if we changed it back again -- things would never be the same. ( active / closed )

Character(s): Axel & Xigbar
Content: Mishmash world gives mishmashed feelings. Wait, feelings? Uh...
Setting: Newest floor
Time: Current week
Warnings: IDEK... LET'S FIND OUT.

What was with this place? Walking towards a large heap of rubble, one that looked oddly like several building melted together -- Axel found himself staring up at a familiar sight... though it wasn't a particularly comforting one. At the top of the pile, stood a clock tower. Yeah -- that clock tower. The one that should have been in Twilight Town. The one he'd spent many afternoons hanging out on top of, from a much more carefree time.

Everything... had just gotten so complicated since then. It was just like this world. There were things where they shouldn't be -- stuff that didn't belong all coming together -- and even more things that were missing. "Tch," he scoffed, disappointed in his own thoughts that were betraying him. Things would never be the same again. No matter how much he wanted them to be...

Unfortunately for Axel, it was an unwelcome voice that greeted him. “So, this is where you’ve been, huh?” From a corridor of Darkness Xigbar stepped out and moved to the Nobodies side. He showed little regard for personal space, resting his elbow on the redheads shoulder as he followed his gaze to the warped clock tower. “Well, would you look at that...” The sharpshooter remarked, having recognized the very same eyesore as his comrade. “I heard this world was messed but seeing it for myself, it’s almost… unsettling.”

Turning his glance to Axel, Xigbar shared an almost mocking smile. “Wouldn’t you agree, Axel?”

Xigbar made no move to follow the Nobody. Instead he merely crossed his arms and watched as Axel walked away. Surely that wasn’t all he had to say. Missing members, collapsed cities, they concerned the Organization and its members, including the very world that they were in. True, the Flurry of Dancing Flames rarely showed much interest in their conflicts but regardless how distant Axel could be, for him to say nothing simply did not seem right. Something was off.

The Nobody watched his colleague closely. Nothing seemed irregular from his words but rather his actions. Xigbar had been brushed off before but this particular time seemed different. Either he had been in a hurry to get somewhere or looking for someone he did not want Xigbar to know about. He was willing to wager that he knew who…

Finally, he spoke up. Axel having only walked a few steps away. “Guess you’ve heard ‘bout Roxas then, huh? Tch, as if. I come all this way and it’s for nothing.”

A smile played around the corners of his mouth. “Oh, I already know where he is.”

Xigbar shrugged his shoulders and gave a sigh. The casual approach seemed his best option. “Yup, saw him over in the Elysian Fields.” He explained, sounding as though bored by the news. “Finally we can get back to the real juice in this burg.” Xigbar crossed his arms over his chest and shook his head. “This search was a waste of time if you ask me. I bet the kid’s still there, tryin’ to play with a Lumen or somethin’.”

“Sure looked like him to me.” The boy did indeed look like Roxas but in truth Roxas really looked like him. It was so backwards that it almost seemed forward but what else did one expect from an old coot?

“I’d know that look anywhere...” Xigbar said and looked around at the misshaped world before he laid eyes on Axel. “Talk about a waste of time. If you ask me, Xemnas should have sent that mutt out instead.” But Axel didn’t ask and the Nobodies gripes were quite contrary to how he felt. If anything, Xigbar had gained more than he had planned from their exchange. There was but one thing left that he had yet to receive but in time it too would be his.

He summed a corridor of Darkness behind him. “Well, there’s gotta be damage I can do somewhere.”
