Your Super Vyers Has Returned to the Castle [completed]
Character(s): Krichevskoy
Content: Mama didn't need to worry after all.
Setting: The Overlord Residence
Time: Nighttime, week 41
Warnings: Showoffiness
In all honesty, Krichevskoy was excited. None of them had seen him when he looked like this in the past, and the people of this city had likely forgotten the power he once held, if they even knew at all. He was more than happy to educate them. ...And perhaps even happier to have a family to return to.
Important as he felt his mission was, he still thought back to his time in the city every now and then. A part of him had begun to think it had all been a dream after years had passed, but he couldn't fully allow himself to believe it was. Even if none of them remembered, he still held every event deep in his heart.
Krichevskoy couldn't hold back a grin as he approached the familiar building, waves of familiarity and memories flooding over him. It was like coming home again, wasn't it? He stared up at the window he was sure had been to his and Gwen's room, and debated how to best make his entrance.

Chin in her hand, she paced to the window and looked out, not quite expecting to see him standing there already and - wait -
He -
"Oh dear," she said to herself. There was no question that he looked much closer to Krichevskoy now, but did he just have a change in fashion while he was gone, or did he really...?
Forget thinking too much, Gwen left her spot by the window and ran down to greet him, but stopping once she got to ground level, taking in his appearance at a closer view, charmed.
(But this is what happens when you don't tell her how long you've been gone, Vyers, you don't get an immediate hug because she doesn't realize you probably need it from not having one in so long.)

He crossed the distance between them, reached for a rose, and offered it to her with a wink. "Perhaps a gift will help you forgive my sudden absence?"
no subject
She took his rose and spun it between three fingers. "I suppose," she agreed, playfully. "You weren't gone that long, anyway."

Yeah.
Okay.
Fine.
"Good to know, although here I thought you had been working."

S-She didn't mean to, really! Never! She was just a little caught up, that's all.

"Are the books where I left them?"
no subject
"They are."
Pause.
"You still haven't told me how long it's been for you." Yeah, she's not letting that go.

Gwen's got nothing to say to that. She tried, more than once, but nothing quite comes out.

Did he know Vyers. Did he know of this place... of everything... Could this world change anything? Or was this just a limbo for them all, not just Gwen and her stopped time?
She almost doesn't want to hear an answer.
"You're not that far behind, not really."

It wasn't as though her husband was always the... luckiest demon around. Or perhaps Laharl simply didn't think he knew, so he kept it quiet. Something like that.
"I'm glad you're back, Vyers. I know it was a long time for you but... I'm glad it wasn't for us."
no subject
With other people, perhaps... but not her.

Her answer probably isn't what he was hoping for, but it was the best she could do. "I'll try," she said. "It'll probably take awhile." She learned to say Vyers for him,
so he better be happyso it's really his fault. "Krichevskoy," she tested the name. It had been awhile.no subject

She patted him on the shoulder.
"It just needs time to sink in."

What the punishment for breaking that mandate would be he wasn't sure yet, but it would certainly be severe.
"If you say so..."
no subject
"I do," she made it sound confident, but, well. While Gwen would work on it, she couldn't say much for anyone else... "We could make you a nametag. 'Hello my name is Krichevskoy, not Vyers.' It might help... remind people."
Or they might just call him Mid-Boss.no subject
Krichevskoy sighed. "I will just keep reminding them." At least he didn't have to worry as much about Laharl. ...Maybe.
no subject
"Hey now, none of that." She bounced a little and wrapped her arms around his neck. What's dignity worth, anyway? "I will keep reminding people, too, when I don't need reminding myself." She leaned her head close, noses almost brushing. She smiled and said his name again, low and sweet.
