Oh look, a map... [ Closed ]
Character(s): Hakkai.
Content: Still looking for his friends (A.K.A. getting himself even more lost.)
Setting: Close to Folios.
Time: Late morning/noon (follows this thread.)
Warnings: None.
Hakkai woke early the next morning, ready to keep searching for the others. Much to his surprise, he felt awake and refreshed. Granted, it was all thanks to that nameless woman who'd put him up for the night... hm. He still hadn't paid her back. Idly, he wondered if he'd ever run into her (or the fluffball she carried), but he had no time to sit around and wait for her. She was probably already gone.
Before heading out (but after getting dressed and straightening himself out so he didn't look like a walking corpse), he sat down and opened the journal he was given when he first passed through the gates. Come to think about it, he didn't even know much about the journals, either. All these unanswered questions were starting to pile up, and it was as annoying as it was confusing.
Other people can read my entries, he thought to himself, staring blankly at the screen. And I can read theirs. But, then... Then, if the others were here, and they did have journals, wouldn't they have noticed by now? No... there was no telling who was who out there. Only a few people's entries were signed. Should he sign his? Well, it was certainly worth a shot. Next time he updated, he would do that.
As he started to close the journal, he noticed a little button in the corner. Like any curious child would, he had this sudden urge to press it, just because it was there. It wasn't going to self-destroy his journal or anything, would it? That sort of thing only happened in stories. Even if it did, it wasn't like it would be missed; he couldn't possibly be any more lost than he was now. Well... here goes, he thought, cautiously pushing the button.
He waited a few seconds. No explosion. No self-destruction. Instead, a colorful picture popped up on the screen. No... not just a colorful picture. A map.
Hakkai's eyes widened rather comically at the sight of it. I've had this with me all this time, and I hadn't even noticed it until...
Whereas his companions might have reacted violently to the news, or kicked something (or in Sanzo's case, shot something) in their anger, Hakkai just hung his head and sighed, forcing a smile on his face despite the fact there was no one around to see it. This would've made things so much easier...
Paixao. The city was called Paixao. He had entered through Joutenheim and spent most of yesterday making his way to the Actua Are hotel. The others weren't at his gate, but that meant there were three other gates to check. It wasn't doing him any good just sitting around, was it? With his journal/map in his hands, he set off to continue searching.
It was almost noon when he checked the map again. He hadn't made too much progress; if the map was right, he should be coming across a place called Folios, which meant he'd probably hit Muspelheim in a few days. If only he knew his friends had entered through the other gates, his search would be much easier...
