where i go, i just don't know... ( active / closed )
Character(s): Jecht & Auron.
Content: After Meg gets captured, Jecht seeks out his number one pal for advice / a sympatheric ear.
Setting: Actua Are.
Time: Shortly after the conclusion of this.
Warnings: Bromance.
As he rounded the corner at top speed, Jecht burst through the door of the Actua Are, drawing a good deal of attention to himself in the process. This had been the third location he'd tried -- he knew that Auron frequented the chain of hotels, but tracking down which one he was camped out at was a bit of a different story.
With a look of desperation about him, he heaved his torso onto the countertop, much to the desk lady's dismay. She leaned back as he leaned forward, giving her a serious look from underneath his bandana. "Auron... Where's Auron?!" he asked, breathless from all the running.

He paused. Knowing Auron was probably well informed about the threats that stiff-collared mayor spout out... "So I figured... why not just get out... set up on one of the other floors up there..."

Jecht shook his head, obviously dispirited. "Those guard guys... The ones at the gate. I... don't know where they took her."

"We need information first. If it turns out they are only detaining her for awhile, we should be able to raise enough money to pay for her release." He doubted it would be that easy, but it was the easiest place he could think of to start.
Auron kept his more unsettled thoughts silent. Jecht was already in a poor state, and him getting more agitated wouldn't help matters. Once he calmed down and once they had exhausted the first idea, then they could worry. Now was the time to keep emotions guarded.

"They can't lock us up just for tryin'a get outta this damn place! And hell if I'm gonna shell out some cash for something that shouldn't've even happened!"

"So?" he grumbled, a little reluctant still, "where should we start lookin' then?"

"I suggest you wear a shirt."
lmao... auron... thats sacrilegious...
"... Uh. I guess you're right," he seemed to deflate at the thought -- giving into that stupid mayor's rules was at the bottom of his prioeity list. "So where're we supposed to even find one..."
Everyone has to wear them sometime, Jecht.
you are robbing this city of one of its main attractions...

But he had learned quickly that it was better to not encourage Jecht when he was like this. "You can do it after your friend is safe."
Not to encourage him directly, anyway.
sorry this is so late!!
"Maybe they'll give us a deal since it's one-time use only..." he joked, hating the heaviness of the situation.

"You can always ask the mayor to pay for it for our trouble," Auron replied, taking his eyes off the shops for a moment to glance back at Jecht. As long as the man was set in his ways, he might as well do more than toss out orders and laws.

"Next thing you know, they're not going to let us into anyplace unless we're wearin' one of those monkey suits," Jecht jabbed a thumb in the direction of the store's display.

He stopped in front of a small shop. "Here." The prices, from what he could tell from the window, looked cheap (not that price actually mattered, but he would rather not have to waste any more time gathering items to trade if he had to), and any shirt would do.
Auron entered and returned in only a few minutes, and handed the shirt--plain and white--over to Jecht. "You can button it up on the way."

He waited restlessly, the seconds seeming more like hours -- crossing his arms and leaning against the building, shifting his weight constantly in his impatience.
When Auron finally re-appeared, he took the shirt from him, and held it out at arms length... "I guess it'll have to do," he half-muttered, slipping both arms into it, and buttoning it up... leaving the top three buttons undone. "You mean this isn't good enough?!" he turned to look at himself in the store's window -- using it as a mirror. "Hey, you know... I could make this look good..."

It would be better if Jecht could pretend to have some formality in the situation, but that was likely asking too much of both of them (Auron had enough difficulty mustering up an ounce of respect for the mayor himself).
are you cool with a slight timeskip here for the 'lookin for the jail! dododo...' |D
