saw a line to go through the gate. She quickly got in line and started to rub her arms and legs, trying to keep herself warm. While she was trying to keep herself warm she was looking at the people in front of her and behind her, they all looked somewhat like her, blonde hair and light skinned, but she had green eyes with a spiral as her pupils. The line was moving rather quickly, people behind her would rush her, and tell her to move up. ' Man these people are surely not in a nice mood…Well, it is raining and snowing a little, it’s also really cold. The weather is getting to everybody...' Then a voice broke her trail of thoughts.
“State your name.”
“Excuse Me?”
“Your name, state your name.”
“Rikku.” She answered while she was still trying to keep herself warm.
“Welcome to Paixao." She was then handed a blue rectangular object.
"Next!" said the voice.
“Wait, wait, I have a question……” She trailed off, but couldn’t finish do to the people behind her pushing her.
' Stupid pushy people because of them I couldn’t have my questions answered….But that’s no excuse, I guess I just have to find someone around here…..I wonder if Yuna or anybody else I know is here. I better get going. ' She walked around while looking at the surrounding and saw a little girl, wearing a orange shirt, in the corner and decided to see what was wrong.
“Hey, I’m Rikku. I’m new here, are you alright? What is you name?” She asked crouching down next to the girl, who was curled up in the corner.

"Nice to meet you." Suddenly she realized she should check the message boards. "Um, I don't mean to be rude, but I need to check something real quick. I hope you don't mind." She sent the other girl an apologetic smile and opened her journal. After a few moments of chatting with some guy with a rather profane screen name, she shut the journal again. "Um, hey.... Do you have anywhere to go? Because I need to go somewhere and it'd be nice to get out of the cold...."
Besides, that guy seemed a little rough and I'd like some company."Want to come?"no subject
"Do you mind if I ask, where we are going?" she inquired.

Normally Olette would not have dragged a total stranger with her to a random store, but this was a very unusual situation. She'd always been a mite bit uncomfortable going new places alone, and this girl seemed nice enough. Besides, she was freezing cold, and all she really wanted to do right now was get indoors. In the back of her mind, she wondered who the sick 'young'un' the store owner was talking about was.
(( OOC: Not gonna close it; can have them chat on the way there. :P ))

"It's lonely and scary to go to places where you don't know, where you are at." Rikku said walking next to Olette.
(OOC: Ok. Sorry I don't say much, but I'm not suppose to know where we are going, so I can't pretend to know... ^^;;))
no subject
"Yeah." Olette was silent for a moment as they walked past building after building. "Hey...." She was silent again, biting at her lower lip. "Have you ever forgotten someone really close to you? Because.... I feel like there's someone I'm forgetting, and it really bugs me." She frowned, chewing at the corner of her lip agitatedly.
no subject
"Hey, don't worry about it, it'll come to you, someday, maybe when you least expect it, trust me," She said as she looked at Olette and winked, "Alright?"
((OOC:Ok, TTyl!))
no subject
Well, this stinks."But somehow they just don't look..." she waved a hand, trying to find the right word. "...right. He was just... not... like... them. I don't think his eyes and hair were so pale." 'Ahah! That's a start.'no subject

(( Ohohoho, little does SHE know.... Nyuk nyuk nyuk! ))'Stop being such a downer!' she chastised herself. 'Come on Olette, that's not like you! Rikku's right, you'll find him.'Sooner than you know, hon.They passed under some train tracks, and Olette felt slightly uncomfortable; they were rather rickety. 'Gotta change the subject.... Ah!' "What do you think of Paixao so far?"
no subject
"What do you think of Paixao?" She asked.

"I totally agree, not enough orange, red and other colors!" Rikku eclaimed and started to giggle.

"What about you?" She saked.

"You ok?" Rikku asked as her new companion had showed a sign of pain.
(OOC: I might not be able to post tomorrow because I probably go somewhere during the day. And would you mind if a friend joins us...? She's going to apply as Tifa.)

"Yeah, I'm fine. What was I saying again?" She frowned slightly, trying to remember. "Oh yeah! I was telling you about the Struggle Tournament. Every year my friend Hayner signs up. Basically you just kind of smack each other around and try and collect these orb things. The person with the most orbs wins. Y'know, I always thought it'd be fun to try it too, but I Hayner didn't think I was cut out for it. Pfft.... He's gotta be all macho all the time, y'know?" She giggled and continued walking. "Boys. I'll never get why they have to be all tough all the time." She smiled faintly as various memories came to the forefront of her mind.
no subject
"They just have to be the hero, be all macho and tough, and "cool"." She said while shaking her head.

no subject
"You're a really good friend, seriously without you, they would be everywhere." Rikku said.
no subject
"I wonder if it'll stop raining any time soon." She said suddenly. Indeed, her clothes were getting rather uncomfortably damp in the drizzle and light snowfall. "Hold on, I'll check how close we are."
She flipped the electronic journal open and took a look at the map she'd left it at. Just as they passed under the train tracks for the second time that day she shut it again. "Three and a half miles to go. Sorry to drag you so far in the rain. I'm really glad you decided to come along. I kinda didn't want to go somewhere new alone...." She stared at the journal thoughtfully for a moment before attempting to put in one of her lage pockets. It fit, but only barely; it stretched the pocket out a bit and was somewhat conspicuous. Her fingers, free to fidget now, intertwined in that usual way of hers.
no subject
"Yeah, when you get back they'll be a mess and maybe they'll beg for you to come back." Rikku said giggling she was having a lot of fun.
"Come on we can do it, it's good excercise not that you.." She winked.

ifwhen I see Hayner and Pence again I'll challenge them to a race and totally smoke them!" she joked. "And then we'll see what Hayner has to say about teaching me to fight." She grinned at the thought. Having someone to talk to worked wonderfully to distract her from the fact that she was trapped in some strange world.Down the street, Olette could see a sign that named an interesting looking little pawn shop 'The Glass Bonsai'. "That place looks cute! Might have to come shop around here later." Ah, shopping. One of the many joys of life.
no subject
"Ooh~ that stuff does look cute..." Rikku said peering through the shop's window.
"We should go shopping sometime after this," She said looking at Olette, "It'll be soo much fun, and we can do with all the other friends of ours."
no subject
I wish Hayner and Pence were here though....' "I wonder if the shop we're going to will have anything interesting. I hope so!"(( OOC: Ahh, girls being girls. :P ))no subject
"We're going to a shop?! COOL~! Which shop would that be?" She looked at Olette with and excited and questioning look.

"I thought of worse plans than that...Trust me." Rikku giggled embarrassingly.

Olette chuckled again, though this time not out of embarassment. Suddenly she remembered something. "Oh yeah! The owner told me one of the 'young'uns' was sick. Poor thing. Wonder who he was talking about...."
Ohohohohohohoho.....no subject

"Now, let's go help that poor sick friend of yours, and maybe I can be friends with him too." She said with confidence and energy flowing of the spoken words, as a power boost.
(OOC: Does that make sense? Tomorrow, I'm not going to be home from around 2:00-8:00 Pacific timing....Sorry, I wouldn't go if I had a choice, but I HAVE too. T0T)
no subject
Olette grinned. "Yeah! Olette and Rikku to the rescue! Besides, I have a feeling that the owner probably doesn't have any girls around to take of the sick kid. Poor thing'll probably just get worse with only guys to take care of him." Her grin widened at this little joke. "Like you said before, never let a man do a woman's job."
no subject
"If we take too long sooner or later he'll become girl deprieved!" Rikku exclaimed and added on to the moment they were having.
"Here we go, Olette and Rikku to the rescue~! Rikku said throwing a fist in the air.
"Now let's go and rescue a poor boy before he become deprieved of girls.." Rikku said as she was still giggling.
((OOC: Getting tutored from 2-8 is fun...? T0T))
no subject
Olette giggled as well. Her first impression had been right; this girl was certainly very likeable. "Onwards!" She walked a little faster and tugged her journal out of her pocket to take a look at the map. "We're about halfway there." 'Good. It's really cold out here....'
no subject
"Don't give up yet, we are coming~! YEAH!" Rikku said was she through her fist in the air, yet again.
"Man, is it just me or is it getting colder by the minute...." She said as she brought her hand down, and rubbed it against her arms and feet while they were walking.

Olette was silent for a little while, focusing on walking as fast as possible. It was so cold. Before, she'd been able to keep talking to distract herself from the cold, but now she couldn't think of anything else to talk about. Her mind, left to wandering aimlessly, trailed back to the boy she remembered and yet didn't remember.
He was blonde and had blue eyes, that much she knew for certain. She had a mental picture, but it was extremely fuzzy. She poked about in her memories, trying to add some detail. 'Hm.... His hair was a bit spiky. Kind of stuck up, almost like Sora's, but not really.... Ah! That's what it was like!' She was trying to ignore the mild pain in her head that had developed. At least it wasn't an excruciating throb this time. 'And.... What else?' She racked her brains, looking for answers. Suddenly she snapped her finger and reached into her pocket; not the one with the journal in it, the other one.
She pulled out what appeared to be a hand-made Munny bag and was about to open it when she paused, her walking slowing down ever-so-slightly. 'Wait.... Wasn't this stolen? No, if it was stolen, then how do I have it?' She stared at the little bag for a few moments as she walked, frowning. "Ah!"
~~~
"Four students!"
"R____, the money."
"Wait-"
~~~
Olette's eyes widened. So that was what his voice sounded like. She wished desperately that she'd looked over at him; all she could remember was hearing his voice whilst looking at the ticket lady behind the counter at the Station.
~~~
"No!"
"Huh?"
~~~
That oh so familiar throb pulsed through her head again, forcing the memory away. "Getting closer...." she muttered to herself.

She was very very pleased to discover that Goofy was in Paixao, and although she was a bit discouraged that he didn't remember her, it wasn't exactly unexpected. She was equally pleased that Sora decided to drop in, and even more pleased that he seemed to remember her, if only barely. Just as she was closing the journal again, someone ran past her at full speed, almost smacking into her. She barely managed to catch the journal before it hit the ground. "What was that all abou-...?!" More people ran by, apparently terrified of something. They didn't seem to notice Rikku or Olette, barely bothering to go around them.
It was then that she heard a terrifying scream split the air and she gasped. That certainly didn't sound good.... Normally she would have turned right around and gone the other way, but there was nowhere else she could think of to go. Besides, that shop owner might need help. Her expression changed to a very determined frown. "I'm gonna go check that out." Without waiting for a reaction, she ran forwards, stuffing the journal back into her pocket. If she had been thinking as rationally as she usually did, her mind would have been screaming at her to turn around. Yet, she had this strange urge to investigate.

She didn't know where she was going, but she didn't want to be alone and wanted to make sure her friend was safe, especially since she can't fight.
