He still couldn't believe his father had left him locked in the dungeon. He'd been here at least an hour he thought, but he wasn't really sure. It was impossible to tell the passage of time way down here. With only a few torches, the dungeon was dark, no outside light reaching it.

Laharl sat huddled in a corner at the front of the cell, looking horribly unhappy, for numerous reasons. The first was, of course, the whole reason he was down here in the first place. The whole incident replayed in his head, over and over. There wasn't really anything he could have done differently... except perhaps NOT letting on to others what he was considering. As for his dad... he wasn't really sure how to feel about his father's actions. Not to say he wasn't angry about the whole thing--he was, but... Laharl couldn't forget the apologetic and regretful look on his father's face. He hadn't really wanted to do this. His... father was trying to protect him? The whole thing was hard to digest.

The second was, despite his father having loosened his scarf so he could get eventually free, after struggling and rolling around trying to do so, he'd only managed to do the complete opposite. Frustrated and exhausted, he'd finally just given up for the time being, and huddled up where he now was.

The third thing was just simply being stuck down here alone. Sometimes he valued his alone time, but he wasn't enjoying it right now in the least. And especially not when being down here was stirring up memories of when the Organization had captured him. That was definitely not something he needed to be reminded of now.

With still no intentions of backing down, Laharl had no idea how long he'd end up stuck down here. It certainly seemed like it could be awhile, much to his chargin, as he wasn't sure how he'd even get through a night of this, much less days or longer.

Priere's hands found their way on her hips; seriously, this kid...

"You're not really helping your case you know," she finally sighed. Truthfully, he didn't really look like he was about to go and cause the end of the world or anything, but you never knew with demons... and she knew this from experience.

"But... I'm surprised demons care about promises."

"Don't "whatever" me," she snapped back, folding her arms. While it was true that the current situation was moot, it didn't solve the actual problem. "What about the next time, huh? Are you gonna end up tied up in your scarf every time someone you like goes missing?" She scolded him, momentarily forgetting that he was supposed to be her new boss.

She stared at him for a few moments. "Look, I get it that the demons here aren't the same as back home. You're not about to go blow up the world and I'm pretty sure everyone understands that, but you don't want the rest of the people here trying to tie you up again just because, right?"

"Yeah, and look where that got you," she replied, surprisingly not raising her tone. She wasn't at all impressed with Laharl's little anger spike; honestly, it only served to remind her that he was truly a little kid. "Did you even manage to get out of your front door?"

"Who said anything about regret? I mean yeah, that was pretty stupid of you, and it got you nowhere, but... I guess it was for a good reason. You think you're the first person to pull some crazy stunt just to get someone back?" She finally said, suddenly remembering that she really wasn't the best person to chastise someone on stupid rescue mission plans.

"If you're gonna regret something, regret that you didn't come up with a better plan and that's it. I mean seriously... cut that out. You really think this is the time to get all mopey about this?"

"Eh?" Whatever Priere had in mind for Laharl quickly faded at the sudden change in demeanor. Okay, that had been unexpected. She knew that she tended to open her big mouth at the wrong times, but it didn't seem like what she said was so bad... right?

"Err... h-hey? What... what is it?" Oh crap, what the hell did she screw up this time?

She really screwed up this time hasn't she? Argh, she was so stupid! But then again, how the hell could she have known? It's not like the kid had "I have problems" stamped on his forehead!

Urgh... she messed up.

She remained quiet for a good minute, not making a move until she finally stepped up closer to the cell, ignoring Laharl's orders. "... sorry," she finally muttered, having all the trouble in the world to choke out something that simple. Apologies weren't her forte after all.
