Not quite breakfast, not quite lunch [Completed]
Characters: Auron, Asuka, B. Jenet, The Prince
Content: The group gets together and... talks about stuff?
Setting: Vanaheim's Actua Are
Time: Friday, late morning
Warnings: None so far
Jenet had overslept more than she would've liked to, but it was alright. She hated mornings anyways. Well, it was still morning here, but it was late enough that it wasn't really bothering her. After taking a quick shower and freshening herself up a bit, she down to the hotel's lobby. She didn't see any of her new friends around though and decided to have something to eat. Pancakes, sausage, eggs and some orange juice... That was her order and it arrived quickly enough. "Good to know that the food here is still something I recognize and not some weird foreign crap." she said to herself before eating her meal, which tasted surprisingly good.
"Wow... It's a lot better than the stuff my crew makes." Jenet stared at her plate, which by now was half cleared. "Maybe I should ask the cooks here to give me some of their recipes. They'll make good souveneirs for when I find a way to go back."
As she drank her juice, Jenet's thoughts went back to last night's fiasco with the Prince and how she'd agreed to give him a "talk" to him later in the day. "Hah, me teaching a kid all about boys and girls. The guys back home will never believe this."
[OOC: Asuka-mun, I didn't mention anything about her being in the room or not when Jenet woke up. Let me know if I should change this and I'll gladly do so.]

"Damn those Angels!" then suddenly remembering the events the past night, she quickly turns to her right to look for Jenet, only to find a messy bed. Rolling over to her right side to get off the bed, she stretches her arms and legs and wonders if she should take a shower. If she takes a shower, then she would have to go downstairs with no bandage, but if she doesn't take a shower...
She sniffs herself and concluding that she doesn't smell so bad, she goes down to the hotel lobby, hoping that Jenet and the others are there also. The journey is certainly not pleasant with all the people staring and children pointing at her. She couldn't look that terrible right? But then again, she did not take the time to check her appearance. While she is very disturbed by their actions, she tries to seem as if she does not care.
But once she reaches the lobby, she quickly strides over to the restaurant as the wafting smell of food triggered the roaring in her stomach. Then spotting the blonde lady in purple dress that is Jenet, she strides over and plops herself down right across of Jenet with a very visibly pout on her face, "why are people staring at me??"
[ooc: it's okay, Jenet probably thinks she should let Asuka sleep and stuff, so she won't wake her up ;)]
The Prince is being discreet! (Except totally not)
He ran down the stairs, making a beeline for the restaurant. That was the important thing he had to do! The Prince had to eat! It all made sense now. He first spotted Asuka, and started to run over to where she was sitting, before he noticed Jenet. He stopped, remembering the night before. While Jenet did not look angry over the incident at that moment, The Prince knew that he had ended the evening on a bad note, if Jenet's shoe was any indication. The Prince eyed her shoes from where he stood. Well, he certainly didn't want another one of those things flying at him.
He backtracked to the front of the restaurant as quickly as he possibly could. In an act of desperation he dived behind a faux plant to hide. The thought hadn't occurred to him to leave the area or go back to his room... well, the hiding was probably about the best his panic-stricken mind could come up with at that moment.

"Why are people staring at me??" said Asuka as she sat down with her.
"Isn't it obvious? It's because you stand out like a sore thumb! The only redhead in the room, those bandages you're covered in, and that funky suit of yours..." Clearing her throat a bit, she refrained from making any bad comments on Asuka's outfit, mainly because she didn't wanting to upset the feisty little german. That, and it was still too early for people to be getting to be getting all angry and pissy. But there was one thing she just had to say...
"You know, as your 'big sister' I feel it's my duty to get you into something less conspicuous, for all our sakes. Or maybe dye your hair blond. That way you'll only get the good kind of stare, if you know what I mean." Jenet ran a hand through her long, blonde hair, knowing full well that she too was being stared at by most of the men in the room. But unlike Asuka, she wasn't bothered by it and was rather enjoying the attention.
"Anyways, I didn't think you'd be up by now. You looked really out of it, sleeping like a little babe." Jenet was grateful that Asuka was such a deep sleeper, not to mentioned relieved. After all, it was one less person to explain last night's mishap to. "You must've had some pretty nice dreams, eh?" she said to Asuka with a small grin on her face as she went back to finish the rest of the pancakes.
[OOC: Mind if I say that Asuka was snoring or talking in her sleep (possibly about Shinji or the Angels) in my next post?]

"Although I suppose I should not be too generous to the men here by showing them off all the time, so I will agree to changing my outfit," her smile turns smug and her anger forgotten already. Truly, she does not have that much curves yet to be showing them off. Her smile drops as Jenet mentions her 'pretty nice dreams' however, as she does realize that she talks in her sleep. Turning into cranky defensive mode yet again, she glowers at Jenet, "What did you hear me say?"
[ooc: Sure sure! Asuka is probably crying like a baby because she missed her mom and Shinji... or she is imagining a date with Shinji
she likes Shinji but won't ever admit it sshh!!]A post in which Sir Auron gets Horribly Emo. Oh dear.
But none of that could even begin to happen, Jecht was dead and gone, so was Braska. And here he was, in another world. It was quite possible that he wasn't the only Spiran here, he thought he'd recognized Tidus on the journal network, but in this place he couldn't be absolutely sure. Even with the strange little group he was now traveling with, he still felt helplessly alone. Sure, on Spira he was always considered to be a one-man-army of sorts and always given a wide berth because he seemed so stand-offish, but it was a rare moment in his life that he was ever alone. From the other monks in Bevelle to Jecht and Braska down to Yuna and her other Guardians - Auron was always surrounded by people. People he could understand, people he had a common bond with. Now in this new world lacking Sin and Yevon and all wrapped up in its manufactured peace, Auron couldn't help but feel like a boat adrift at sea, caught in unfamliliar waters.
Yet he'd been cast away before, thrust into strange territory. From his rather abrupt leavetaking of the temple at Bevelle, to even death casting him aside at Mount Gagazet, Auron was well versed in being ... discarded. And when he felt his most worthless, turned away from those immaculate red doors of Bevelle or from the glorious gate to the Farplane, something had always come along and given him a new purpose. This time around was it the Prince? Asuka? Jenet - who he knew could handle herself but just smelled of trouble; were they brought into his life to give him an anchor point? Perhaps.
When the sun finally pestered him enough into opening his eye, Auron awoke, far later than he normally did - even the Prince was awake before he. Washing and dressing with his usual measure of composure, Auron slung the Shiranui over his back, noting that the girls' room was already empty. Wonderful - he already knew the feisty blonde would have a dig at him for sleeping in so late.
He found himself watching with a hidden but bemused smile at Asuka's temper at such an hour, coming up behind her as he joined them in the hotel's dining area. "You seem to have rested well, hm?" Setting his heavy cask of sake on the table (as he had a mind to have a few shots with whatever breakfast this world provided him), Auron immediately noticed their missing member. How could he not, when the child had enough energy for a fleet of Chocobos and the steam to power an Al Bhed machina?
"...where is the Prince?"

Maybe being her 'big sister' wasn't such a far-fetched idea after all.
"Good girl, that's just what I wanted to hear. Leave it to me, I'll use my amazing fashion sense to pick out the best outfit for you! And about those dreams..."
Her grin got even wider as she stared at the german girl. "Let's just say that someone's missing her boyfriend. Remind me to ask you who 'Shinji' is later." It wasn't long before the two women were joined by Auron, the oldest male in their little group.
"Hey there old man, looks like you enjoyed your sleep too huh?" she said to Auron, waving at him. "The kid? Who knows."
Knowing him, he's probably asleep on a toilet somewhere... she mumbled to herself.
"Maybe one of us should go look for him or something. It'd be a real pain in the arse if he was lost somewhere."

He scrambled about, trying to fight his way out of the horrible, Prince-eating plant. But there was another problem. He was stuck. The leaves snagged his clothes and held him fast. The plant really did intend to eat him!
He cried out and thrashed all the more, but it was no use. The plant would not let him go. Oh, it was really going to eat him! And all The Prince wanted was a hiding place. Well, he sure knew not to hide in a plant again. That is, if there was an 'again' ...

Asuka's attention was turned back to the man when he mentioned the absence of the tiny prince. She stops glaring at Jenet and the color drains away from her face so drastically she might have been a chameleon. Apparently, Asuka has grown to be very fond of the miniature companion of theirs. She was just going to shout back at Jenet about how The Prince will never be a pain in the arse; lost or not, when a muffled scream is heard from somewhere across the lobby.
Noticing a purple leg kicking about from a fake plant placed across the lobby, Asuka could not help but fall into a heap of laughter back onto her chair. After awhile, she manages to control her laughter and points to the plant from where she saw The Prince's leg, "There's the Prince!"

"... well don't all jump up at once." Grumbling as he left behind the earthenware jug of alcohol on the table to cross the room, Auron paused for a moment to find an opening in the Prince's thrashing. He wasn't about to be kicked in return for his rescue efforts. Spying a moment, he took it, gloved hand shooting out and locking firmly around the Prince's kicking leg. Hauling the Prince out of the plant like he was pulling out an errant weed, Auron dangled the upended boy in midair, holding him firmly by the ankle.
Brow raised and smirk firmly in place on his lips, Auron looked down at the upside-down face of the Prince over the rim of his sunglasses. "The bathrooms are down the hall, young sir - no need to abuse the houseplants."

"So... if he's not your boyfriend, who is he then? He must've been someone important for you keep muttering his name like that." "You also kept mentioning the word 'Angel'. Mind explaining that to me too? You don't really seem the religious type."
no subject
But... nothing happened. He ventured a peek from between his fingers. His face immediately brightened at the sight.
"Mr. Auron!" he cried with joy, "You have saved The Prince from the horrible Prince-eating plant. Oh, thank you, thank you!" He would have hugged the man had he not been dangling in the air. Instead, The Prince just smiled. Ahh, safe at last!
"The Prince wasn't looking for a bathroom, he was hiding," he said matter-of-factly in response to Auron's comment. Wow, the world sure looked different from this perspective. "Look, the floor is on the ceiling!" he said finally, pointing downward.

And with a whirl of red hair and bandages, Asuka storms away from the restaurant and runs straight to the elevator.

"Waiter!" she suddenly called out, sticking an arm in the air and waving it, prompting one of the male restaurant employees to come to her table.
"Yes madam?" he asked.
"I'm done here, you can clear out the table whenever you'd like."
"Right away."
"And those two over there? The old man in red holding the little blonde kid?" Jenet pointed at Auron and The Prince. "Make sure you take their orders when they're done expressing their love for each other. Oh, they'll pick up the the tab too."
The employee merely nodded as he went back to the kitchen with Jenet's empty plate of food. Her business in the restaurant done, she got up from her chair and stretched her arms. "I think a little fresh air will do me some good." She walked through the restaurant and tables, but not before making a stop at where Auron was. "The table's all yours mate. Oh, see if you can hold the lad like that long enough for the blood to make him smarter." Patting Auron on the shoulder, Jenet grinned at him before exiting the restaurant, and Actua Are completely.
[OOC: This'll be her exit from the scene.]

Tugging the arm from his jacket, Auron quite calmly straightened the Prince's position, setting him firmly on his own two feet. He left the comment about 'Prince-eating-plants' alone entirely. Instetad, he focused on the sour grumble in his stomach that reminded him that he'd slept through one meal and was about to miss another.
"It seems as if it's the two of us for lunch then, Prince." With his left hand he withdrew his gil, the hollow-centered coins strung handily on a thick bit of knotted twine. Bouncing it in the flat of his palm for a moment, Auron turned partially to look at the now-empty table where his sake jug sat. "How about us men getting something to eat before doing a little exploring, hm?"

The Prince's face lit up at the idea of food. "Oh, The Prince wants pancakes! No, spaghetti! No, sausage! No..." The Prince continued to debate his order as he ran over to the table. He jumped onto one of the chairs, nearly tipping the entire thing over.
Then he remembered that Auron had not just been talking about food. He had also been talking about exploring! "Exploring? You mean like a safari?" Oh, how exciting! "But... what are we exploring?"
[ ooc: Do you want to make a new thread for when they go on their little "safari?" ]

Sitting with an amazing amount of patience at the table, Auron drug the cask towards him. Now on 'babysitting duty', he wasn't about to imbibe. But given the Prince's exaggerated movements he was apt to knock the thing over. Considering that Auron was very likely to drink within the near future, he wasn't about to take a risk on his precious alcohol.
"Yes, like a safari." he nodded with a small chuckle. "Where? Well, if you haven't noticed, Prince, we've all been brought into a new world. I'd like to have another look around. But first, food." The waiter came, Auron not even giving him time to get out the usual schtick when he delivered his order.

The Prince had never been very patient, and waiting for food became too long for him to bear. He shuffled around in his seat. He adjusted and readjusted his hat. And just when he thought he couldn’t take it anymore, he saw the fork, the knife, and the spoon sitting on the table. Soon enough The Prince had begun to wage a war between the knife and the fork, with the spoon on the side trying to negotiate a peace treaty. Obviously, neither the knife nor the fork listened.
When the food came The Prince devoured everything on his plate without even pausing to see what it was. Satisfied, he turned his gaze back to Auron. “Are we going to go exploring now? The Prince wants to find... hidden treasures! Yes, and new, amazing places! Oh, it will be so much fun!” He jumped out of his chair and ran around the table a few times, calling out, “Adventure, adventure, adventure!”
The Prince began to run from the restaurant. He couldn't wait to begin!
