She can't save the world....
Character(s): Colette Brunel, open.
Content: Colette reflects on the past couple of weeks.
Setting: Somewhere outside the Jountenheim Gate
Time: Week 43, night!
Warnings: Angst
Colette sat on a rock, glancing back at the ruined city. It had been a long couple of weeks and now she had been sacked from her job at the cafe and kicked out of her hotel.
Not that Colette blamed them. Sure, she was responsible for the dome collapsing but she still felt some responsibility for not being able to help everyone. They probably had the right to hate her just now. Just what good was she being the Chosen of Mana if she could not help these people?! Being the Chosen meant saving the world, right?
But she had failed to save Sylvarant back then.
But Lloyd is finding a way for us to save Sylvarant without me having to die for it, she said in her thought to console herself. And when Zelos was here, he told me that he was from a further point in time and that Sylvarant was safe! So I don't have to worry.....right?
Colette glanced around. It was getting late and she had to find somewhere to rest, soon. Perhaps sleeping on the grass would not be such a bad idea? She had slept several times outside when she started her Journey of Regeneration. She could manage it again. Besides, it would be unkind to ask people if she asked for shelter! Maybe she could build herself a fire?

She'd slipped away this evening, unable to sleep, but she was distracted from her winding train of thought when she noticed a girl, looking so sad and all alone. She couldn't just leave her there, so she approached. "What is the matter?"
no subject
In response to the question why she was sad, Colette just lit up. "Oh me? Nothing. I'm fine. Heheheh." And, trying to change the subject, she added, "I don't think we've met before. My name's Colette! What's yours?" Sorry, Yorda. You're not going to get her to talk about her problems that easily.

Truthfully, the princess had no idea as to what she and Mao would do now that the city she had grown to love no longer accepted outsiders. But it seemed the only thing she could do was press forward.
Agh. Sorry about this!
It was not that Colette had difficulty talking about her problems. She just felt that it would be selfish of her to tell Yorda and make her worry. That was just how the Chosen worked.
That's okay, I sort of died, too. XD;
"I am from the island," came the answer after a few moments of shy and somewhat awkward silence, the princess blinking curiously at the other girl. There had never been a name for the island, as far as she knew, but it was ancient and isolated, and now it was gone, with no sign that it had ever been there to begin with.
