Cogsworth was right. It was certainly a rare thing, especially for Lumiere to admit, but what was even more exceptional was the fact that they actually agreed on something. They had spent some time inside the stuffy little apartment. And though the two servants were used to capitation of sorts, having several years without so much as leaving the castle (aside from the garden), that had been different. There had always been plenty to do within its walls. And after having maintained an entire castle, to do the same to a simple apartment was… Well, boring! There was no challenge to the job and considered nothing more than child’s play. The prince had talent among his staff, talent which had since their arrival been wasted. True, Lumiere faced his share of difficulty without the aid of the enchanted inhabitants of the castle, cutlery included, but that had done little to slow him down.

Needless to say, the longer they remained in the apartment, the longer the days became, all of which beginning to feel the same. Were it not for Cogsworth’s punctuality, Lumiere would have had little awareness of the time passing them by. What was an hour, an afternoon, or even a day when they all felt the same?

Then there was Cogsworth. He was another story all together. Ordering him to go outside… Of all the folly. Nose held high, Lumiere kept his back to the man as he raved on, arms crossed firmly across his chest. “If it is of such importants, could we not simply open the shutters and let in some air?” He longed to go outside just as much as Cogsworth, but ordering him to do so was not the way. The candelabra was far too stubborn to allow the head of the household to tell him what to do. As if the overgrown pocket watch knew what was best for him. Hah! Although, now it felt now as though he was arguing for the sake of arguing, really. Perhaps he was.
