One dramatic debut [Completed]
Character(s): Ratigan
Content: The Napoleon of Crime arrives to Paixao
Setting: Nifleheim gate
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Ratigan is a scheming ham
First thing's first, no one snatches Ratigan, no one. Thus his predicament of waltzing through one door into this--this...travesty of a place did not leave him in good spirits. For a moment the hulking beast of a rat turned his head to and fro to the icy gate, the domed architecture. He could already tell this place was nothing like London...Spain, maybe? Everything seemed so artificial, gaudy.
But no, the sights weren't important. What mattered was that someone outwitted him, someone whisked him away. He would blame his peg-legged cohort Fidget, but it seems the bat made himself conveniently unavailable. But oh yes, someone would face his ire.
Thankfully he hears the familiar flounce of a certain overweight cat. He rushes to the cat and embrace her, bemoaning, "Felicia, baby! Did they hurt daddy's little baby?"
But enough of tender moments, Ratigan lets go and fixes his suit.
He growls, "Someone has a poor sense of humor. But we know what to do with them, yes?"
The rat lends a nasty grin before continuing past the gate, gesturing for prim cat to follow.

Arriving at Nifleheim though, she could see for herself that what mayor idiot said was true. There were more guards then usual and they seemed to immediately stare at her as she approached. Still... nothing too bad for her to handle, IF she wanted to leave.
She simply played it safe and pretended to not noticing them, looking everywhere except at the guards. However, while "subtly" trying to avert her gaze, she fell on something a bit more unusual.
"Huh, what's a cat doing around here?" she said, crouching down to it's level. "Who leaves a cat outside in this weather?"

Felicia throws a haughty head in the air at this girl. As if her master would abandon her, the very thought!
The huge dandy of a rat pats the spoiled feline as he speaks to the girl, "Her name is Felicia, dear girl and you will address her as such."
no subject
"Oh... kay," she answered, clearly not very impressed by the prissy cat and rat. As if she was supposed to know the name of a random cat she's never met. "Wait... you're the owner? Don't cats usually eat mice and rats?" She finally asked, unable to hide her confusion any longer.

But Ratigan can put aside his annoyance with her long enough to show off his precious pet. He pets Felicia, who in turn responds with a content purr, "Oh, she does."
He chuckles sardonically as releases one arm to pat his trusty bell within his coat pocket, "Let's just say I control her diet."
no subject
However, the look on her face said it all. She stared at the rat, unamused and suspicious. "Is that so?"
She had never met the two of them before and usually, she wouldn't have been too annoyed to start talking about the city or how they were trapped, but she wasn't exactly too keen on doing it in this case.

His favorite pet shares a conspiratorial snicker as he continues heaping attention on the cat. Of course, Ratigan realizes they're trapped in some strange city. Wouldn't hurt to show a little formality, would it? Even if she didn't give any information, he'd have a little fun.
Turning to Priere, he curtsies theatrically as he introduces himself, "Professor Ratigan at your service."
no subject
Assuming he was as suspicious as he made himself to be anyway.
She didn't say anything afterwards, stuck between staring at the gate guards still looking at her, or the gaze of Ratigan. Great, this was getting awkward.
"I don't think I've ever heard your name before. I guess you just arrived here?"
no subject
"Sister Priere. Lovely, a member of the clergy," he muses, "How sentimental."
His eyes wander to the gate guards standing by. Really, it feels most unbecoming for him to just arrive with not so much a single glance. He can feel his ego beginning to starve And brought here to a location without his consent, no less. In a melodramatic moan he props himself against Felicia, who decides to remain seated as Ratigan vents.
"Brought? You mean kidnapped so shabbily!" he throws his head back, bemoaning, "Such lack of tact!"
no subject
Right, she did leave out the 'demon hunter' part.
"Well yeah... kidnapped. Join the club. Everyone who isn't from this stupid town was kidnapped. It's not like we wanted to be here," she answered, but keeping her gaze aimed right at the guards in disdain. Whether or not they noticed or cared, she wouldn't know, but the intent was there.

Separating from the cat, he follows Priere's gaze. Of course they're still there. Too risky to try anything with them around. Oh well, he had more information to milk from this girl.
"A sad state of affairs," he put on his best sympathetic voice, "Imagine the deviant mind who would bring us so rudely to...whatever you call this shanty town."
A deviant mind he envies at the moment. Someone who outwitted him? It just wouldn't do.
no subject
"Paixao," she answered, finally leaving the guards alone. "What? You didn't get the rundown at the gates? Though, then again, they're probably still trying to deal with the snow..." she mused out loud.
But she had to agree with the 'devious mind' comment. "Yeah well, whoever decided to get us here better have a real good excuse or else he's going to get his ass kicked."
no subject
"Giving me without so much as a greeting and," he pulls the journal from under his cape, "This little trinket."
Despite the girl's vulgarity, he couldn't agree more. Really, the nerve of locking up his criminal intellect!
"My sentiments exactly, my dear girl."
no subject
She got her own communicator out as to make a point. "It's just a way to talk with other people. Everyone here has one."
no subject
The rat motions for Felicia to move once more. He taps the communicator, grinning appreciatively and chuckling, "And what a most darling invention. As for now, I suppose I'll have to find some temporary lodgings..."
He didn't really care if Priere would offer him a place to stay or not, he'd find one regardless.
no subject
"The people here are kinda dumb, just grab anything that's shiny like the leaves and it counts as money. There's hotels all over the place," she stated, not really interested. Heck, she was close to adding that a rat like him could probably just nibble his way in or somethng.
no subject
He beckons the overweight cat by his side to get on the move again, "Time for me to take my leave. It would be unfortunate to run into any unsavory characters."
no subject
"Good luck with that. They tend to not show themselves really often," she finally said, not saying too much, but just enough in case he was really worried about it. Hey, maybe, just maybe he was simply a drama queen and not some shady rat.
Maybe.

Walking into the city, he waves to Priere, "Fare thee well! Till we meet again!"
If they meet again.
